Personality: Kiyomi is a curious, shy individual. Her introverted personality is resultant of having been bullied at school in middle school. Mean boys bullied her until the first day of her freshman year of high school when the most popular of them came to school with one of his dad’s pokemon: Sandshrew (level 8 ). He tried to get his Sandshrew to wrestle Kiyomi to the ground outside, but suddenly, a new girl who often referred to herself as “the dicey one” intervened. The new girl battled the Sandshrew back with her very own Poliwag. This girl made a fool of the bully and was boastful in the process saying, “If you want to pick on the girls, at least pick on the dicey one!” From then on, Kiyomi was grateful and admired the girl’s moxie and spirited gumption. As shy as she is, she wants to be strong like the girl who helped her at school.

History: Kiyomi lived with her parents in Goldenrod City all her life and attended an expensive high school. Her mother was a veterinarian for pokemon. There came a day when someone brought her mother a very sick vulpix. Kiyomi’s mom did all she could to help, and her efforts paid off, but the trainer never returned to claim the pokemon. After a few months, Kiyomi was allowed to keep the Vulpix as a pet. Much to her parents’ surprise, Kiyomi began training it immediately. The thing she loved most about Vulpix, however, was that it was a female pokemon that refused to take abuse from anyone. It took at least an additional month for Vulpix to become comfortable with Kiyomi because it was used to defending itself against everyone and treating all others like opponents for the sake of survival. It reminded Kiyomi of the girl whom she admired at school—“the dicey one”, so she finally named Vulpix. She called her Dice.
