Personality:
When he was a child, Sato was very kind, loving towards his parents and older brother and respectful to his fellow towns people as well as his teachers from the Pokémon School. His original dream was to join the Unova Elite Four when he grew up with such greatly sought abilities. Sato's ideals and personality changed drastically and he became cold, indifferent, cruel, cynical, somewhat arrogant, unreasonable when he had found out that his brother had been murdered.

History:
Sato is the second and youngest son of the Unova Strike Team and Strike Team head: Fenzo Duece, and his wife Mikoto. Mikoto named him after their great grandfather in hopes that he would grow up to be a Pokémon master like his namesake. As a child, Sato grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Dee Duece who was an acknowledged prodigy viewed by the town as a genius, and whose work would further strengthen the bonds between the regions of all the Pokémon world. Sato's father in particular took an active interest in Dee. Dee, on the other hand, was rather ambivalent and full of oddly conflicting undercurrents, acknowledging Sato by taking interest in his progress as a trainer and spending time playing with him when even their father did not.

Later on Dee went on a trip that was meant to last 2 years but around the first five months, Sato and his family got a letter saying that Dee had been murdered and robbed. The only thing that Dee had on him was his purple hat that Sato now wears. From then on Sato's ideals and personality changed drastically and he became cold, indifferent, cruel, cynical, somewhat arrogant, unreasonable when he had found out that his brother had been murdered.
