Kendrick Marshall

Kendrick is a young adult male who has the appearance of someone much younger, looking more like he's 18 or 19, rather than his actual age of 21. He has darkened skin, which can be described as rich like coffee, and yellow eyes which contrast the brown of his skin. His hair is typically changed every other week, and is a very dark brown/black with a bit of platinum blonde towards the hair on the base of the neck. His limbs are long, as is his body to accommodate these limbs, and as such, he makes many precise, lithe movements. Kendrick values "beauty" and takes long amounts of time to make sure that he looks presentable when walking from the house. He keeps his skin moisturized so that it's soft like a baby's. Kendrick's nose is small and slightly pointed, and his teeth are blinding white with enlarged canines, which give the illusion of fangs. His expression typically matches his default emotion, calm. A small smile, coupled with eye contact, and a loose stance. Along the sides of his arms and legs, he has several tattoos blazing up the side of his body which he got when he was just a child. Most of them seem nonsensical and tribal, although a just few do have some semblance of symbolism, especially a few hieroglyphs for Kyogre, Latias, and other Legends.

Kendrick's typical attire is rather formal, although not completely so.  He wears a top hat, most often, which he keeps tilted on his head on at a 80 degree angle. He wears a black suit, which he leaves unbuttoned whether he has an undershirt or not, although typically he does have a white undershirt. The sleeves of his shirt are kept pulled all the way up to his wrists, and buttoned, to keep his movements precise and conducted. He often wears white gloves to go with this. His pants match the suit, despite being slightly lighter at a dark gray, and cut off right at the end of his ankles, having been tailored specifically for him. The pants are as tight as the suit to allow for him to move as he does. Kendrick wears formal dress shoes, which squeak slightly every time he makes a "wrong" step.
Kendrick's formal wear is not much different than his casual wear, aside from the black suit becoming a vibrant shade of violet. His top hat is replaced, typically, by a fedora that bears the exact same color as his suit with a white strip down the middle and an amazingly flamboyant feather jutting outward from the strip.


Calling Kendrick eccentric would be like calling a Tyrannosaur a gecko. He's obnoxiously emphatic most of the time, liking to say things as loudly as he possibly can so that all can hear him. In a way, one could consider him a show-off based on that fact. And his expressions, as well as style of dress, would only further give you evidence towards this. He has a tendency to say things that don't make much sense at face value. But when you analyze them with knowledge of the situation, you may be able to decipher what he means. Kendrick's (biased) conscious appears to him as the voice of his ancestors, and he will reply to them.
The only time when Kendrick is in a state of serenity is when he's hitting his pipe. His face instantly calms as soon as he has a puff or two. He becomes much calmer and more manageable for several hours after smoking. However, it comes with the side effect of making him speak in rhymes. If it doesn't infuriate you, you can easily deal with it.
Kendrick is obsessed with true beauty, which has some to do with how he was raised and some to do with what he read and took interest in as he got older. One of his long-time goals has been pursuit of the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre, what he considers to be the most beautiful Pokemon in existence. He looks on most Pokemon as lowly, and only has a few exceptions to this rule of his. He will treat Pokemon in certain ways depending on how he feels about them. For example, he will kick Trubishes and Garbodors. 

Intelligence- Kendrick is crafty, for sure. He knows how to make his way out of most bad situations and can be a worthy leader if a situation calls for it within a small group of people.
Willingness- Once he's been briefed on a cause and he finds it worthy enough for him to work for, he'll work for it as hard as he possibly can. Even if it means the end of him, in some cases, he'll carry out orders.
Musical Ability- He has quite the ear for music, and can differentiate tones, notes, and other things by ear. He can also make some pretty good music with little to nothing for him to use.
Creativity- As previously said, Kendrick is quite odd. He has an affinity for weird happenings and oddities. Found a wriggling sack that's glowing bright purple? Kendrick's your man.
Ego- Kendrick's ego is incredulously large for someone like him. He thinks so highly of himself that he finds it impossible for him to be able to lose or fail. When it happens, it hits him far harder than it really should.
Immature- He tends to act like a kid at times. For example, he wouldn't save someone that had previously hurt his feelings in some way, by insulting him or something. At least, he wouldn't if he weren't prompted to.
Unfocused- Despite his intense willingness to work, if he's not interested in the work he's supposed to do, he won't do it well if he does it at all. He's got a quite short attention span and can end up looking all over the place to avoid talking to someone he doesn't care about, for example.
Addiction- While his pipe helps him calm himself down greatly and appears to have no other side effects on him, he's dangerously addicted to his specific blend of herbs. If he's not allowed to smoke, after 3 days or so, he'll begin to sag behind. Soon he'll lose his peppy attitude. He'll go silent, and become irritable. He'll have repeated and exponentially worse outbursts of anger until he can get it back. If he doesn't get it back, he'll go crazy and run off into the distance to look for more.
Kendrick strives to acquire the most beautiful Pokemon of all, in his eyes, Kyogre. He feels that once he's completed this task, he'll have accomplished what his family's been doing for generations.

Kendrick's absolute, greatest fear is being lost to his family history again. By that, he means like, being locked up in a dark tower with his tattoos covered over or removed or something like that, with his family's legacy erased from his brain. His love of true beauty, revoked. His path to Kyogre? Ended. The connection he once felt to his past ancestors? Gone. Almost like some kind of advanced form of isolation.

Kenny is a very, very, VERY flamboyant battler. His style involves a lot of making things flow into each other, and using what's around to make things look even better than they already do. He and his Pokemon work in a great sync, and add little flourishes to every move that make things unique. Kendrick refuses to let the other person leave the battle believing that he was a pushover, or that the "show, as it were, was boring.
This, at times, can lead to very embarrassing losses as he and his Pokemon can get very caught up in what they do. But when he's serious, he gets REALLY serious. During periods of withdrawal, for example, he will be very aggressive with his battles and attempt to hammer his opponents into the ground.
