The Beginning

It had only been a few days since returning from Pallet Town with a new Pokemon, and Lucy was more ready than ever to start her journey.
"I guess...I could look around the forest before I go to the next town." She said to herself, looking around, "I'd need more Pokemon if I'm gonna wanna beat a Gym Leader." She sighed quietly. The petite girl now wandered into the dense Viridian Forest, on the look out for any wild Pokemon.

A boy emerged from a nearby bush with snow-white hair and a blue sweater on. He gave a sigh, clearly having no luck finding something. He was obviously a trainer, and had three pokeballs and held an egg under his left arm and some sort of stick in the other. He hadn't noticed the girl when he emerged, but upon noticing her, he smiled and waved to her to try and get her attention.

Lucy noticed the boy who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. A timid person like her instead of greeting the boy, jumped out of line of sight and behind a rather large tree. A popping sound was heard and Lucy's Pokeball opened, revealing a Charmander.

"Charmander! Char!" He scolded the girl in Pokespeake, frowning and tapping his foot impatiently.

"Apollo...shhh. You don't understand" Lucy whispered harshly to the fire type. Apollo rolled his eyes, he walked off. "Come back here!" Lucy whispered loudly to her Pokemon, who was now making his way over to the white haired boy.

The male looked at the approaching Charmander. Between holding the stick and the Pokemon Egg, he didn't seem to focused towards the Fire-Type that came forth. He smiled however, and gave a laugh. "What's a Pokemon like you doing out here in the forest alone little guy? Do you have a trainer or did you come from the lab in Pallet Town all the way here?", he asked, letting the stick fall to the ground as he held up a Pokeball and pushed down on the button. It released a Froakie, who proceeded to shake himself and look up at the boy. "Hey little guy, I'm Teddy and this here is my partner, Froakie.", he said, holding out his now free hand to shake the Charmander's hand. His other hand retrieved the stick, as Froakie had grabbed the Egg from Teddy and held onto it for him.

The Charmander shook Teddy's hand enthusiastically. Lucy poked her head out from behind the tree, eyeing the Froakie holding the egg. She slowly began to leave her hiding place.

Teddy's smile grew brighter, kneeling down to level with the Charmander. "You're so warm little guy, makes me wish I had my own Fire Type.", he said, glancing over to Froakie who gave Teddy a rather angry look while holding onto the egg. Froakie noticed the girl who left the tree, pointing her out. "Froa-Froa-Froakie.", he said, catching Teddy's attention with the only thing the Pokemon could possibly say.

"H-hello" Lucy stuttered, now trying to get their attention, "Is...that a Froakie?" She asked, looking at the frog Pokemon in amazement. Apollo turned to see his trainer, he shook his head and folded his tiny arms watching Lucy get excited over the water type Pokemon.

The boy gave a playful chuckle, picking the egg up from Froakie's grasp and holding the stick in the other hand. "You got in.", he said, gesturing her to come closer. He glanced down to Charmander, and then lowered himself to whisper to him. "Don't worry, Froakie has a way with children most of the time. I still think you're a better Pokemon.", he said to the Charmander, earning a rather upset look from Froakie.

Apollo grinned, taking the compliment. Lucy approached her Pokemon and the boy.
"I've never seen one in person before." She said, staring a Froakie, "Oh I'm sorry...I'm Lucy...I'm not much of a people person." She told him rather meekly, "And the Charmander is Apollo." She added.

"Ah, so the guy's name is Apollo heh?", the boy said with a grin. "Oh, yeah Froakie aren't native to the Kanto Region. I have family in a far off region called Kalos, I received this little guy as a gift from them for my 10th birthday.", he stated, poking at Froakie with his stick. Froakie didn't seem irritated at this point, but instead rather happy. The white-haired boy smiled as Lucy. "So, you're named Lucy? Well....", he said, leaning the stick against his body and extending his arm to her. "...You can call me Teddy.", he said, giving a gentle smile and trying to make her into a people person.

Lucy took Teddy's hand into her own, shaking it, similar to how Apollo had done so beforehand.
"So you're from Kalos?" She questioned, "That's so far away...I don't even leave the city that much." She commented glancing around. Apollo nodded, "Charmander" he said, showing he agreed with her.

He raised his hands a bit frantically, shaking them like his head to make out no. "No, no not at all my family is from Kanto. My aunt moved out there when I was little, my family's spread about but my parents stayed here in Kanto.", Teddy said to her and Apollo as he returned Froakie to his pokeball. "Sorry little guy, I can't watch you and carry this egg at the same time.", he said. He looked her over, guessing that she wasn't exactly confident in herself or anything. "So uh, if you mind me asking do you plan on challenging the Pewter City Gym?", he asked, gesturing to Apollo as if he was trying to get a point across.


OOC: Hella true it's only the two of us plus we likely won't get confused.

Lucy nodded, "Uh...that's my plan...but we need to train...and I should try to catch more Pokemon." She admitted. Apollo nodded with his trainer, both as if to agree with Lucy and to confirm Teddy's question.

Teddy rubbed the egg with the sleeve of his sweater and gave a smile. "I'm not sure what I want to do either, but I've considered challenging the gyms as well. You know about typing advantage right? Because you might need to catch a Pokemon that can beat Rock-Types. A Fire-Type like Apollo might have trouble against the gym, but have no fear if you need advice on Pokemon I'll do what I can.", Teddy said, hearing something as a Pokemon emerged from the bushes near Lucy.

A small, yellow mouse Pokemon named Pikachu emerged. It was obviously female due to the distinct lack of a complete tail. "Hey, Lucy there's a wild Pokemon now. You should try to catch that Pikachu.", Teddy suggested.

Lucy stared at the yellow rodent with the intent of catching it, "Okay...here goes...Apollo you should use dig...electric types are weak to ground moves right?" She asked, wanting to make sure. Apollo nodded quickly, wanting to get it over with, he began to dig deep into the ground until there was no sign of the fire type except for a rather large hole.

IC:

The Pikachu seemed ignorant that Apollo even used a move, and proceeded to walk towards the hole and peer down it. Turning slowly, she looked towards Lucy and gave a rather evil look as sparks came off of her cheeks. It was obvious what the wild Pikachu was about to do as he jumped down into the hole after Apollo with a Thundershock active.

Teddy laughed. "That Pikachu is certainly fiesty. You should be careful now that it's a battle you can't see. But I guess this will be a good experience for you.", he said to Lucy, glad that he didn't have to fight any wild Pokemon. He gave a smile as he looked down at his egg, curious as to what would hatch from it.

OOC: Really liking the personality of this one omg, also sorry I didn't get on last night to post...I passed out and didn't wake up.

IC: Lucy bit her lip, listening to Teddy's advice, "Maybe this might work...Apollo...Dig to your left and make a 90 degree turn right into Pikachu!" She said, thinking her action through.

Apollo quickly dug, hopefully faster than Pikachu. He turned to the left, digging into the ground, he then made another left and did so once again, practically shredding the dirt around him to get to his goal. Finally, Apollo dug right back into his original tunnel and possibly directly into the Pikachu following him.

IC: The Pikachu was struck and jumped out of the hole, obviously upset by the fact she had been hit in the first place. Glaring in Lucy's direction, the Pikachu began walking towards her, sparks flying from her cheeks despite obviously being low on health.

Teddy watch, holding his stick. "Pikachu seems to be weaker, now might be a good time to throw a Pokeball, unless you want her to come after you.", he stated.

Lucy nodded, "Right...I don't know if Pikachu wants to attack me...so I'll just..." she carefully picked out the Pokeball from her bag, "Hope I don't miss!" She yelled, throwing the white and red ball towards the electric type.

Apollo meanwhile took his dear time to get out of the hole he dug. Once he emerged he shook all of the dirt off his scaly skin, looking at the Pokeball swallow Pikachu and then he turned his attention to his trainer.

IC: Pikachu was struck by the ball and sucked in. Lucy wasn't the only one wondering if it would stay in the Pokeball, as it rocked once. Teddy stared towards in with anticipation as the second rock came, and Pikachu still hadn't gotton out. By the third one, Teddy gave a sigh of release and clapped for Lucy and Apollo as the Pikachu was caught. "Well done Lucy, you caught your very first Pokemon aside from Apollo of course.", Teddy stated, looking off into the distance. "We should get going, its not hard to get lost in the Viridian Forest at night.", he said, waiting for her to grab Pikachu's Pokeball.

(Jupiter...I'm gonna do the whole mythological naming thing. I'll do Greek and Rome...Jupiter sounds a lil feminine but it's not suppose to oops. I can add it since it took me long to reply so no worries)

Ava sighed in relief, "My first Pokemon I caught on my own." She said, strolling over to the Pokeball and picking it up, "What do you think Apollo? She's pretty smart too, the way she was battling us."

Apollo grinned, releasing a few embers from his mouth, and dancing a bit, hopping on one foot to the next.
"Thank you for the advice Teddy." Ava said, smiling softly at her new friend, "And..." She began, looking around. Despite the vast amount of trees, it was easy to tell the sun was going to set soon, "You're right...we should get going."

Teddy smirked. "I think it would be good to get moving, but if the sun sets we should stop and make camp. We don't exactly have any lights on us other than Apollo.", Teddy stated, smiling to Apollo. He started walking, keeping his eyes peeled for any suspicious movements of wild Pokemon. To compensate for him having to carry the egg, he let Froakie back out of his Pokeball to assist in dealing with any future encounters they might have. Froakie himself traveled by tree branches, jumping from branch to branch.

Lucy walked a few feet behind Teddy, letting him lead the way out of the forest. The trees were giant in the forest, their leaves hiding any light from the now rising moon to shine through. There was a small rustling heard in the bushes nearby. Lucy stopped in her tracks to listen.
"Teddy...I think I hear some-" She began but was cut off when the rustling came to a halt and a Weedle tumbled out of it's hiding spot right into Teddy's foot.

"Weee!" The hairy bug cried out in pain, looking up to whoever was in it's way. Seeing Teddy, the Pokemon got angry, wiggling around all over the ground, it's beady eyes focused on the boy.
Apollo stood in front of Lucy protectively, growling at the bug and poison Pokemon.

"I think...it wants to fight you." Lucy told Teddy, watching the small Pokemon.

Teddy held tight to the egg, looking upon the small bug with a small grin of joy. "Weedle, I've heard of you Pokemon before from a good friend of mine. I think I should catch you.", he said, looking up to Froakie who jumped down. "Now buddy, don't be too harsh on him we're gonna try to catch him you hear?", he told Froakie who didn't hesitate to jump into the battle with Weedle, unleashing a Water Pulse at the bug.

The water pulse crashed right into the bug, causing him to tumble about. Once the Weedle re positioned himself, he let out a white thread from below his nose, attempting to reduce Froakie's speed by covering Teddy's pokemon with Stringshot.

"It's using Stringshot..." Lucy said, "But Froakie is already a pretty fast Pokemon..."
