The Journey to the first catch

The bed that Mike has awoken from was nice and silky. Coming from a rich family but not to rich. Born in the heart of Cerulean City. Neighbored to the 3 beautiful sisters and Misty. To early to be waking up at 7 in the morning. If his Houndour would have shut up he could have slept in, but his Pokemon journey begins as he heads towards Pewter City to get his very first gym badge. Mike was lost, he knew he had been going the right direction though.

"Houndour? Is the way through Mt. Moon the way to get to Viridean City."

Mike's Houndour looked dazed as he follows in Mike's tracks. Then as he walks through an extra tall piece of grass, he hears something moving around.

Mike was so stunned at the sight of his first Pokémon. He was almost scared to try. He looks at Houndour and said

"Okay let's get this Whismur buddy, he can only hope to contain us.

He gets Houndour pumped up because it is his first real battle. With a shout he says

"Houndour use ember!"

A flame burst comes out of the mouth of Houndour and shoots at the Whismur. Houndour was also terrified of what could happen because this was very nerve racking for the 2 members. Houndour was serious with his trainer though. As serious as Mike was about this battle, he was also having some fun with it. Even though it just started he knew that him and Houndour would be a great team together.

Mike was surprised at the attack by the Whismur, knocking his Houndour over. Houndour tried to get up and it worked. The Take Down by Whismur had some impact but not enough to keep them down. If Mike wanted to be a Pokemon Champion then he was going to have to do more then just sit around and wait to dodge. He got to thinking.

"Houndour use your leer attack. Then use your Ember immediately."

As trainer Mike throws out his commands, Houndour obeys as he shoots a leer and then immediately following that he uses an ember.

This time Houndour and Mike ready for the attack.

"Dodge Houndour! Try Ember one more time and knock the Whismur down!"

With all of it's might and power Houndour shoots a powerful ember out of his mouth. The flame was twice as bbig as the last and had the rest of the energy from Houndour.

Mike was terrified for his Houndour's health and was worried Whismur was going to do something else, but at that time they were both down and Mike went to a plan B.

"Pokeball go!"

Mike unclips a Pokeball from his belt loop and throws it at the Whismur.

The Poke Ball rolled through the air, hitting the rowdy Whismur and capturing it in red light. Dropping to the floor with the wild Pokemon inside, it rocked three times before settling idle. Mike had captured a Whismur! Did he want to give it a nickname?

Whismur was Mike's first Pokemon that he actually caught. From now on he will call Whismur, Wish.

Mike has just entered Mt. Moon at this point and he is hungry and so are his Pokemon so they try to find a place to go. A Pokemon center sounded like a good idea but he had no clue if he should have turned around or gone towards Pewter City, so he decides to go for Pewter and let Houndour and Wish take a rest. Then he sees something in the darkness

Mike thought that the 2 hour nap for Houndour and Wish was quite enough.

"Houndour, I choose you!"

Mike throws his Pokeball in the air and a white flash comes out of it and it appears to be his trusty friend Houndour. Houndour looks all bright eyed and ready to go.

"Houndour get the Sandshrew with a Ember attack!"

Houndour lights up and shoots it out headed towards the Sandshrew.

Mike had never seen such a strong Sandshrew before and was worried of this outcome. No matter what he knew he would have to try. Mike started barking more commands to Houndour. But Houndour had to slowly get up from the brutal swift attack.

"Way to phase him buddy. It's okay shake it off. Throw another Ember at it."

Houndour's mouth lit up with flames once more and shot a spark then the ember out of his mouth at the weakened Sandshrew.

Blinded by the sand in his face he gets hit with a scratch attack. Houndour didn't even know what hit him. He was swiped then knocked down. Houndour slowly gets back up and is ready to begin. He is very out of it.

"Houndour way to be strong, now use you're leer attack followed by your tackle."

Houndour shoots his leer at Sandshrew then does a tackle towards him.

Mike was very proud of his Houndour for making the move. Sandshrew had enough energy left to take on Houndour with that rapid spin though. As you see, he was headed towards Houndour and all you hear is a "clack!". Rapid spin hit Houndour and it was a critical hit. Houndour was down for the count

"Come back!"

He looks at his second Pokeball and he throws it and as he does so he screams,

"Wish give it all you got! Pound!"

A Whismur who has never battled with Mike before came shooting out of it's Pokeball. and immediately came out with a pound attack headed for the weakened Sandshrew.

As you see the Sandshrew come after the Whismur on the field Mike doesn't know what to do so he yells,

"Wish, use your Uproar to try and negate the attack."

Wish bent his knees and you could feel the vibration of the Uproar

As Mike sees the chance he grabs another Pokeball from his waist and throws it at the Sandshrew. It flies mid air over top of Sandshrew and Mike just waits with Wish to see if he catches him.

*Sandy is what the new name will be*

So a Sandshrew and a Whismur is what was in Mike's pocket as he heads back to Cerulean to take them to a Pokemon Center...

3 hours later

Back in Mt. Moon headed towards Pewter City to get after the Boulder Badge. when he sees a mysterious shadow from the corner just standing there. He can't tell if it's a Pokemon or a person.
