Alien Invasion RP

I always thought why alien invasion movies, games and others always has a plot where humans are focused on the present time. Why don't we settle this fairly? Why don't we have this on future where we are match by aliens. I mean Earth has advanced weaponry, laser guns, cyborgs, laser tanks, flying cars, strange animal species made by science and others, and then suddenly, unknown signals will be detected by NASA and is approaching Earth. And then one day, flying saucers flies around Earth then suddenly they blast laser everywhere then some flying saucers land and its door opens releasing weird alien creatures blasting laser guns and we use our advanced technology against them, our cyborgs, laser turrets, laser guns against their alien robots, alien laser turrets and such. I think it'd be cool. What do you think?

Ir... hard to make an opinion... I never liked this ALIEN stuff. Assuming we were attacked by aliens, what would you do? I know I would fight... you even know what the original term "Alien" is?
