Mercury is an ambitious, fun loving girl, always trying her best to win the battle, but she cares for her pokemon allot, and wouldn't put their health and safety in front of a victory. She would help her pokemon get stronger, so they can protect themselves against stronger pokemon easier and not get hurt, too much.
History:
Mercury was always a shy girl, a wallflower if you will. She never really had any friends, except for the pokemon that her parents were breeding with. But when she got her Spheal when she was finally old enough, the pokemon had changed her, it was very excited about battling, but always wary of hurting other pokemon. They then grew closer and closer, and Mercury convinced Spheal that if she didn't hurt other pokemon, just enough to make them faint, that she would always have a disadvantage in battle. They then started to train each day, training to finally challenge their first gym, and put their combined personalities against their opponents to pull of a win.
