Lucas's Awakening

Lucas awoke to screeching wingulls outside his bedroom window. He rubs his eyes before opening them to see his packed backpack. This reminded him that he was going with his parents to rustboro later in the day. This motivated him to get dressed and out of his room to be greeted by cubone with a welcoming “cuBONE.” “Hey buddy” Lucas responded still a little drowsy. He walked in the kitchen and His mother said “Good morning, ready for the trip?” with a chuckle and he casually answered “yeah, but I wanna do some stuff before leaving.” He continues into the living room and sees presents on the coffee table and his Dad walks in and informs “Those are your late birthday presents because it’s the first time we’ve been home since then.” Lucas’s face lights up as he tears through the wrapping paper and discovers a pokedex, pokenav, and six pokeballs. His father says “we’ve noticed that you were getting interested in training cubone so we decided we would give you the tools to start being a trainer, and also one of those pokeballs is for cubone in case you need it.” “Thanks” Lucas responds. Cubone walks in to the room upon hearing its name. “Come on cubone” Lucas calls and he runs and jumps onto Lucas’s shoulders and they climb down to the ground. They go around the town saying “Good bye” to all their neighbors and then Lucas got the idea to talk to Winona about becoming a trainer and maybe she will be nice enough to add herself to his pokenav, so they travel to the gym. Lucas opens the door and calls out “Winona you here?”

Winona appeared to be nowhere. Unless of course, he looked up to see Winona sitting in the rafters with her beloved Altaria. She called down
"Hey Lucas, what's up?"
confused by his rather abrupt arrival at the gym, having not heard about him becoming a trainer though, she knew that the day would have came eventually.

"I decided I'm gonna become a trainer and wondered if you could give me any tips or anything before embarking on my journey." Lucas exclaims.Then cubone jumps off Lucas's shoulders and curiously peers around his leg to see altaria and the large arena.
"Oh yeah, cubone is obviously going to help me reach my goal and also i don't have much time cause my parents are leaving to Rustboro later today"
He quickly spouts. He rustles around playing with his new pokenav, after a minute his face lights up and he asks
"Maybe you could add your number in my pokenav to help me on my journey."

"Sure"
Winona called down before leaping from the rafters to be caught by Altaria and be brought to the ground. She then said
"Tell you what let's make it a game, I'll periodically ask you questions vital to being a trainer and in return i'll give you a helpful tip. Ok?"
she then nicely took the Pokenav and put her number into it so, that they could maintain contact throughout his journey.
"The first tip i'll give you for free, To be a truly great trainer you should have a well rounded team to contend with all types of opponents and if you don't; find ways to combat type disadvantages, like me and my team have to with Electric and Rock Types and etc."
she remarked then looking around and saying
"Anyway I think I can hear you parents calling you so, you'd better be off and I'll contact you soon with your first question Ok?"

"Sounds Great can't wait to hear from you." He say as he happily walks away with cubone by his side. He then focuses more on his hearing and he too hears his parents hollering from a few tree houses down. He looks around and spots them putting binders in their packs and his mother with his pack. He climbs up to them and the building reminds him that it is his parents research station.
"Did you finish all you wanted? Cause we have to leave soon." Lucas's mother warned urgently.
"Yeah all i wanted to do was to say my 'good byes' and to talk to Winona before we left and what's with the rush?" Lucas answered.
"Lets say take your pokemon to work day didn't work out well and they lost some vital information that only we have copies of." His father informed.
His father proceeded to take out one of his pokeballs and he threw out his tropius down to the ground below.
"Everyone ready?" his father asked and they all threw on their packs and hopped onto tropius's back and they began their flight.
