Starting life as a coordinator.

"Come on Pichu. I wanna see a contest up close. They've had them in Sinnoh, but only in hearthome city." said Zach. Pichu jumped on his Shoulder, and Zach followed RuRu to the Contest Hall.

RuRu arrived at the contest hall. and simply walked past the line, stating that she was better than them and that they just hadn't noticed yet. She walked to the person signing people up, and said "I'm new, and I'm competing in this contest.

"Okay." said the woman at the desk. "First you'll have to sign these papers for your Contest pass, or do you already have one?"

RuRu signed the papers and handed them back to the lady. "No, this is my first contest." She said bluntly.

"Alright then." said the Woman. She handed RuRu a Laminated Card. "Here is your Contest Pass."

Then she scanned her card. "RuRu Shizume. Alright, now please tell me your Hometown and Region, and what Pokemon you wish to enter."

RuRu wrote down her region, and also said that her hometown was Twinleaf town. This, of course, was a lie, but she didn't want to be found out. "I wish to enter Joltik." She said, somewhat as if she were royalty.

The Woman entered the information into the computer.

"Okay Ms. Shizume, you're all set. Please move right this way into the Greenroom." she showed her a direction down a hall.

RuRu followed the women's directions, and along the way released her Joltik, who was obviously excited to be in the tournament. They were both confident in their act, and knew that it would go off without a hitch.

Meanwhile, Zach was getting his Trainers viewers pass. "Okay Mr. Satoshi, you can use this Pass anywhere in the Hoenn Region." said the man, handing back his Pokedex. "Thanks. Alright Pichu, lets go cheer on RuRu." said Zach.

Back in the Greenroom, there were Three other Trainers with their Pokemon. A Woman appeared to RuRu. "Hi there, I see youre new here." she said, and she handed her a Breifcase. "Here, you might need this dressing kit. It'll be for the first round." she said.

(OOC: cause we changed the way the contest will be, I'll just ignore the bit about the dressing kit.)
RuRu thanked the lady who had welcomed her, rather curtly, and waited for her name to be called. when she heard her name, she took a deep breath and sent out her pokemon, joltik. This was it, the beginning of her new life. "Joltik, start off with string shot, then thunder wave!" Joltik jumped into the air, using a spiral of string shot to propel herself. The thunder wave made the string shot blink with electricity, and continue to do so, bringing oohs and ahs from the audience. Jotik propelled herself up into the air and sprung a bright flashing cocoon out of the silk. Light reflected off every surface, making a great light show. "Finish it off with protect, Joltik!" Joltik used protect to force the silk out, and millions of balls of light flying around the room. With that, Joltik landed on RuRu's shoulder, and they both turned to hear the judges comments.

The Announcer, a Man in Sunglasses, blurted out "And what a Performance from RuRu's Joltik! Quite a Lightshow! Lets hear what the Judges have to say."


Judge 1: "Now that, is a REAL show of bondage."

Judge 2: "How Remarkable!"

Judge 3: "It gives the pleasure of watching Fireworks and Flarelights put together."

RuRu, smiled. It was something that she hadn't done in years, and the judges remarks had made her so proud that she just couldn't help it. She recalled Joltik and went back into the waiting area, to wait for the battles.

Zach was in the stands with his Pichu. Pichu was drinking a juice box, while Zach was eating a pretzel. "Quite the show." said Zach.

Then RuRu was called up next.

RuRu once agains sent out Joltik, and whispered advice to her. "Remember Joltik, the point here isn't to knock the opponent out, although that is an automatic win. You have to decrease their points by making them seem as graceful as possible." With that, RuRu waited to see what type of pokemon her opponent would use.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it's now time for the 2nd round!" said the Announcer Guy. "Look Pichu, RuRu's up!" said Zach. "Chuu!" Pichu cheered.

"In this Corner, we have RuRu and her Joltik. And in the Other Corner, we have Tien and his Mr. Mime!" the announcer said.

RuRu's Opponent had out a Mr. Mime.

RuRu smiled menacingly, and said to Joltik "Joltik, use our usual opener." Joltik, having used this same opener with every battle yesterday, used thunder wave in an attempt to paralyze the Mr. Mime, and then string shot in an attempt to trip the pokemon up. Such an ungraceful move, if successful, would decrease the foe's points dramatically.

Mr. Mime got stringed up in a Thunder-Wave Combination, quite flashily. "Quite the roundup, I'd say!" said the Announcer. It looked good for some, but not for all. The Points only decreased by a few.

"Mr. Mime, use Phsycic, then Reflect!" said the other Coordinator. The Mr. used a Phsycic power to lift Joltik in a Glow, then Trap it behind a Glass Barrier, which combined with the glow made the room shine.

"Whoa! What a flare!" said the Announcer. RuRu's points decreased, but only past Tien's by 2.

Joltik was caught up in the psychic/reflect combo, but knew how to get out of it, and so did RuRu. With a nod of approval from RuRu, Joltik used protect, smashing the barrier and dissipating the psychic. This resulted in an explosion of beautiful colored light, bringing oohs and ahs from the audience. She then, on RuRu's command, used leech life followed by fury cutter, leaping towards the Mr. Mime.

[I wouldn't 't know, I don't know how to mod contests. I'm trying my best though]

"Wow, what a stunning breakthrough!" said the announcer. More points from Tien

Then more points came out for Joltiks attacks. "And Equally interesting combinations!"

Mr. Mime tried a new technique: using psychic, and then Psychic again.

(No problem, you're doing great. Just remember that this battle is the same as a regular one, but with two ways to lose. Running out of points or fainting.)
In an artful escape, Joltik used string shot, launching herself high into the air. She flew high over the attacks, spinning around. Then, she redirected her string and attached it to the Mr. Mime. She flew towards it on the thread, and used fury cutter.

Fury cutter did splicable bit off damage to Mr Mime, and its escape combined with the attack detained many points. The Mr. Mime then used Mirror Coat and shadow ball.

Luckily Joltik was not affected by the mirror coat, as it did double damage that the last special move did, and Joltik had not used any. She was hit by the shadow ball and was hurt, but she tried her best to make the opponent look bad by using protect from inside the shadow ball, smashing it into glittering pieces. RuRu smiled menacingly at the boy, and told Joltik to use fury cutter again, as the bug-type move would deal extra damage to the Mr. Mime.

Mr. Mime tried to use deflect on the Fury Cutter, but the attack broke through. It broke in colorful sparks. When the cleared, Mr Mime was revealed fainted. The Judges rang their X's, officially ending the match.

"Tough luck!" Said the Announcer. "It looks like this round goes to RuRu and her Joltik!"

(I forgot to point this out earlier, but a pokemon gets 3 exp for every move used in an appeal round. Also, you forgot the exp for this battle)
RuRu smirked at the trainer, and walked back into the waiting room, recalling Joltik. She sat and waited for her next battle.

While RuRu waited, the other two trainers had their turn. During this period, trainers were allowed backstage to visit the contestants. Zach and Pichu came to visit RuRu. "I have to say, that was awsome action out there!" He said
