Flip The Coin! [SHADOW ONLY]

Anton was sure he was lost he had been wandering around for near an hour and the only refuge he had found was in the small town of Odale. However, no where there proved any use and the pokemon center was shut for the time being. He headed south hoping to find someone or something of use to him, so he could go in the right direction to Rustbro City.

Anton noticed a sign for Litteroot Town and cursed his luck. While he didn't know Hoenn that well he knew that Littleroot was a small town that led to nowhere exccpt straight back to Odale. He wished that he was back in Johto. He knew that place like the back of his hand and starting an adventure there would be easy. He took a long sigh before looking up and seeing a trainer coming up. He wished the guy was older but beggars can't be choosers. He hoped he knew more than Anton did about the Hoenn Region.

'Scuse' me' Anton said reluctantly. 'I'm a bit lost can you tell me how to get back to Petalburg?'

Lucky saw the guy and heard his words. He stares at him for some seconds trying to decide whether he should ignore the question and challenge this guy for a match or just help him. "You know there's something called signs and there are a lot of signs right there with arrows and you just have to follow them and ask people around but it seems you really can't find your way... I'd help you but you probably have a Pokemon with you so how about this: We fight, if I win, mind yourself. If you win, I'll help you." offered Lucky. It's a surprise he didn't go for a coin flip like he usually does. He would've just asked the guy heads or tails then state his own rules but he wants a battle so it's a change of plan for now.

Anto could believe this guy. Acting like he was some big shot who knew everything. This is why I dont talk to people, Anton reminded himself. And the guy was full of it, signs in this region were terrible they only told you what route you were on, not where the next town is. Anton initially felt like telling him where to shove his battle but then he thought he might be able to beat some manners into him. Even though this is his first real battle.

'Alright kid, you got yourself a deal.' Anton said patronizingly. 'Tyrouge come on out!' Tyrouge burst out of his pokeball and looked eager to fight. His eyes turned back to Anton looking for instructions.

'Alright Tyrouge I know we haven't had a proper battle yet but this is your chance to prove yourself. Now show this self-centered kid what your made of' Anton knew this would get Tyrouge hyped up for the fight. He knew he could win even if the odds were against him.

'Go ahead' Anton said, sounding confident. 'Do your worse'

'Stop with the coin tricks kid, this is a battle' Anton said. 'Lucks got nothin' to do with it.' Anton hated it when people went on longer than they should, and this kid was a prime example of exactly that. He wasn't waiting around for some kid to flip a coin and pull a rabbit out of a hat. The guy needed to grow up. He wanted a battle, well now he's got one.

'Tyrouge, Brick Break now!' Anton ordered

Anton was a bit taken back by the speed of the Treecko. It seemed a bit bored by the whole battle as it fired an energy ball at Tyrouge. Tyrouge's speed was good but not enough to dodge the blob of energy as it landed a direct hit. Anton realized Tyrouge would have to change tactics if he was going to win this match.

'Alright Tyrouge just like we practiced switch to your defense style!' Tyrouge nodded knowingly and took a defensive stance. The energy ball had hit with some power but it being a special attack and Treecko being a physical attacker, it wasn't going to be a match changer. Anton knew that there would be times where defense would overcome offense and this was one of those times. Anton had taught Tyrouge to wait patiently for the right time to strike, then hit back with a surprise attack.

Anton knew that absorb would drain power quickly, but not if Tyrouge could immediately counter the attack with physical move. He was surprised that the kid could read his tactics so well. It was going to be a difficult match.

'Tyrouge don't just take that, charge at Treecko with tackle attack!' Anton ordered.

The Treecko was underestimating his foe that he just let the attack hit him. His Absorb was canceled. He had to take two steps backward so as not to fall on his back. The Treecko looked at the Tyrogue with its eyes opened only half as if really bored and seeming to taunt the foe. "Pound..." said Lucky getting bored for some reason. Treecko quickly bent his body down, his face almost touching the ground as his big tail tried to pound the foe.

The attack had hit hard but Tyrouge remembered to not get too confident and returned to his defensive stance. Anton smiled as the other trainer ordered a pound attack. A phycical attack, Anton thought. Perfect. Anton need not say a word as these were the openings that Tyrouge had been training for. As Treecko's tail drew closer, Tyrouge's fists began to glow, waiting for Anton's call.

'Now Tyrouge Brick Break!' Anton ordered. Tyrouge almost simultaneously launched his arms directly at Treecko's torso as Treccko's tail neared Tyrouge.

Anton knew absorb wouldn't fully recover Treecko. Still, he couldn't let Treecko get an ounce of energy back in him if he wanted this battle to go in his favor. He looked over at the other trainer, stern faced. He wasn't fooling Anton though. His confidence would be his downfall and he was beginning to realize it himself.

'Tyrouge stop the attack with another tackle attack!' Anton said calmly. While Fake Out would've been perfect, it was sure to fail as it wasn't the first move of the battle. Something Anton should have realized on his first strike.

Anton was shocked by the Treecko's reflex's and his immediate energy ball back at Tyrouge. It was a direct hit at Tyrouge causing him to fall back in a heap. Anton becam concerned and thought that this would be it for Tyrouge. However, Tyrouge struggled through the pain and made it to his feet. Barely. He looked ready to fight but Anton knew it was pointless.

'Forget it, return Tyrouge.' Max said coldly. 'No battles worth injuring my pokemon over. I'll find my own way' Anton carried Tyrouges pokeball in his hands and turned back the way he came, not looking back. He was ashamed, not just because he lost, but because he lost to such an arrogant trainer.

(Treecko gained 10 exp from winning)

"You sure about tha-" he paused seeing the Trainer won't be swayed so he just let it go. "Oh well, a while ago it gave us heads and it looks like its true." said Lucky returning the Treecko as he kept walking around whether another Trainer or a wild Pokemon.

Not far from where the battle had taken place a small grey and black Pokemon, crouched low in the grass, watched the two Trainers as they settled their dispute. The wild Pokemon dare not go any closer, lest he wish to face the wrath of both Trainers and their own Pokemon at the same time, but now that they seemed to be leaving each other, it would be the perfect time to strike.

The puppy Pokemon, known as a Poochyena, waited quietly until Lucky had walked close enough to be confronted. Poochyena leaped from the grass and stood in front of the Trainer, blocking his way and refusing to move without a challenge!

Wild Poochyena appeared! (Male, level 6)

Lucky smiled at the little Poochyena trying to block his way. He smiled even more seeing the Poochyena's determination in its eyes. The eyes are trying to say something, you can read it in the face and the eye of the Puppy Pokemon. He wants a battle. "You're specie are cute but too bad you're challenging me. Come on, fella." he said. Treecko again lazily walked in front of Lucky and stared at the Poochyena in a lazy way. He plucks a stem out of a flower and starts chewing at it. "What you doing?" The Treecko didn't answer. It got in a battle stance still chewing on the stem. "That stem might get in the way. What you doing?" The Treecko looked back at Lucky with an annoyed face as he spitted the stem away and went back to his stance. "That's better. No acting Mr. Epic Pokemon when in a battle. Let's see... Absorb." he said. Good move since Treecko just got himself in a battle just earlier. Treecko's body glow as he try to connect his energy to the Poochyena and drain its energy.

The Poochyena didn't know what to think when he saw the Treecko step into fighting range. It didn't quite look like it was wanting to battle... Poochyena couldn't quite figure out what to do.

It's mind was made up for him, though, when he felt his own energy draining while Treecko began glowing, sucking out the puppy Pokemon's strength.

Poochyena did not take kindly to this little attack. He growled lowly, fixating his eyes upon the grass type Pokemon before charging forward to attack! Pookchyena used Tackle!

Treecko recovering the tiny energy he lost, though not all of it, is now in a fair battle. He might look lazy and idiotic but in one swift jump, he evades the attack and lands behind the Poochyena. "Good, Energy Ball!" said Lucky. Treecko opens his mouth as a small orb started to form. It has the power of Grass Type which he fired towards the Poochyena. A stronger Grass Type attack such as Energy Ball will do a good amount of damage to a Poochyena of his level.

The Poochyena was not at all pleased that it's energy had been stolen like that, and it was even more frustrated when Treecko swiftly dodged the oncoming attack. Even so, the puppy Pokemon was just getting worked up.

Poochyena rolled over, narrowly dodging the Energy Ball that had been hurled toward him. He then turned to face the Grass type, glaring as though his looks could kill.

Taking a deep breath, the Dark type threw its head back and let out a loud howl as if to declare its coming victory! Poochyena used Howl!

Treecko didn't seem worried and just stood there and stared as if nothing happened. As if Poochyena didn't just raise his own Attack stat. Lucky wasn't that worried but he still has to be more careful. "Quick Attack." said Lucky. Poochyena might easily dodge any move Treecko could use so a quick attack like... well... Quick Attack might increase the chance to hit and could follow another attack afterwards then.

Treecko quickly sprinted towards the Poochyena in a ramming stance with its shoulder.

Poochyena was still a bit caught up in his howl of doom when Treecko attacked once again. It caught the puppy Pokemon off guard and pushed him back a few feet.

That one hurt quite a bit, despite how much the Poochyena wished not to believe it. Rising back to his feet, the Dark type growled deeply and rammed forward for another Tackle! Hopefully he'd hit something this time, because he was wearing down rather fast.

Treecko isn't that fast at getting out of one place after just getting there. He jumps back but gets hit and tumbles back. He stands up with a grin, looks like he's feeling it. Too bad it's gonna be over soon. The Treecko got on the same fighting stance which he likes to call the "Treecko Martial Arts" or TMA. "Okay, Treecko. Energy Ball on his ground but don't hit him." said Lucky. He knows his Pokemon is okay. Treecko knew Lucky is planning something knowing any attack can be easily avoided. Treecko once again fires another Energy Ball on the ground near to Poochyena enough for the dust to hit his eye.
