PostSubject: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zTue Feb 24, 2015 11:48 pm

Kire idly walked out of the town border, feeling the crunch of gravel underfoot and smelling the dust in the air. This city and its surroundings were much different than that of Jubilife, but he had by now gotten used to the drastically different setting he's seen throughout the region. He had spent his first year as a dead man wandering, learning what it was like being a trainer... though it seemed like everything was still so new to him.

The sunlight beat down on his back, and it was a welcome heat on an otherwise chilly day. There was an occasional breeze, but nothing to call for him dressing any warmer, so his current attire was a simple dark blue polo and black slacks. His first course of action was finding another Pokemon to suit his team, planning for his first capture. Although his Dark type was powerful with a lithe grace, he needed something that could excel against a Gym Leader that wielded rock types. Something that could either pack a punch or take one without flinching. So, he wandered the city's outskirts, listening for any sign of wild Pokemon nearby...

It was indeed a sunny and hot day in the sinnoh region. Even the pokemon of the forest seemed to want to take a break, a lot of bug pokemon hiding inside the cool shadows that the trees in the area could provide for the pokemon but even then it was still very warm. It was a good thing for the boy that as soon as he would step into the forest it would get a bit cooler, not much but the shadows from the leaves provided the ground and surrounding area to cool down a bit. A soft summer (due to being so warm) breeze went throught the forest taking the scent of the flowers, some combee humming around the forest smelling the flowers and jumping up and down happily as they zoomed further.

However splashes could be heard from the distance. It sounded like water was being splashed. If the guy and the dark type pokemon would be able to get throught the thick barrier of trees, bushes and plants they would come into an open area full of sunlight. However in the middle of the area there was a small pond filled with water that glistened in the rays of the sun. It was filled with pokemon in it sunbathing, even some non water pokemon were in it to cool down.

Kire felt the slight breeze as the scenery took a change. Crunching of rock underfoot gave way to the soft silence of grass and foliage, with the occasional cracking of a leaf or twig with every step. Compared to the industrial stone, he welcomed the change, and breathed in a deep gust of air, taking in the natural smell of the plant life and earth around him. Summer appeased him, and it seemed to bring out the life in the region. Flitting by were the bug Pokemon he identified as Combee, most likely in a swarm to gather up pollen from all of the flowers in the area. He watched them go with little concern, disinterested in a bug type at this time. They were quite entertaining to watch. Perhaps Sinistra would enjoy this as well, he decided, grabbing his only used Pokeball and tossing it into the air, releasing his Liepard.

"Nya?" she glanced curiously at him, looking about the surroundings with a glint in her eyes. Her tail whipped from side to side, and she seemed to be restless after being in her ball for quite a while as Kire traveled. Once deeming that there wasn't an immediate threat, she arched her back to stretch her muscles. Her ears tilted to the side as she heard the sound of splashing water, and she pointed her tail toward the source, getting Kire's attention. Unfortunately, there was little space to wriggle through the foliage in order to reach it without tearing a shirt or getting dirtied.

"I'm afraid I can't risk my attire, we'll have to see if there's any other possible entrance," Kire said, stepping toward the noise. Sinistra rolled her eyes with exaggeration. Gracefully walking up to a large bush nestled between two sturdy oaks, she took a battle stance and began to glow for a moment. Her claws unsheathed, and she suddenly sprung forward, using U-Turn on the plant and making quick work of it, much like the attack would do to a grass-type Pokemon. Before the glow subsided, she then used the power to bound into the air and land beside Kire with a smug look on her face. "That will work," he said, impressed with his own Pokemon's quick thinking.

Stepping through the now opened path, Kire and his Pokemon looked toward the beautiful clearing and Pokemon wandering about and enjoying the sun. The trainer grew warm, and his calculating eyes scanned the clearing, trying to identify any immediate Pokemon. A water type may be ideal, but perhaps something else will catch my eye...

(just a note which will be deleted later, I used the random mumber thing to choose the pokemon :3 so they miiiight be a bit strong and would you mind puttinga lin to your charrie in your sig ?)
The using of the U-turn could of course not go unnoticed, even thought the pokemon were relaxing a lot of them were allways listening for sounds of danger. When the U-turn of the liepard cut the bush it made them get a sign of warning and immediately made the smaller pokemon jump away. As he would get to the place he would hear the rustling of the leaves from the forest pokemon that were now in hiding. There were only three pokemon left. There were obviously the stronger ones cause they werent scared of the trainer at all. Some just kept their eyes closed.

The first one was a average size water pokemon. It had water droplets shimmering on its big back which had a dark blue colur. It had a long kind of tail and its two kind of blue antenna's sticking out of its head. It was a mantine, it wasn't so cocky and confident as the other two as it kept a stern look to the male trainer and his dark feline companion. This pokemon wanted to be sure that he would not make a move that he wouldn't notice as he splashed a bit of water using its sides as a warning not to come any closer.

The second one was not much larger then the mantine and was sunbathing. It was a pokemon also with a dark blue , purpleish kind of back. However when it turned on its stomach to get a look at the Cat like pokemon and his trainer , you would be able to see a kind of red belly. The dragon type pokemon kept one eye open keeping an eye on the trainer just in case. It yawned as it shook his head a bit trying to block a bit of the sunlight with its wing like arm.

The third one , was one of the most muscular pokemon there seemed to be. The pokemon had a greyish colour and it looked like it had a boxing belt on together a kind of a black piece of underwear. It leaned into the shadow, holding its hands behind his the back of his head just relaxing, not even opening an eye to look at the trainer as it only yawned and turned to his side. It seemed cocky showing of his muscles to the human trainer a bit as he only smirked and then turned facing his back to the boy. It was a machamp. These were the only three pokemon left in the area, all the other smaller pokemon had hidden because they were scared of the boy and his feline companion.

(Added, sorry I didn't do so sooner~)

A fighting type is out of the question, at least for the moment. Sinistra is strong and intelligent, but even she couldn't stand for very long from an onslaught of fighting attacks... His eyes focused on the Mantine, but quickly turned to the third option, a smile creeping across his face. A dragon type, quite excellent.

Kire nodded toward the Gabite, and his Liepard took a hesitant step forward. She knew well enough that the wild Pokemon was their current topic, but perhaps reasoning or trickery could make him an easier one... Slowly creeping toward the dragon, she bowed in respect, lowering her tail to show submission toward the stronger Pokemon. Then, she tilted her head toward the waiting trainer, a silent question. Would you like to join us? It didn't hurt to ask, anyway. If the Pokemon refused, well, there were other means of persuasion. Her claws dug into the ground, scraping up small clods of dirt as she and her trainer waited for a reaction.

The dragon pokemon was keeping one eye on the feline from the male trainer as he watched the first hesitant and carefull steps from the pokemon. The sound of the steps barely made any sound in the grass that covered the field. He watched as the pokemon lowered its head and tail to show respect and submission for him. This made the dragon type smile as hee looked at the pokemon. However when she asked to join them he laughed. "I might, but I don't want to go with a weak trainer and his pokemon He told the pokemon as he sneered and looked at the feline. "However if you defeat me in a battle I will join you" He laughed. He sounded very confident that he would be able to take this kitty down.

In the distance stormclouds began t gather, it was still far away and wouldn't affect the pokemon for now but if the battle would take too long they would get caught up in a storm. If they could catch the gabite , it might be able to lead them to a warm and safe place to shelter from it. The pokemon stood up, stretched and got into battle position. The only thing that made a notice from the storm was that the warmth was getting milder, and the wind was a bit more rough however still gentle, breeze a rain like smell throught the area.

A wide, crooked grin spread across Sinistra's face. Weak? that sentiment is amusing. The Liepard took a ready battle position, and upon watching the exchange with a keen curiosity, Kire took his own place off to the side, ready to call commands as trainers do. They both sized the dragon up, coming to the same conclusion. He was confident and powerful... but confidence can be a weakness as well.

"Sinistra," Kire called, "it's a game like all others, and I rarely lose. Ready yourself." The Liepard scoffed, turning her nose up at her trainer's words. He shouldn't doubt her abilities when he was more likely to make a mistake. "Start with a Growl, then use Pay Day," the trainer commanded.

Leaping into action, the Liepard's Prankster ability would come into effect and cause the Growl to quickly come into play as her ferocious growl rumbled in her throat, attempting to lower the Gabite's own attack. Then, her claws began to glow with a golden energy as she sprung at the dragon, swiping with an equal amount of intensity. If it hit, not only would it cause damage, but small coins would scatter around the ground, providing a small amount of money for trainer and Pokemon if the battle was won in their favor. It was a good set of commands, especially for a trainer who was still new at calling such commands. The pair didn't seem to notice the signs of an oncoming storm, too distracted by the battle at hand. Once conditions worsened, however, they would most likely begin to take more notice.

The pokemon watched as he noticed a grin spread on the feline like pokemon's face. This made the dragon type smirk as well. Apparantly this had been the outcome to Cat pokemon had hoped for and found his choice of words amusing to say the least. The Gabite kept eye contact with the pokemon not wanting some unexpected to happen. He knew how sneaky these kinds of pokemon could be and he didn't want to miss a moment in case he would do a kind of sneaky trick on him.

However this dragon type pokemon was no pokemon to think more of himself then he actually was. He knew he was strong so a bit of boasting like the liepard was doing of course wouldn't be out of place. However he wondered if the boy and his companion would think that he was stupid, dragon types could learn a very variety of moves which made him able to black or counter a lot that he would send at him. He didn't take his eyes of the pokemon as the trainer gave the first command.

The prankster ability from the pokemon indeed had a lot of help giving the move more speed which allowed it to go first as he could hear a roar coming from the pokemon. He didn't move a muscle and kept his eyes on the pokemon until he could see the claws coming closer and used sand attack whipping up sand in the Liepard's face. When that was done the claws of the pokemon began to give of a white light as it was getting ready to use dual chop. Once it was ready he jumped up, crossed his claws and from the air began to fall down to the pokemon ready to slash it up with the two glowing claws. He had used the tactic, of first distracting his opponent, then dissapearing from view for a bit. It was allways helpfull and maybe this was something that would allow him to hit his opponent.

PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zMon Mar 23, 2015 8:06 pm

Perhaps it had been Sinistra that was the overconfident one. The Liepard had felt a surge of success as her Growl had taken effect. When she lunged with her full strength, ready to face the dragon with her own claws, she was caught off guard. Suddenly, a cloud of sand whipped up, forcing her eyes to close as she flintched her head back from the stinging sand. Her eyes burned, and it gave the Gabite plenty of opportunity to disappear and ready his attack. While the feline was fighting to open her eyes, the falling slash of the Dual Chop was enough to send her reeling and deliver quite a bit of damage as it struck twice.

Sinistra struggled to get to her feet, and her tail lashed from side to side. If it weren't for the Growl, she would have been in even more of a bind. Realizing this, the Liepard didn't hesitate in grumbling her throat in another Growl attack, again amplified from her ability. Kire was softly biting the corner of his lip, pondering his next move.

"Because of your loss of sight and ultimately accuracy, let's try a Fury Swipes," he said, finding it a logical move. The attack itself wasn't super powerful, but the array of clawswipes in rapid succession would make aim less of an issue and cover a wider attack space.

Leaping toward Gabite, Sinistra's vision was blurry, but her keen sense of smell allowed her to narrow down the area the dragon most likely way. After her jump, she lashed out with a flurry of claws, swiping at her foe with wide archs, hoping that at least one or two would impact the Gabite.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zThu Apr 16, 2015 7:33 pm

It would seem that the shark like dragon was smarter than it appeared, its combination without a trainer would only go to show exactly how well trained it was, battling from a gible and growing in to the powerful semi complete form. It had done this via the use of tactics it had learned all on its own. If it was capable of this alone, imagine the capabilities if this trainer were to catch it and train it himself. Any at the battle in hand, the ground/dragon hybrid would release a roar of power, this roar of power was not to show its strength but to activate a move. This move was known as Sandstorm. From its roar, sand would seem to erupt around it and dance in to the air. The sand eventually duplicating over and over again until a sandstorm was in full swing. This sandstorm had an added ability, or should we say the dragons ability was known as Sand veil and it increased the dragons evasiveness by 20%.

This with the fact the dark type pokemon had also suffered vision loss would make the dragon much harder to strike, even with the fury swipes which were utilized to avoid it allowed the dragon type to swerve and move out of the way of almost every strike. The dragon would move beautifully, its graceful moves showing of its footwork. Many would not believe that the dragon was able to move like this. It would then allow itself to push away from the dark type, sliding across the ground as it distanced itself. Wincing gently it would seem the fury swipe had landed exactly two hits, the wide arcs having done its job in making it harder to avoid. Growling in annoyance at the strike the dragon type pokemon would stand.

"Gaaaabite, bite bite gabite ga ga bite GAABIITE" it would yell, to the trainer that is what he would hear, unless he was able to understand the pokemon, Sinistra on the other hand would be able to understand the dragon type. "Not bad, your not as weak as i thought, but wildly hitting aint gonna getcha no were, your finished pussy cat". That would be the translation and upon its ending, the dragon would open its mouth, straining as it forced power in to its mouth and out. Inches from its large open jaw, a ball of what looked like a perfectly contained fireball would form, growing larger and larger. Upon expanding to its full size the ball of dragon energy would be released. The dragon rage flying forward aiming to strike the cat pokemon in all its glory.

Kire was impressed by the dragon Pokemon's grace in movement. It was quite clear that his first foe was a formidable one. It held graces not like his Liepard, whom was light on her feet with sleek, almost serpentine movements. No, the dragon knew itself well, knew what it was capable of, knew just how to fight efficiently and beautifully. Still, it was a wild creature, and a foe. He couldn't dawdle by gawking at the battle all day. Things were already taking a turn for the worse, and the trainer only then realized that he may actually lose this fight. And that was unacceptable. The biting sting on his lip worsened as he watched the sand lift into the air in a furious whirl, simulating sandstorms that often caught weary travelers in deserts.

Kire wasn't used this sort of weather in the slightest, and even flinched as the biting grains of sand and dust began to bite into his skin and cause his shirt to suddenly flap violently in the harsh winds. So much for maintaining my attire, he thought with a groan, seeing the sand cling to the fabric  and make it less than up to his own standards. He was quite irritated now. Sinistra, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind the sand, though it was whittling down her own already lowered health as more time went by. At this point, not only was the Gabite faster, but if they didn't hurry, the weather would be enough to eventually finish her off. Her tail lashed from side to side and a grimace passed her face as she let out a slight hiss of irritation. She was outmatched, but not one to give in until she was finished.

"Pard, liepard." Was her response, and it held a tone of irritation. Don't count your eggs before they hatch, cocky dragon. The Dragon Rage was truly a sight to behold, and its fiery form shone even through the whipping sand that clawed at the cat and tried to push her to the side with its force. Was this the end? She didn't want to consider that option. Instead, she thought back to how they got into the clearing in the first place. She needed to dodge, and quickly, and there was no doubt that the attack would hone in on her if she simply ran. Instead, she glowed with a green energy, her claws expanding, and used U-Turn on the ground right in front of her. Right as the Dragon Rage was about to connect, she suddenly felt herself fly backwards, out of the way of the attack as it came crashing down. If she had had another teammate, she would have swapped places with them, but because she was on her own, the attack seemed to work as an effective retreat. Of course, with the speedy and cunning dragon, she doubted she could pull of a trick such as what she did more than once. She'd need to be inventive if she wanted to stand at least a slight chance. She looked toward Kire for his command.

"He's faster now," Kire pondered, seeming to have regained at least some of his composure, "but that doesn't mean a thing if you can help it. Pursuit, Sinistra, it still will maintain a priority." Nodding, the Liepard's claws extended and began to glow with a black energy, radiating off of them in a dark mist. She bound toward Gabite with new-found speed and swiped at him, attempting to land a Pursuit attack before he can react or retaliate with an attack of his own. One slip up, and the battle would be lost for her and Kire.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zSun Apr 19, 2015 6:12 pm

It was now the dragon type pokemons turn to be impressed, strength was not simply measured in physical ability, the strength of the trainer whom showed adoration and trust within his pokemon, the pokemon whom was willing to follow the trainer through anything and know how to utilize moves in such uncommon ways. All of this was strength, in the awe of watching such power and of course in awe of the use of U-turn, the dragon type pokemon had failed to move from its spot after its initial attack had been avoided. The sandstorm would still of course strike the cat like pokemon, but that minor damage would only do so much. it was obvious that the cat was coming to the end though its determination was admirable. As the black energy coated claws struck the dragon it would release a roar. It had been unable to avoid due to the speed, even with its increased evasion. it was impressive. The dragon though injured was not to bad off compared to the cat whom was battling the weather.

Though this move, Pursuit would be the last move used in this battle. The two had done it, they had forced the dragon to admit defeat. If this battle were to continue the dragon type may have walked away as the victor in terms of the battles victory, but the loser in terms of an over all future. "You fight good cat, this fights over. I lose" The dragon would state, once more the trainer would of course only hear the repeated name in short and large bursts of the dragon pokemon. But with it no longer moving it simply glared at the trainer through the sandstorm. Its eyes connecting with the human before allowing its menacing face to curl up in a rather terrifying smile, yup he was a dragon, even when trying to be friendly he still looked fierce.

Kire blinked in surprise, though one could argue that the storm was also at fault, at the turn of events that transpired. Before he could fully comprehend what occurred, he caught sight of Sinistra relaxing her crouched position and give her fore-paw one lick, eyeing the Gabite with a mischievous gleam. Of course, respect was also present in her eyes. Both of them were aware of the fact that, had the battle continued, the dragon would have emerged victorious. It was a pleasure, Sinistra replied in the tongue that was unknown to her trainer, I'm glad we picked you as our foe. She turned her head toward Kire and flicked her tail to point toward the grinning, yet off-putting, Gabite.

Once he realized that both seemed to have come to a conclusion of the fight and seeing that the dragon truly had stopped his fighting, Kire retrieved a Pokeball from his bag. Their eyes met, and the smile that the Pokemon pulled sent a shudder down his spine as he realized just how sharp and dangerous the dragon's teeth could be. He would truly make for an effective and powerful ally. He returned the smile, allowing the corner of his lip to turn up while he tossed the empty Pokeball toward Gabite. Once he got results of the capture attempt, it would be safe to return Sinistra for a rest, caution was always a smart bet.

"The pleasure was mine" replied the dragon type pokemon. The dragon type would watch as the ball came for it, its soft touch opening the ball before being enveloped in a light mixed with the feelings of the one whom threw it. the ball would float in mid air and shake violently a single time. The small ding of the successful capture would sound as the dragon type allowed itself to become one with the trainer.

Kire was quite pleased with himself as he watched the ball finally come to a halt, showing that the capture had been a success. Before retrieving it, he lifted the Pokeball of Sinistra's and returned her, watching the cat Pokemon disappear into a white, glowing energy. It'd get her out of the sandstorm, at least. Then, and walked over and retrieved the ball that now contained the Gabite: his first successful capture. A hint of pride welled in his chest. It was another task completed and bested by him, but unlike most others, he wasn't alone in it. The true victory belonged to Sinistra, and he wasn't dense and prideful enough to realize that it couldn't have happened without the Liepard's efforts. "Thank you, Sinistra," her murmured to the cat's Pokeball, resting in his left hand while the right held the ball of the Gabite.

"I'll call you Thresh, if that's quite alright," he said toward the Gabite's ball, noticing that the sand was finally starting to ebb away, and at that moment, he finally realized that the air smelled strongly of incoming moisture and the wind that had been so effective at stirring up the sands wasn't all because of the attack: there truly was a rainstorm coming. It had already began to mist the air in moisture, and in the distance, the crack of thunder rippled through the air. Glancing down at his dirtied shirt, the trainer sighed deeply. Water, when used correctly, did well at removing things such as sand and dust. Rain water, however, was untamed and dirty itself, not something ideal to add to the casualty that was his poor, powerless polo. He quickly clasped the weakened Pokemon to his belt and made a hasty walk toward where he had come from the clearing. He didn't notice any wild Pokemon, and it was probably safe to assume they had all already taken shelter.

Jogging as best he could, and now clearly out of breath, Kire found his way back into town just as the downpour released all of its rage. The winds around him hissed violently and brought down a torrent of weighty water drops with every strike of lightening and boom of thunder. As quick as he could, he dashed to the Pokemon Center's automatic doors and rushed inside once they slid apart and allowed him entry. His shoulders shook with tired breaths and he surpassed a groan as he took in the shirt that not only was now covered in wet, mud-like grains now, but was completely soaked and almost dripping with water, clinging to his body and sending a chilled shudder along his upper body. He had no intentions of drawing any attention to himself, but he was clearly something that would stand out, at least until another traveler caught in the storm burst into the Pokemon Center... if only he could be that lucky.

Regaining his composure as well as his breath, he strolled toward the desk and the Nurse and set the two Pokeballs onto it. "Would you be so kind as to bring these guys back to full strength?" he asked coolly, deciding acting normal would make people disinterested in him. "It would be much appreciated."

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zWed Apr 22, 2015 6:58 pm

The male would not encounter another soul while he jogged to the centre. In his wet and wonderful clothing he would open the door to find an almost empty room. The pokemon centre was completely removed of people all but nurse joy whom would smile sweetly upon the person entering. Her hands moved, writing on a pad in front of her, yet she did not look at the pad. Instead she kept her smile and gaze upon the male whom would come to her. She would cough when the male said guys masking the duel information."Why of course, that's why i'm here," she would say, As she took the pokeballs she would place them in to the machine. Using her elbow she would prod the pad hoping the boy would realize that this meant READ IT.

If his gaze were to fall to the pad it would read, "Being held hostage, thieves in back", you see another strange action was that nurse joy never moved her lower body, when she turned to the healing machine she simply moved her waist and placed the pokemon within. She gulped as she pushed the button, the sound ringing through the deserted centre much louder than usual. Upon the healing being completed the nurse would snatch the balls up as a hand of purple shot from the floor. Throwing them at the trainer the nurse would then be enveloped in a purple slime like substance. Her hand falling to her side as she seemed to be totally absorbed. Footsteps would soon be heard running, the machine having alerted them to the presence of someone. the face of the Muk would become evident as it bellowed its name. The foot steps drawing nearer as a single person came to investigate. Seeing the muk swallowing the nurse he would understand, this was a sign that the nurse had betrayed them. "Oi boy, your in for it now" the green headed male would state, his attire was that of black with a pinkish red R upon it showing his allegiance was to that of Team Rocket. The kanto based organisation, why were they in Sinnoh? The male would release a pokeball from his hand that would soon reveal the pokemon known as Mothim, the muk also his pokemon would make this a two on two pokemon battle with a twist, how could the boy hit Muk without hurting the nurse within.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zWed Apr 22, 2015 10:34 pm

Smiling toward the Nurse, Kire was first too preoccupied with his own clothing dilemma to notice the oddity of the vacant Pokemon Center. He had returned the Nurse's smile and handed her his Pokemon without care. He did note it strange that she began writing in the middle of their transaction, but didn't catch the fact that she didn't even glance at the note. His eyes then began to wander with mild curiosity, finally grasping the fact that he was the only one around, but it hadn't yet been enough to raise too many concerns, just relief that he hadn't caught too much of a spotlight. Perhaps his luck had been maintaining itself at its peak, but he chuckled at the notion. There wasn't such a thing as luck. He heard the tapping of paper against the woman's elbow, and after realizing that it was a motion to catch his attention, his eyes peered downwards, reading the words scrawled hastily into the page.

He couldn't even react before the Muk attacked and the Nurse hurtled his Pokemon back toward him, and he stumbled to catch the two Pokeballs before they clattered to the ground and rolled away, that would be less than ideal. He watched as the Pokemon consumed the Nurse in a matter of seconds and called out, alerting whoever would be around that there was an intruder or good Samaritan around. Of course, Kire wasn't one to call himself the 'good guy' but the current situation required his action, especially when the Rocket member came strolling in and issued a challenge. Kire narrowed his eyes, he would never back down from a challenge. That, and there was the matter of the slowly suffocating Nurse, he had to do something about that, too.

"Heh, am I?" Kire asked rhetorically, tossing both of his Pokeballs into the air and releasing Sinistra and Thresh. Both seemed aware of what had transpired, as they already assumed battle positions and gave each other challenging looks. The Pokemon Center was not an ideal battle location, but they didn't have much of a choice. "I'm not sure what it is about criminals, but their interactions with me never end in their favor. Only my own," Kire mused, trying to get a rise out of the Grunt while he calculated his best course of action, "you've lost this before it's even began." He was smug and confident, noting that it was probably a better idea to show bravado in front of the Rocket and not fear, some intimidation would help distract from the fact that he was entirely caught off guard and didn't quite know what to do just yet.

"Let's get right into things, shall we? Sinistra, use Torment on that unsightly Pokemon, we wouldn't want him to do things too easily. Don't get near just yet, I'm not sure of the extent he can use the poor woman as a shield, and I'd rather not cause too much harm. Thresh, take care of that pesky bug."

Sinistra was the first to act, swiping her tail to the side, her eyes narrowed and gleamed with malicious intent. Her voice almost became hypnotic as she spoke to the Muk, attempting a Torment that would prevent him from using the same move twice in a row. Thresh, meanwhile, Stood beside the cat Pokemon and glared toward Mothim. A flickering ball of draconic fire formed above his head, a Dragon Rage, though due to their current battling space, it was no means as glorious as the one he had used before in his fight against Sinistra. This one was compact, but deadly. It would still do the job. The Dragon Rage suddenly rushed toward Mothim when Thresh pointed a single claw toward the moth Pokemon. He didn't need to exercise the same caution that Sinistra had to with his opponent, and if it hit, the attack would surly hurt.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zThu Apr 23, 2015 6:08 pm

A gentle slight smile curved upon the rockets face, his pokemon looked different from the care free wild ones, there malice was evident upon each face. it was a show of a true pokemon trainer when the pokemon they held developed features and personas similar to the one they called master. It was evident by the face of the Gabite that it had not yet developed a bond like this, the cat based pokemon on the other hand showed something to the grunt, that was the pokemon to truly watch out for, The muk was kind of halted in its position not being able to do any close based battling due to holding prisoner the suffocating nurse whom would soon lose her grip upon a concious state and soon the end of her miserable and pathetic life.

The smile would continue on his face even while his Muk was subjected to the torment, the dragon was the one whom he had to do something about first. The pokemon of dragon and ground combination had free rain to attack. "Mothim, protect" the grunt would utter, the moth pokemon releasing a shining aura that would take the attack for it. protected from any harm it would simply float around gleefuly batting its wings to stay afloat. "Move mothim, Muk Sludge Wave" he would utter. Upon these commands the flightly pokemon would glide gleefully backwards making it behind the Muk while at the same time being far enough away to not caus it any hindrance. "SolarBeam" he would utter.

The Muk would act upon the Mothim moving backwards, its mouth opening revealing the hand of the nurse joy, it would soon vanish from the vast amount of poisonous liquid that would shoot from its mouth, covering not only the majority of the pokemon centre in front of it but spreading out to strike not only the dark type pokemon but at the same time the ground type dragon. As the vast wave descended the pokemon of bug would beging to shine gold.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zFri Apr 24, 2015 12:29 am

At first Kire thought things weren't going well. He had little use of attacks that could perform minimal damage to the facility and to the current hostage, and it was clear that the criminal was playing dirty to get what needed to be done as quick as possible. But then, it dawned. Why was he playing fair against a criminal? He wasn't a hero, and he didn't need to follow some self-righteous moral code, and although he had seen the Center as a less than ideal location to hold this confrontation, perhaps his view had changed. The issue at the moment was the woman trapped in the Muk's grasp. While she was there, he couldn't allow his Pokemon to do any serious fighting against the poison type, and there was the issue that it could already be slowly killing her. Get rid of the human shield and he could go for an all-out assault. Attacking the Pokemon would have to wait, though. If the Rocket was fighting dirty, so would he. He knew what to do.

The far scattering Sludge Wave veered toward his duo of Pokemon, but he hadn't needed to call the common sense command to dodge. While Sinistra tensed her muscles and pushed herself off into a jump, but the attack proved too wide-spread for either to dodge in the end. Both Sinistra and Thresh were hit, but neither seemed to show signs that the toxic attack had caused them any poisoning. It was a bright side, Kire supposed. He needed to strategize better, and the room around them was littered with so much potential not found in the open spaces outside. But first, the Nurse.

"Sinistra," he called, "do you remember what you used last in your battle against Thresh?" It was rhetorical, but he didn't want to allude the Rocket to any of his plans, so vagueness was to his advantage. "I want you to use it to take a hostage of our own." A smile crossed his face. "Thresh, quickly, get on top of the desk and use one more Dragon Rage while the bug takes in light, then take cover underneath." The two Pokemon heeded their instructions, and it was Thresh who first acted. The Gabite jumped into the air and with a keen precision, landed upon the desktop that usually separated patrons from the Nurses. The same fireball as before formed, glowing and flickering in different hues of blue, and he launched it toward Mothim once more before allowing himself to slip off of the back of the desk and land behind it, ducking as he did so to provide a barrier between him and the others. He turned his sights to the spots he was still vulnerable in. He held an advantage now because the bug would have to come to him in order to attack, and he readied a Dual Chop, his claws beginning to glow. If there were any signs of the bug, he'd attack with that as well, hoping to do more damage before the Solar Beam is released.

Sinistra, meanwhile, would pull the same trick as she did against Thresh, though for different means. Because her teammate was battling as well, there was nothing to send her to her Pokeball, so she'd go sprawling backwards like before. Her claws began to extend and glow green, and she leapt. Not toward Muk, but toward the Rocket member. She attempted to catch him by surprise and pounce on him in order to get a grip on the collar of his uniform's shirt. Regardless of if she was successful, she'd spring backwards once more, either dragging the man along with her or as a retreat before he could do any damage himself. If she did manage to drag him back away from his Pokemon, she would hold one fine claw to his throat, glaring at the Muk. Her message would be clear, release your hostage and we release ours. Then we'll see who's the true winner.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zFri Apr 24, 2015 12:11 pm

Mothim would continue to channel sunlight, the pokemon that danced within the air, feelign the warmth artificial sun light it was creating fill itself up. The dragon type pokemon would be its opponent for now and upon its jump would be charging another dragon rage. Sadly it would not have the chance to release its dragonic rage at the moth like pokemon. "MUK DISABLE THAT RAGE" shouted the trainer of the evil pokemon. The Muk, still holding the nurse hostage would allow its entire body to shine a beautiful purple as it glared at the dragon type whom would be attempting the dragon rage. This disable move would force the move to become locked, its current use would dissipate and the moth would be left to fight on.

Sadly though this meant the rocket had left himself wide open, his eyes left the cat pokemon and now looked at his own. This mistake would cost him, as the dark type would strike his body with the bug type move and drag him across the ground. Upon the green hue fading he would find himself at the mercy of the cat type pokemon and the silent exchange between the Muk and the dark type would happen.

It would be thanks to this that Mothim was struck by the duel chop, the powerful dragon type move hitting it twice and forcing it to strike the floor hard. The pokemon with the bug type nature releasing a cry of pain as it was struck. It would seem the tide of the battle had changed and the Muk would be forced to release the nurse. It would do so while at the same time using a move, Minimize. Turning itself in to a rather small almost unseeable being. With the nurse beginning to fall, would the trainer allow her to come to injury from the fall? Muk hoped not for its tiny form moved under the counter and aimed a single attack at the cat pokemon. From its tiny mouth a massive bomb of sludge was released, hopefully to save its trainer.

Kire smiled as his and Sinistra's work forced the Nurse's release. She was too far away for either of his Pokemon to take much action to help break her fall, and he was not physically fit enough for the needed reaction time, and he could only look on with a small, apologetic wince as she would most likely tumble to the floor. Of course, it was better than death, wasn't it? Besides, it also meant that, in Kire's mind, the woman now owed him a favor for saving her, a favor that he would keep in case he needed to cash it in sometime later. Nurses had reaches far beyond what he could possibly make on his own. It would come in handy later, once this mess was settled.

"Make sure she gets to safety, Sinistra, I doubt the Muk's size would allow much, but it is better to play it safe. We got what we wanted, release the trainer. If he tries anything more against either of us, you have my permission to do whatever is necessary to see to it that he regrets such a decision." Nodding, the Liepard sprung forward and bounded toward where the nurse was most likely either catching her breath or scrambling away from the battle. Sinistra's reaction was quick, and doing so she was able to dash away and duck under the incoming attack fired by the Muk. Of course, she was no longer in between the attack and the Rocket, so whether the human could dodge it wasn't her problem, it was his. She would take position so that she'd be in between the Nurse and the Muk, and she crouched into a huntress's pose. Although her enemy was small, she was a cat Pokemon, and they were akin to pouncing on smaller, hidden prey. It would be more difficult, but not impossible. Her claws began to grow gold and sparkle with every angle of the Center's artificial light filtering in from above. They shone with a golden gleam, and she sprung like a cat would against a mouse, attempting to pounce on the Muk using Pay Day. If it hit, coins would also scatter off from her claws to the floor of the Center, as good as money for her Trainer to collect afterwards.

Thresh grunted as his Dragon Rage dissipated before it could be more effective, but seeing as the Dual Chop hit, and Kire seemed more distracted with commanding Sinistra, not yet used to keeping track of two Pokemon at once, the dragon took matters into his own claws. He couldn't use his Sand Tomb to keep the bug out of the air due to its Flying type, so he had to stick with more brute forced attacks. A gamble, he decided, was a good fit. He was weakened by the poison attack from earlier, but he was still in moderate health, and could at least risk some damage to himself. The bug was still too distracted by channeling light, a process that seemed slowed due to the lack of sunlight within the room. A Solar Beam would put him in a though spot, even with his Dragon side keeping the attack from being super effective. There was no doubt that if it struck him, it would either cause him to faint or bring him down to the brink. There was no room for hesitation as he sprung up and attempted to drive the but Pokemon to the ground in a wreckless, but powerful tackle, a Take Down attack. If he missed, he wouldn't feel any of the recoil and recover from his leap, but if it hit, he would take damage as well due to slamming his foe so roughly into the ground. It was risky move, but one that'll do some damage before Thresh could see his own defeat.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zWed Apr 29, 2015 7:41 pm

The grunt would realize, this had gone completely wrong. Thankfully he was sure his team mates would hear the noise and escape. Darkness would cover his vision as his own pokemons attack struck him. he would be unable to dodge and this strike would halt any more commands to his pokemon. They were defeated, though of course this did not halt the trainer from striking them down. Muk would take the pay day attack, its eyes located on its trainer. Worry would show in its small face and the pain from the attack seemed minimal as it struck its body. The coins that fell equated up to $300, but the Muk would simply continue to move to its trainer before turning, intent on defending him.

The mothim would be in a tight spot, it would seem it had a single chance. The solar beam would not be fired, the energy absorbed diminishing from its body. It would take a chance at ordering itself, it would seem its luck kicked in as protect covered it once more, the powerful body move connecting with the shield and not the moth, this allowed the moth to take to the skies and use its flight speed to return to its trainers side. Upon returning to this side, the muk would release a wave of poison based gas to obscure the vision of the foes. While the mothim hitched itself to the trainer and the small muk oozed itself to the skin. Flying low and quickly the mothim would show strength as it dragged the trainer outside. A screech would be heard, one that came from Aerodactyle, a pokemon that was not here previously, the grunt would be secured by the fossil pokemon and the mothim would fly beside it. The balloon located high in the sky would float gently, balloon may be to loose a word but a blimp it was. The mission had been a success, the pokemon centre now contained no pokeballs. The pokemon had been stolen. What would happen now?

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zTue May 05, 2015 8:57 pm

(I'm introducing Kire's adoptive Pokemon to keep him invested into the plot, if you want things done differently, just let me know and I'll be happy to edit ;3)

Kire's jaw clenched as the room suddenly filled with a noxious, purple gas that obscured almost everything. His eyes were forced shut by his own reaction, and a wreaking cough forced its way out of his throat. He fumbled for Thresh and Sinistra's Pokeballs and returned the two, not too keen on having them feel any ill effects of the Grunt's escape plan. His irritation was clear: fleeing was the Grunt's best move, but it left him and his Pokemon deprived of precious experience... and there was the theft, he figured that was important as well. As he shook the jacket off of his shoulders and held it against his face in order to chase out at least some of the toxic fumes, he remembered that he wasn't quite alone in the room. Recalling his Pokemon kept them from any harm, but there was still the nurse. His jacket muffled his sigh.

"You'd best head to the back room to see what damage has been done," he said, though his words were still obscured by his jacket, only slightly audible. He decided to speak instead of trying to make a fool of himself by fumbling along the Center and tripping over everything in an attempt to find her. She knew the Center much greater than he did, so she'd most likely be able to actually navigate the place. "Go call the authorities if you haven't already."

Kire himself already felt light headed and his mind screamed to get out of the place. The only way he knew for sure lead to the sliding door leading to the outside world, and he stumbled toward it, half walking-half jogging toward it. With one more cough forcing its way through his throat, he felt the cool touch of glass, though the gas seemed to have messed with the censor and caused it to not recognize a person who needed through. Instead, he slid his hand along the pane and found where they met, wrenching them apart and pushing the door enough to create a gap for both him and some of the gas to escape. As he made it through, he kept holding the door open enough to grab a decent sized rock and sticking it in the gap, forcing the doors to not quite close in order to help ventilate the building.

Once out things seemed not quite... right. Though the rain had stopped, there were still massive clouds in the sky, and yet, he was shadowed by something even obscuring the dimmed sun that usually filtered through the clouds. This brought his attention to the sky, and that's when he took in the blimp and truly realized the scale of the operation he had inadvertently meddled with. "Hm," he hummed in thought, "I can't help but marvel at the machine, perhaps I'll get my hands on one after I bore of being a Trainer." He couldn't sit and marvel for long, though, as he felt a tug at his pant-leg. Glancing down, he noticed quite a curious sight: a Pokemon very unfamiliar to him. It was round, looked to be a grass type. It too was looking toward the blimp, though its eyes burned with some sort of courageous determination. There didn't need to be words to tell what it wanted to say. Take me up there.

How humorous, Kire thought, it thinks I'm some sort of hero. Still, it was an intriguing yet risky notion, trying to play the hero. Thresh and Sinistra were still in meager health, and he couldn't quite gauge this new Pokemon's strengths. Nor could he quite comprehend how to get up into the blimp. "The reward must outweigh the risk," Kire murmured toward the Quilladin, "it's not quite a game worth playing if you know you've lost before you've begun. There's no way I can get up there, anyway. However," the thought suddenly presented itself, "though we have no power to do much now, I may in the future. So, you can play for the short-term and wait for another passers by or the authorities, or come along with me and beat them yourself." It was a logical offer, one that benefited both sides. Kire would gain a Pokemon, another tool in his arsenal, and there were great chances that he may not even see the Rockets again considering they were terrorists of a different region. His promise would not have to be met unless the rare chance of running into Team Rocket occurred again. Sure, now he'd actually have to take action against them even if the risk was too high for his liking, but he'd have room to work with. And he loved a challenge.

Quilladin considered his words for a moment, staring up at the analytic human before nodding his head and holding a white and red sphere toward the trainer. Seems the Pokemon had been already captured by someone before. For a moment, Kire was bewildered, but it did make sense. It wasn't a Pokemon native to Sinnoh. Perhaps it was coincidence for it to be so close to the Center at this time of need, or maybe the two were tied more deeply in with one another. There was no way of Kire knowing, nor any way of figuring it out. All he could do was accept the offer, taking the orb. Before he could return the Pokemon, Quilladin shook his head from side to side in a 'no'. He was still hesitant about Kire, and rightfully so.

The two continued to watch the blimp. As much as Kire would solidify his new agreement with Quilladin, unless some means of getting up to it presented themselves, the could do nothing but watch it fade away with the stolen Pokemon in tow... only time would tell which would be the case.

And So, the Games Begin Empty

Thankfully, the nurse was un-harmed from the fall and even came too, the bad guys had escaped and with her thankful eyes she would dart to the back room, it had been completely raided and not a single pokemon had remained, many of those pokemon did not belong to trainers but were wild pokemon brought in by trainers. They were captured yes but upon healing were released back in to the wild due to the pokeballs release system. She would push the silent alarm to alert the officers whom would descend soon. Returning to her position and to the outside area the nurse would stare at her saviour. "Thank you, thank you so much for your help, i know you didn't have to help me but you did either way. Could you wait here?" the nurse would ask, "I have something to give you" she would say before vanishing back in to the centre.

She would return seconds later, a large smile upon her face, the wooden box in hand, she would then hand the box to the trainer. "When i was a young girl, i found this beautiful treasure, heard rumours about a pokemon who owned this item before hand. I could never discover if it was true so keeping it seems pointless now, perhaps you can found a use for it." she would say, upon opening the box a faint glow of moonlight lit up the object within, the glow of moonlight radiating from a single feather. "the lunar wing". From the distance sirens could be heard closing in quickly.

And So, the Games Begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: And So, the Games Begin   And So, the Games Begin H6Q0F8zFri May 29, 2015 12:19 am

"Oh, er, you're welcome," Kire replied to the nurse, seemingly off-put by her enthusiastic thanks. He hadn't expected to linger long enough to encounter her again, but it seemed it was fortunate to have remained. He waited, as instructed, and his curiosity was enough for him to not wander off in retreat. He watched her vanish back into the Center and emerge moments later, grinning. As she closed the space between them and offered him the box, he listened to his words and didn't hesitate to accept the gift. Consider our debt paid, then, he thought to himself. Lifting the lid to the box, he was taken aback by the sight of the Lunar Wing.

He remembered the childhood stories, bright pictures and happy words speaking of somber subjects. Nightmares, rivalries, and a constant, bloodthirsty cycle between the creator of Nightmares and the hero of dreams that could stop them with the power of one lone feather. The feather that was currently within his possession. He slid the lid closed and placed the box carefully into his pack. "It seems now is the time for me to thank you, I will try and find that use," he said curtly but with a genuine smile of excitement. He was beginning to hear the sirens quickly approaching and his lip slightly lifted in distaste. "Pardon my haste, but I must now take my leave... I'm sure you can give them a statement about what transpired here, I'd rather... keep of the record." Without elaborating, he turned from the nurse and began to move away from the Center in a quickened walk. Sure she knew his appearance, but not his name, so he figured anything she gave in her statement wouldn't point a giant finger toward him. It would be quite irksome if either his name spread around or even if Team Rocket got an inkling of his true identity. He was, after all, supposed to be a dead man.

His walk brought him to a set of glass, sliding doors leading into the Oreburgh Gym. He was now confident that with his third addition to his team, he'd be more than well equip to face Roark. His mind was already looking ahead, now that he was in a battle where the opponents and arena would be more predictable. Before stepping inside, he slid his ornate festival mask over his face, running a hand through his hair so that it was no longer caught beneath the accessory. It did well to hide his face to both keep himself from being recognizable to the Gym Leader in the future but also mask himself from any stray cameras that could capture the fight. He also slid his dark cloak over his current attire, making him quite the sight but at the same time leaving nothing noteworthy about what lay beneath both items. Now stepping into the Gym, he noticed that the Quilladin had not strayed far from him, and now stood beside his legs taking in the sight of the Gym's interior with a mystified expression.

"Roark," Kire steadily called out, "I wish to challenge you. You may call me Ultio, and I wish to obtain the Coal Badge."
