Appearance:

Mia has chocolate brown hair that is chin length on her right hand side, and shoulder length on her left hand side, and a full fringe that covers her forehead. Her hair is in a scruffy bob shape around the back of her head, and it has numerous cowlicks that stand up in various directions. She has golden tanned skin from taking plenty of outside naps, is around 5’10 in height, and weighs around 168 pounds. She has dark green eyes, and has long but sparse eyelashes. Her face is slightly puffy and childlike in appearance.

Mia can usually be seen wearing a sleeveless (or with long sleeves depending on the weather) burgundy polo neck jumper that ends just below her hips. Over her poloneck, Mia has a belt that she keeps her Pokéballs on for easy access. She wears baggy black Capri pants with plenty of pockets underneath, and has a black watch on her right arm. On her feet, she wears black and white running shoes, with burgundy ankle socks underneath. On her head, she wears a pair of black sunglasses with silver diamante flowers on them. She has each ear pierced 4 times, all with studs in them.


Personality:

Mia loves a challenge, and decided to become a Poison type Trainer to give her the challenge she seeked. She enjoys talking to people, reading books, sleeping, eating and being a general lazy individual. She dislikes Psychic type Pokémon, as she is afraid of them reading her mind. She is big into conspiracy theories, and this can make her come across as a bit of a strange individual.

Mia enjoys jokes, and Pokémon puns, and if she starts off on a ramble about puns, it’s difficult to get her to stop. Actually, if she starts rambling at all, it’s hard to get her to stop. She enjoys talking to everyone and anyone about anything that crosses her mind. She’s very social able. However, she also craves company and hates being alone. She’s terrified of having people hate her, and not wanting anything to do with her.

Mia likes to pretend otherwise, but she is a complete hothead, and can’t handle people insulting her or her Pokémon. She goes into hissy fits if they do so, and will scream and stamp until she gets what she wants. Because of this, she sometimes scares off potential friends, because they think of her as ‘high maintenance’. She is also highly stubborn, and will agree with herself, even if it’s impossible. She hates being proven wrong.

Lilah loves Poison types, because when she was younger, she dreamed of becoming a ninja, like Koga the leader of the Fuchsia City Gym, and Poison Type Pokémon, in Lilahs opinion, are rather like ninjas; Fast, stealthy and sneaky. This links in with her battle style, because Lilah enjoys weakening her opponents through status effects, before she takes them out.


Battle Style:

When in battles, Mia likes to use status effecting moves to give her own Pokémon a helping hand, even though some think this as ‘dirty’. Her status of choice, would be the Badly Poisoned status inflicted by her Zubats Toxic move. When her opponent is distracted by their weakening Pokémon, Mia gets her own Pokémon to go straight on the offensive to take them out while they’re weak. Because of this, Mia prefers to use Pokémon that have access to status inflicting moves and to strong attacking moves.

If Mia gets infuriated in battle, her moves become predictable, as she focuses primarily on attacking when she’s angry. She would shout orders without even realizing she’s doing so, usually giving away her intentions. While many would assume that she would be a silent strategist, she's still only a novice trainer, and is still learning the ropes of Pokémon Battles.


Past Experience / History:

Mia was born in Fuchsia City, Kanto, as the first child to her parents, Amanda and Daniel Cannon. Her father was a business man, and her mother worked in the PokéMart. However, when Mia turned 5, her family moved to Castelia City in the Unova Region. Mia didn’t like moving, as she had loved the quiet and peaceful life in Fuchsia, and hated the hustle and bustle of Castelia. However, she studied hard at Pokémon Trainer School, and managed to graduate at the top of her class.

As a result, her parents offered Mia whatever Pokémon she wanted to have as her first one. Mia chose a Zubat, because she wanted a challenge. Many trainers complained about how they were pests in caves, but Mia chose it. Her parents were mystified, believing that their little girl would want a cute Pokémon like Eevee, but got her a Zubat and a TM for Toxic, her favourite move, as a joint Graduation-Birthday present.

When she met Oracle, her Zubat, Mia was very jumpy and excitable, which ended up resulting in Oracle biting her in the arm. Mia was rushed to hospital, but was fine in the end as the bite had been shallow. The bite has since scared, and Mia wears it with pride, claiming that she and Oracle got into a fight with a horde of Zubats, and that the Zubats ended up worse than her.

She has a younger sister called Lilah, 14, and she calls home whenever she gets the chance to talk to her. They two have a good relationship, and Lilah looks up to her big sister. Mia promised to catch Lilah her first Pokémon, and it's one of her aims as she traverses the regions. She wants to make Lilah proud to be her little sister.

Oracle enjoys flying around, and likes perching on shady tree branches especially on hot days. She hopes to one day evolve into a Crobat, so she can prove to Mia how strong their friendship is. She likes cuddles, and listening to  songs about broken hearts and true love.
Oracle is very stubborn, and if she decides to do something, nothing can dissuade her. This endeared Mia to her, because she shares the same stubborn streak. This has, however, lead to arguments between the pair on many occasions.

So I get the whole mono-type thing, and I've nothing against it. But I want to ask, why is Poison her type? I get that she wants a challenge, but I mean a challenge would be any, single type of Pokemon, along with the fact that mono-typing your team depends on whether you want pure poision types, or Pokemon who are Poison/???. Anyway, my one, well, issue with the application is simply the whole, why Poison type. Does she like poison types? It does say in her history that TM Toxic is her favourite move, but nothing really indicative that she didn't just pick poison types randomly. So, if you could just clarify and provide a little more detail, whether it being random or simply that it is her favourite type. You don't have to, and if you don't want to just say so.

Cool. It just adds another little layer of depth to explore, in my opinion anyway.
