♡ Gumm & Puke ♡ Chapter 1: Petal To The Metal ♡ [open]

Anya felt sick to her stomach, standing around all day waiting for her package to arrive. She had ordered some new fabrics to make her next 'american flag' and it was scheduled to be delivered twenty-two minutes ago. She looked down at her watch again and puffed out her lips when she saw the time. She wiggled uncomfortably in her old, torn up flag, which was stringy and dirty from her previous battle with a swarm of beedrill. She rolled her eyes and took a look around the small town. It was quiet mosty, although Anya could hear the laughter of small children playing in the nearby park. She picked lightly at her nail polish and decided to take a seat.

Len was walking through the town and planned on heading straight to Petalburg to challenge the gym there. She was walking along side Ita, her Gothita who had been complaining about being hungry. Len slowed down to ask the girl, who she noted looked rather irritated, for directions because she really had no idea where she was going. "Hello," Len smiled, "Do you know how to get to Petalburg from here?"

Anya looked up at the girl before her, examining her blonde hair and generic kawaii girl style. Anya rolled her eyes and looked back down at her watch. She was debating with herself if she should ignore the trainer or try to help her. She honestly didn't even know her way around yet, so she wouldn't be much help. "I'm just as lost as you, babe, but I've gotta wait here for my package to arrive so, ermm, good luck." Anya waved Len off before turning back to fiddling with her thumbs.

Len tapped her foot impatiently as the girl turned her gaze away from her. "How do you not know your way around? You're from here, no?" Len sighed as she looked aroun the cute town one more time. "Ita, help me out!!" She called before throwing her pokeball in the air. Ita appeared in the air and gracefully landed on the ground. She tilted her head up towards Len, her eyes still closed. "Whadaya want?" Ita spoke to Len through their minds (if you don't know already Len can talk to her gothita through auras). Len puffed out her cheek and grinded her foot in to the ground. "Don't get sassy with me. I don't have time for that. Just get us a way out of here, I wanna get to Peatalburg City to face the gym," Len explained yet again to Ita.

Anya didn't quite understand Len's one way conversation with 'Ita' but she tried to ignore it, none the less. Anya did pick up on Len saying she was traveling to Petalburg, however, and after thinking about it with herself she stood up. "Wait," Anya hesitated for a moment, "how about we travel together. We probably won't make it on our own," Anya suggested. She didn't think she cared eiter way, whether the girl's response would be no or yes, but she had to admit it would be much easier traveling to Petalburg as a team. She already disregarded the package; it was already half an hour late and Anya doubted it was getting here any time soon. She bit her lip as she waited for an answer.

Len looked over at Ita who gave a small nod before turning back to the the odd girl now standing up. "Sure, it would be stupid to refuse an offer like that from a fellow pokemon trainer," Len stated cooly. "But what about your package?" Ita nodded before begining to walk along the path that seemed to lead out of the town. "I think the girl already thought that one out, Len. Anyways, it's this way, I can feel the strong auras coming from Petalburg. The souls." Len whispered an 'okay' before following her Gothita close behind.

Anya followed them, still feeling something odd about the duo. She trailed behind slowly, breathing in the town's light aroma and trying to memorize her surroundings. She hugged her flag close to her body, depsite the rough material, to shield her body from the cold breeze that flowed through the grass. She was tired, hungry, and most certainly didn't want to battle the wild pokemon that kneeled in the wildbush near by. She just wanted to get to Petalburg, find a hotel, and get some sleep. Anya didn't mind the quiet, but the silence was a bit awkward so she decided to make conversation. "So, you're new to Hoenn," Anya waited a minute, "So am I."

Len was about to reply when she heard a rustle behind a near by tree. She turned her attention to it, as Ita readied herself in front of the group. "There's a pokemon there," Len mumbled to herself. Ita closed her eyes and smiled. "I'll bring it out." Ita stated before using Psychic to pull out whatever was behind the tree.

It was a very scared looking Silcoon, who was lifted and looked at the two trainers with wide eyes. "Coon..." it said wearily.

Silcoon, Female, Level 8

"A silcoon, how boring," Anya brushed the lone strand of hair from in front of her eyes, "I've always wanted a beautifly but I believe these ones evolve into Dustox anyways. Not even worth my time. Nor is it to knock it out. You can deal with it if you like, but I'm going on ahead." With that, Anya continued on down the path that lead to Petalburg City. She wanted to train a little and maybe catch another pokemon before she challened the gym there, but she didn't want to do it here. Not with Len either. Something didn't sit well with her with Len and Ita and she didn't want to reveal much about herself in front of them.

Len rolled her eyes. 'What's wrong with that girl?' she thought. "Uhm, okay? I'll deal with it since I brought it out. I'll see you in Petalburg?" Len shouted before turning back to the Silcoon. Ita was staring intently at it. "What's the command, then?" Ita chuckled. "Confusion, and if it hits, Psychic to slam it in to the tree." Len told her and waited for the Silcoon's reaction.

The Silcoon was alarmed by Len's Gothita, and used Harden to increase its Defense. However, because it was so terrified, it was frozen to the spot, so both Confusion and Psychic landed a hit on the poor Pokemon.

Anya couldn't help but over hear the battle commands Len was giving Ita. She realized Len had a much different battle style than her and decided to stick around for a few minutes to maybe catch a peak. For all she knew, Len could become a future opponent. She hid behind a nearby tree on the opposite side of the path.

Len smiled when she saw both attacks hit. "Alright, finish it with another Psychic." Len ordered. Ita's smirked as she made her move to finish the job.

The Silcoon was easily overtaken by the Gothita, its fear getting the best of it. Once Psychic landed another hit, the Pokemon fainted.

Gothita earns 8 EXP!

Len turned and noticed Anya was long gone. She couldn't even see her on the path. "Some one is here." Ita suddenly spoke. Len jumped slightly at Ita's words for some reason. "What are you talking about?" Len sneered. "I mean some one is here," Ita spoke more sternly this time. Len nodded but couldn't see anybody. She couldn't even sense an aura. Ita's eyes widened but she looked up at Len calmly. "It's that girl." Ita haden't even bothered to speak her name before she shot a glance at the tree where Anya hid and bursted it to pieces with a Psychic.

Anya let a scream escape her lips as the tree exploded in front of her. She quickly pulled her flag around her body and dropped down to shield herself from the multiple splinters and smoke enveloping her. When she didn't feel the splinters raining down on her anymore she got up and moved quickly through the light smoke and dirt. She dashed out the smoke and spotted Ita and Len standing across the way. "What the hell?" Anya shouted as she pulled a pokeball from the shadows beneath her flag.

"I could ask the same thing," Len frowned, "You said you were leaving." Len watched Anya pull out her pokeball. "What? Are you gonna challenge me?" Len smirked again. Ita chuckled. "You're the one acting suspicious," Ita heard the rustling and calls of the pokemon nearby, "And now wouldn't be the time to battle if that's what you want. The wild pokemon are disturbed and will attack."

Anya gritted her teeth and tossed the pokeball in the air gently, letting her squirtle appear in front of her. "Let them come. We'll take them. But first I'm going to take you down." Anya claimed. Her squirtle realized her tone and knew it was time to battle. He positioned himself on all fours at Anya's feet.

"You're being foolish, and I refuse to fight you when-" Len was interrupted when several wild pokemon bursted from the bushes and trees. She gasped as she looked around at them and realized there weren't too many to take down, but more than enough to do some serious damage to them. She looked over at Anya and opened her mouth to talk, but she was speechless. She didn't really know what she would say anyways. There was no time to talk.
