Tsuki in Viridian! Divine319

The Fury Attack did collide with the incoming Butterfree, as she was too far into her dive to hope of stopping and veering away. The leek collided with her not once, but four times, making quite the impact on the butterfly. She was sent cantering backwards, and barely managed to stay afloat. Still, her wings fluttered as her eyes narrowed in determination to keep in the air. Her trainer hadn't taught her to give up or let weakness show.

"How dare you!" the Bug Catcher sneered, "Butterfree, give him all you've got, Confusion!" The same strange glow from before emanated in the bug's eyes, but this it wasn't directing an attack back at her foe like before, it was attempting to surround Scarlet and make her slam into a nearby tree!

Miles watched as his pokemon continually wailed on the Butterfree, with no mercy it struck it 4 times before the pokemon got away. Miles smirked at the smug bug trainer as he seemed offended.

Miles saw as the bug pokemon fluttered softly, obviously weakened by the attack. It finally got back into place and its trainer told its next command. Miles wasn't even focused on the battle, Miles was focused on the bravery, and pride that these two showed. Now don't get me wrong, he was still gonna wail on this kid, but with more respect.

The Butterfree was now using its only other move beside of string shot. As its eyes glowed a fluorescent blue, Scarlet narrowed her eyes in spite. Miles knew this attack was going to hit, but at least he might be able to knock out his pokemon as well!

"Scarlet, use Gust again!" Miles exclaimed as he had just enough time to throw 3 gusts at the pokemon before being thrown into the nearest tree with a huge impact. Miles grunted as he heard the loud thud.

Rushing over to examine his pokemon, Scarlet was just barely ok. She got up, still determined to fight.

Unlike the determined Scarlet, it seemed that Butterfree had met her match. "Tch," was the only sound that left the Bug Catcher's mouth as he watched the Gust slammed into his Pokemon and cause her to crash into the ground, too exhausted to continue to fight.

Rosto gained 6 exp! Scarlet gained 6 exp!

After several heartbeats of silence, the Bug Catcher grimaced before returning the Butterfree. He turned toward Miles, and with a deep set scowl, thrust $500 toward him. "Take it, my Pokemon was too pathetic to win." Then with that said, he turned, and did something... quite unexpected for a Pokemon Trainer. He held the Pokeball containing Butterfree up above his head, and pressed the center button, allowing the Pokemon out of her ball once more. Though instead of the usual white glow, this one was blue, and the Pokemon seemed crushed.

"F-Free?" she questioned as she watched the trainer toss the now empty Pokeball aside.

"You're free to go, you're useless to me," he growled before making a hasty retreat, not allowing the bug Pokemon to follow. A slight moisture built into the butterfly Pokemon's eyes, and she gently lowered herself to the ground, staring toward where her old trainer had gone. The little Pokemon had lost the battle, and because of that, lost her trainer as well. She was released, and crushed.

Miles gave a wide smile as his Farfetch'd took the hit, and held on for the win. Scratching her head happily Miles returned Scarlet. "Great job Scar." he said with a sense of pride. Looking toward the trainer, Miles first impressions of him began to melt, and quickly. Given the money for the battle, the trainers reason for the loss irked Miles. "I-It wasn't your pokemon's fault. It was YOURS. You're the trainer, get it right." Miles said straight forward to the trainer. Miles glared at him, but the trainer simply ignored Miles and released his pokemon in a heart beat.

"..." Miles was left speechless, his jaw almost hitting the ground.

"W-what the hell man..." Miles choked out as he a almost shed a tear just watching. He couldn't shed a tear, simply because he had a 10 year old with him. The Butterfree let its tears hit the ground, the trainer walking away into the forest.

Miles clenched his fist, almost running after the kid and going to swing his fist but there was more important things than dealing with scum like him. Slowly walking to the emotional pokemon, Miles gave it a calm smile and pulled out a potion from his bag pocket.

"H-hey there guy... wait one second.." Miles said as lightly grasped the wing of the pokemon and sprayed it thoroughly.  " There you go bud...better." Miles said calmly, the pokemon still looking in the direction of his former trainer.

The Potion did help the Pokemon feel in better health, but it didn't do much for her crushed spirits. The moisture in her eyes continued to run down her cheeks, and she stared longingly ahead. She had loved having a trainer, even one as fowl as she had, and he raised her from a timid little Caterpie. She could barely remember her wild years, and not feeling the comfort of a home, a Pokeball, made her... empty inside.

"B-Butterf-free," she murmured, and her gaze turned toward the abandoned Pokeball that no longer works as her home. Her body was shaking, but she did seem to appreciate Miles's efforts. Her old trainer would have never comforted a Pokemon, especially not one he didn't own.

Miles sighed slowly as he gently held on to the bug pokemon, and he couldn't help but also shed a few tears. Wiping them from his face quickly, Miles stood up abruptly, startling the pokemon. Miles stood up, scowling off into the distance where the trainer had ran off. Even his poke balls were vibrating as his Pokemon were filled with emotion.

Plucking the last, empty ball from his belt, Miles knelt down again close to the Butterfree.

"H-hey there, I know this is tough, and you may not understand it right now but I want you on my team."

Miles said bluntly turning to look the pokemon in the eye. Miles clicked the ball, causing it to enlarge.

"What do you say?"

"Ni ni ni tini dra dratini!" [It's ok, Miles is a little thickheaded but he is a good man.] Shirai said as she dropped down and crawled her way over to the Butterfree.

Tsuki's blood boiled but remained quiet for fear of crying but giggled at what Shirai said.

"Shirai, be nice!" Tsuki said before turning to Miles. "Shirai just called you thickheaded."

Miles nodded with a slight smile as the Butterfree tried to make a decision. Miles could understand why this may be a tough decision for the bug pokemon. After being released by the scum trainer, many things must have raced through it's head. Then the trainer how defeated all of a sudden wants to be your new trainer. The inner conflict in this pokemon must have it torn.


Miles simply chuckled as Tsuki tattled on his pokemon. "Even if I am thick headed, I know my morals Tsuki."

Butterfree seemed torn, wavering from side to side with fluttering wings. It was very tempting to simply join Miles. A comfy pokéball, a sense of security. Things she believed she needed and wanted out of life. Still that twinge of indecision existed for her. It could be the thought of Miles eventually rejecting her as her last trainer had, or perhaps it was something else.

Before a decision could be made, cries of several Pokémon was heard in the distance. Pidgey and Searow alike flew, scattering from their abodes ahead. Rattata and some bug types practically stampeded through, running from God knows what! Another cry was heard, catching Butterfree's attention. Her eyes widened as she looked on, recognizing the sound of a Caterpie in distress!

"Fweee, frweee!" She chirped, fluttering about frantically. She turned from side to side, looking to Miles and Tsuki pleadingly. She clearly wanted to help this Pokémon in distress, but was afraid or unsure to rush headlong into the unknown. She needed their help!

Ahead a ways, some smoke began drifting down wind. The smell of burning foliage, and the sounds of crackling wood filled the air. A forest fire? After what had transpired last time the duo got together, this wasn't necessarily a preferred scenario. Still, that meant that ahead there was a bug Pokémon in danger from fire!

"TINI!" [Let's go!] Shirai bolting forward.

"Sissy wait!" Tsuki said. "Miles, Butterfree, lets go..."

Tsuki turned around and started running towards the fire and subsequently after Shirai.

Miles watched as the Butterfree became distressed and torn between it's two choices. Before it could make a decision to what it wanted to do , pokemon from the forest began to evacuate the forest. Pidgey and Spearow flocking above them, and Caterpie and Weedle on the ground, as all these pokemon began to run from imminent danger.

"L-lets go!" Miles exclaimed as the mood intensified. Shirai chased after Butterfree, and Tsuki after Shirai, Miles followed close behind to stay in pursuit. As they ran in the direction of the commotion, Miles couldn't help but think of all the helpless Kakuna and Metapod that were being forced to go through the ordeal.

The smell of ash, and dark smoke filled the air, an all to familiar feeling for Tsuki and Miles.

Butterfree fluttered off frantically, leading the way to the source of the crying, as well as the source of the flames. Trapped by raging flames, a small Caterpie trembled in fear. A sinister, yet eerily childish giggle emanated sending a chill up the spines of those nearby. Butterfree panicked, going to rush in to rescue the baby, but quickly forced back by the flames.

Flinching and crying as flames lapped out at her, she looked to the trainers for help. "Fweee!" She chirruped again, desperately. The giggle resonated once more, several bluish-purple flames scattering about the field. Across the way there was a tree engulfed in flames, and the apparent source of the fire.

A small white body and glowing yellow eyes, its eerie blue flame belonged to none other than a Litwick! It seemed she had been trying to lure souls to the other side when all hell broke loose. The trickster of a ghost type was now set free in this world, and her fire was as ravenous as her hunger for souls! She seemed powerful, level 22 give or take. It was likely Tsuki and Miles would have to work together to take her down!

Tsuki stopped in the clearing and saw a weird candle and immediately reached for his Pokedex.

"Litwick, the Candle Pokémon. Litwick appear to be helping to guide the way of people by illuminating areas that are darkened, but in reality they are actually leading them to the Ghost World. They feed off the life energy of people and Pokémon, and use it as fuel for the flames on their heads." Dexter said.

Tsuki looked at the picture of Litwik in the pokedex and then at the real one. He noticed the flame was a different color. It was a shiny pokemon.

"LITWIK, CUT IT OUT! You'll burn the forest down!" Tsuki shouted which surprised him as much as it did Shirai.

Litwick merely smirked as Tsuki cried out abruptly. The creepy childish laugh came again, the ghost Pokémon clearly not caring what happened to the forest or its Pokémon. Rather, more blue flames appeared, her Will-o-Wisp flying out and catching more of the arena on fire. Tsuki and Miles would need to act fast, before the fire spread too far!

Butterfree swayed uneasily, unable to reach the Caterpie. It was completely surrounded by flames! The fire crackled angrily, lapping at the baby which trembled in fear as it slowly encroached. Litick on the other hand floated over before Tsuki and Miles, grinning menacingly as its blue flame grew brighter.

A spark ignited around it, flames suddenly bursting into existence as Litwick rocked around. The flames were shot toward Tsuki and Shirai, the flames spinning around and attempting to entrap the Pokémon and potentially trainer along with it! Litwick used Fire Spin!

Tsuki and Shirai jumped out of the way as the Fire Spin ignited the trees behind them.

"Dra-Dragon Wings, please guide us in this battle! Sissy Thunder Wave!" Tsuki said surprised his voice was still working.

Shirai's jewel started glowing and an electric wave shot out towards the Litwik hoping the paralytic move would hit its mark.

Caterpie was startled as a dark silhouette penetrated the encroaching flames, trembling as he was sure this would be his last moments. He flinched, closing his eyes to prepare for his end. However, when he felt something instead scoop him up, he again opened his eyes, looking up to see Miles's face, now covered in soot and ash. The bug Pokémon clutched to his sleeve tightly, Pokémon and trainer quickly realizing their dilemma. The flames had them trapped now, Miles's movement having sped up the fire!

Caterpie trembled, Butterfree panicking on the outer ring of fire. She chirruped fruitlessly, feeling helpless to the whole ordeal. Meanwhile, Tsuki and his partner Shirai managed to narrowly dodge the fire spin attack, preparing a counter of their own! Litwick giggled again, watching as Miles trapped himself by her fires. However, this allowed Shirai's thunderwave to strike the ghost with few problems!

With a groan and a cry, Litwick flinched, wincing as she turned back to Shirai. She glared menacingly, clearly angered by the Dragon's insolence. With a flick of her wick, the shiny sent blue flames toward Shirai. They seemed to be almost ethereal, floating around on their own accord and chasing Shirai to try burning her! The candle was clearly not giving up due to partial paralysis! Litwick used Will-O-Wisp!

This distraction was exactly what Miles required, as his Pidgey flew up and away from the flames. With a powerful flurry, he beat his wings toward the ground, managing to kick up a dust cloud which quickly settled over the arena. Most of the flames had been successfully snuffed out, small embers and Litwick's Will-o-Wisp being the only fires left visible. Miles was cleared to leave the scorched area with Caterpie safely, no longer trapped in a fiery ring of death.

Tsuki saw the attack.

"Sissy dodge and counter with Twister." Tsuki said.

Shirai lept out of the way but the Will-o-Whisp was too fast and hit the tip of Shirai's tail. Shirai cried out in pain as the move hit and effectively burned her.

"Shirai are you alright?" Tsuki asked with a worried expression.

Shirai nodded and unleash the windy Dragon move towards the Litwik before wincing as the burn on her tail started crawling up her body with each movement she made.

As Butterfree fled the scene with Miles and the baby Caterpie, they couldn't help but feel somewhat guilty. Still, Butterfree couldn't do much against a fire type! It would burn her up in seconds flat! She cringed a bit, turning again to follow Miles and the trembling Caterpie.

Meanwhile, Litwick was in the heat of battle. She laughed unnervingly as Shirai was burned by her ghostly fires. Still, Shirai had full mobility and whipped up a twister headed right for the candle! Unable to move, she braced herself for the impact. It wasn't a very strong attack, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt at least somewhat.

Still, she was experiencing full paralysis! She couldn't counter attack! Grimacing, Litwick merely sat there, unable to do anything else at the moment. She hoped she would gain mobility again soon, as she genuinely disliked this not moving business. She was a sitting duck, and that didn't settle well in her book.

"Can you go on Shirai?" Tsuki asked seeing Litwik unable to move.

"Dra!" [Yes!] Shirai responded.

"Then use Draco Meteor!" Tsuki commanded though his voice cracked slightly due to the strain on it.

Once again the opal on Shirai's forehead glowed before meteors came crashing down from the heavens.

A sphere of bright orange energy appeared before Shirai, who fired it into the air. There it exploded, releasing several meteor like spheres of energy which rained down on Litwick. Paralyzed, she could do nothing but take the attack. It was extremely strong for Shirai's level, Litwick taking a good chunk of damage! However, it was well known that moves like Draco Meteor severely lowered the Special Attack of the Pokémon who used it.

Fighting through the paralysis, Litwick mustered up the energy for a move. Her eyes began to glow red, an ominous deep red aura surrounding her body. From her eyes, she fired a black beam streaked with crimson at Shirai! It was Night Shade!

"Shirai, dodge the attack!" Tsuki cried out.

Shirai barely managed to dodge the attack but winced in pain as her burn flared up. Tsuki knew Shirai wouldn;'t last too much longer.

"Sissy, Return!" Tsuki said.

Shirai quickly retreated and slipped back in her normal position on Tsuki's body. Shirai's body felt hot against her brothers.

"Shinx! I choose you! Ice Fang!" Tsuki said in a hoarse voice.

Shinx appeared in a flash of light before charging towards the Litwik with a icy mouth.

Ice fang struck Litwick, though the Pokemon didn't even seem to flinch. If it weren't bad enough that Litwick was a much higher level, ice type moves weren't very effective against her! Litwick merely laughed deviously, as though the prick had tickled if anything. Opening her mouth, Litwick began to spew out a thick green substance at the poor Shinx! It was her Acid Attack!
