Name: Peregrine Farrough
Nickname: Perry
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Female
Rank: Trainer
Birthplace: Hoenn, Lilycove City

Battle Style: Despite her age, Perry is fairly new to Pokémon battling. Honestly, she’s not very good at it. She mostly goes with the flow and hopes for the best.

Looks: Perry is five feet and two inches tall, so she’s rather small for her age. She has to look up to talk to most other people, much to her annoyance. Body-wise, Perry has a lean, slightly athletic build due to days spent exploring every crack and crevice of her hometown’s surrounding beaches. For the same reason, Perry’s skin is tanned a healthy golden light-brown color. Her hair could better be described as ‘wild’ or ‘untamable’, falling down to her shoulders in a riot of honey waves and rebellious strands that tend to stick out in random directions. Sometimes Perry simply puts her hair in a low ponytail, but it doesn’t usually last long that way. Perry’s eyes are a deep amber color, and would match the color of her hair exactly if not for the several green flecks in them. For some reason, they tend to get slightly greener near the ocean.

Perry’s hands are calloused due to her several adventures climbing the cliffs near her house; several scars, now pale lines, run the length of her legs and arms, but most aren’t even visible. There is a large scar on her back, an ugly and jagged thing from when she fell once.

As far as clothing goes, Perry tends to go with comfortable and practical clothes, especially when she’s out exploring. She tends to wear darker colors, but that isn’t always the case. Shorts, pants and t-shirts are what people will usually see her wearing. She hates heavy, wintery clothes.

Personality: Since she remembers existing, Perry has always been a very adventurous soul. She likes to find out things, her curiosity always reaching out and landing her in a pile of trouble. Because of that, Perry is a very resourceful person and has the ability to stay calm in emergencies, which did save her life once. That said, Perry’s drive to discover the unknown burns fiercely within her, a trait that made her poor parents despair more than a few times while she was growing up.

Polite and helpful, she doesn’t mind helping other people out, but has a hot temper that lashes out when she thinks people are mocking her. Her pride is her Achilles’ heel: while she tends to ignore jabs sent her way, she might simply turn around the punch the living daylights out of whoever was getting on her nerves – which isn’t very intimidating seeing as she’s barely five foot two.

Due to her grandpa being a fisherman, Perry has spent a great deal of time out in the sea. She used to accompany him when she was little and later on she started helping him. She loves the feeling of the waves rolling beneath her feet, the isolation that one can only feel when surrounded by a wide expanse of water, far away from everything else. It’s like her sanctuary.
Perry has the annoying habit of waking up before dawn and being out of the house as the sun rises. Dawn is her favorite time of the day and she likes to be out and about when it reaches her little corner of the Earth. More often than not, people will find her sipping from a chipped cup containing coffee. She’s somewhat of an addict and likes her coffee straight and simple, no cream or sugar. She’s also a voracious reader and has an impressive collection of fiction books.

History: Lilycove has always been her home. Born and raised there, Peregrine has lived a somewhat carefree life. She spent her childhood running around, darting between people’s legs, a wild imp ready to make some mischief. Whenever she put herself in any kind of danger, one of her mother’s Pokémon would jump to the rescue, taking her back to her parents to get a good scolding. Her mother had been a Pokémon Trainer in her youth, but had put that aside to work in the Pokémon Safari near Lilycove when she settled down. Her father was a cook at a nearby local restaurant and made the best seafood Lilycove had to offer. Then there was Skylar, her older brother and fiercest rival. Peregrine and Skylar didn’t get along at all – it wasn’t rare to find them arguing about one thing or the other, even pulling each other’s hair out if words weren’t enough. When they were given their first Pokémon at the tender age of ten, the first thing they did was battle each other, resulting in a draw.

As Peregrine grew, she started spending less time at home and more exploring the wilderness around Lilycove with her faithful companion Keeran, the Psyduck. She started climbing the smaller cliffs with access to hidden beaches, mapping out Lilycove’s secrets little by little. It was on one of these expeditions that tragedy struck – or would have, if Perry hadn’t kept her wits about her. She’d been climbing one of the rocky cliffs that was familiar to her, having climbed it countless times. She knew the way almost as well as she knew the palm of her hand, but she hadn’t counted on part of the cliff just falling down while she was climbing it. The sound of something breaking was her first warning, then she suddenly had no foothold and her hands were slipping. As if in slow motion, she felt her body fall back and then down. The cliff itself wasn’t very high, but the jagged edges of the rocks littering the cliff’s base were deadly. Perry had a split second to try to slow her fall as she attempted to grip the cliff face. Her fall wasn’t slowed down, but she’d managed to position herself so that she wouldn’t impale herself on one of the rocks.

The sound of a distressed Pokémon (Keeran) had warned a nearby tourist, who immediately took her to the hospital. While she’d succeeded in evading death, she’d still been gravely injured. There was a jagged, ugly scar on her back from having fallen onto one of the rocks. Thankfully, the cut hadn’t been deep enough to have pierced any of her internal organs. Despite this traumatic incident, it wasn’t the last time Peregrine climbed one of those rocky cliffs - but she never went alone again.

Not long after that, she took up on her grandfather’s offer to “show her the ropes” when he went sailing. He taught her how to maneuver the small fishing boat and it wasn’t long before she was driving the boat while her grandpa enjoyed the sunlight.
