Looks: Gwendoline is a young woman with golden hair that comes to her waist. She often wears two clips in her hair on the left side keeping her bangs back. Her eyes are a soft violet color, and although the color is dull they are full of life. She has fair colored skin that is unmarred and clear of blemishes. She stands at 5'1 (155 cm) and weighs (43 kg) 94 lbs. She doesn't weigh quite much and she is a rather small girl. though she has a larger bust than most girls her age. However she is healthy, and has long piano-like fingers that she often plays with when she is nervous. Her clothes consist of soft colors though the most frequent ones are blue and white.

Personality: Gwendoline is a tender and loving soul that tries to reach out to everyone that is near her. Although this makes her quite naive when it comes to those trying to trick her, her happiness is always there. She is an optimistic person looking on the bright side even in a bleak situation as to keep her spirits high. When it comes to Pokemon, she is motherly and sweet knowing that many of them may be hurt or don't know humans well. Even her own Pokemon commend her for the love and care that she showed them even as a child. Though they are often exasperated because Gwendoline is quick to trust anyone, and when her heart is broken - she masks her emotions so that no one will worry. However, people who know her say that she can be quite the lecturer when she is upset.

When Gwendoline becomes enraged, she takes on a very blunt and harsh tone saying what is true and not leaving a single detail out. She tries to stay on the same level with everyone and remain humble. However she can be stubborn when it comes to sticking with her ideals, not willing to back down for anyone or anything. Gwendoline is far from being a shy girl having an outspoken and animated way of expressing herself. Even though, she is empathetic and can reach out to her better understanding when it comes to understanding others. Always ready to hold out her hand to others no matter the situation, she is a thoughtful person aspiring to be there for everyone and anyone.

On the other hand when she is betrayed or her hopes are dashed by someone, Gwendoline can be quite self-loathing. She blames herself for what had happened, and wonders what if she changed this or what if she had done that. Her self-loathing originated from childhood mistakes and developed into a problem that she now faces in her adolescent years. Nonetheless, she tries to push through it with a smile and a sunny disposition. Her loyalty comes rather easy but when it is lost, it is hard to get back. Though with that, when someone who has her loyalty is in trouble she doesn't hesitate to spring into action. However this can get her in trouble and she makes sure to apologize later though her reasoning is because she wanted everything to be okay.

Gwendoline can be childish and rather loud if she gets too excited, but in the end she means well.


History:


Gwen's mother was not supposed to be able to bear children, so Gwen was a 'miracle child'. His father works at a pokemon lab in the Hoenn region. He is a researcher and technician who strives to make better products for pokemon. These range from pokeballs, nutritional items and potions to accessories to help the pokemon fight better. His mother is a breeder who used to be a trainer growing up. They are quite well off as his great grandparents had a hefty sum of money. So it is easy to imagine how Gwen might have been coddled and spoiled by the Shiina’s. From day one they made sure she had everything a girl could desire.

Still, they did try to instill good morals and behavior into their daughter. Lily believed it was important for Gwen to have good manners, and independence. Her husband, Darren, agreed on how they ought to raise the girl. Responsibility was among those things. She helped care for her mother's pokemon, learning about breeding and training in the process. They believed she was never too young to learn, and so they taught her everything as early as she would learn it. She was a hyper, active child who preferred to be outdoors or with the pokemon. Her attention span was not always the best. Gwen made friends easily, and was very outgoing and friendly. Her mother loved her more than anything, and she knew it. Her father might have worked a lot of hours, yet they always made time for her. They enrolled her in music lessons from a young age. Vocals were her primary strength, yet she was very good at guitar and piano too. Lily thought her daugther would be a coordinator. She loved to entertain, and be the center of attention. Yet as soon as she started learning about pokemon and battling, hse wanted to be a trainer the day she turned ten and was allowed.

Since her mother was a breeder, she promised that she would have a pokemon of her own to go on her journey with when he was ready. In the meantime, she was busy learning all he could about the life of a trainer, and idolizing her favorites like Cynthia and Elesa, whom she wants to be like one day. The day of her fifteenth birthday, her mother gave her an egg. It was nearly ready to hatch, and when it did, she had a cyndaquil.
