Chapter 1: A Champion Rises

Riolu cast a single glance back at the trainer pursuing him before leaping over a bush, shinnying up a tree and disappearing. It was nowhere to be seen. Though, there did appear to be a Timburr up in the trees, block of wood resting next to it.


Level 12

(Don't worry, I'll bring in the Riolu soon afterwards.)

Kam cursed under his breath as he watched the Riolu escape, almost positive he wouldn't see it again. He sighed and looked back at the tree, breathing heavily. He spotted another pokemon that might be some help, "Do you know where the other pokemon went buddy?" He looked at the grey pokemon with a welcoming smile as sweat ran down his face.

The Timburr looked down, uninterested. It looked for a moment as though it wasn't going to answer, before slowly and casually raising an appendage towards the direction the Riolu had dashed off. But due to the time it took to comprehend the question, figure out which way the swift dog-like pokemon went and the delay in answering, the Riolu was probably miles away considering the speed at which it ran.

Kam nodded, "Got it!" He charged off in the direction of the blue and black pokemon that he met just moments ago. There was still time, It could of stopped by now. After following the directions of Timburr, Kam picked back up on the trail of the Riolu.

While the Aura pokemon was nowhere in sight, several paw-prints could be found in the mud surrounding the area. A Zorua could be spotted napping in the occasional ray of sunshine which managed to find it's way through the increasingly thick foliage overhead.


Level 9

(Why do you get such amazing pokemon? ;~;)

Kam walked up to the little pokemon and poked its belly, trying to wake it up. He would smile at the pokemon and would speak to it with a soft voice as he sat down next to it, "Hey little guy! What's going on?" If he was going to catch it, it wasn't going to be through battle because Oasis was weakened.

The Zorua grumbled and woke up sleepily, blinking it's eyes. It looked up at the trainer, and was seemingly relaxed. It jumped to it's feet, impressively jumping back a few yards. It rubbed it's soft belly where the trainer had poked him, but didn't really seem displeased. It caught sight of the pokeballs at his waist and the epiphany dawned upon him that this was a trainer, though it showed no reaction or sign that it had noticed the spheres at his side.

Kam laughed once the pokemon jumped backwards, "Well aren't you cute?" He looked up and grabbed one of the berries that were hanging over the tree and handed it to the pokemon, "Here buddy." He would wait for it to take the food before he would slowly pet it's head.

The Zorua's face quickly changed into a ':3' expression as it scrambled over to the Berry. If it could speak, it would most certainly be saying "Gimmegimmegimme!" or something. Quite the glutton. The Berry was down without even adequate chewing. Zorua looked hungrily and expectantly towards Kam for more.

Kam laughed and grabbed a handful of berries, "How about this buddy? Me and you become friends and you come on a journey with me, and you get all the berries you want. Sound like a deal?" He would smile, holding the berries out of reach from the pokemon for now.

Zorua happily yipped as it commenced eating the berries. After it was done, it scrambled over to the tree, and with astonishing agility, scrambled up and reached the top branches with berries. Looked like food motivated this little Illusion Fox. It started gobbling all the food around.

After eating enough to feed a small village, it came back down, with nothing to show for it. No over-stuffed belly, no slow movements. It seemed perfectly normal. Strangely queer, but adorable. It looked back up at Kam, hopeful that he had some more food before rubbing against his leg.

Kam sighed and placed the handful of berries on the ground for the pokemon to eat. It sure did love food, it looked like t would do anything for food. He smiled at the little pokemon, "Alright Bud, you're coming with me." Kam would wait for the pokemon to start eating before he pulled out a pokeball and would lightly konk it on the head, trying to catch the cute, forever hungry pokemon. Honestly Kam loved the little guy, but didn't want to spend too much time here.

The Zorua was pulled in, and didn't shake in the slightest as it clicked promisingly.

Kam smiled, "I'm going to name you Munch because you eat so much." He spoke to the pokeball and then put it away, he would then look up, he sure did waste a lot of time with Munch, so he just got back on the road to the city he was going to.

Upon crashing through the undergrowth, one would come to a large empty plain, divided into two sections by a dirt road. Right in the middle stood the Riolu, looking around, pivoting only it's head, as though curious and wary at the same time. It didn't seem to have noticed Kam.

Kam watched what was going on, he was excited to see the Riolu again. He pulled out his pokedex and took its information. He then would watch to see what the pokemon was going to do, if the pokemon was in trouble Kam was going to do his best to help the little guy out.

The PokeDex beeped and output some information on the screen. Riolu was not emanating any emotion waves, therefore justifying the fact he hadn't seen Kam yet. But as soon as it closed it's eyes, it sensed the aura of Kam. It stood still for a second, before deciding he was no threat. If he was, he could easily outrun the human.
