Birthplace: Ambrose was born and raised in the city of Celadon in the region of Kanto.

Battle Style: Ambrose fights with respect, kindness, and mercy. If the foe Pokémon were down on the ground, Ambrose would not take advantage of it and instead wait until the Pokémon could get back on its feet and could properly defend itself against his Pokémon’s attacks. Should Ambrose encounter a wild Pokémon that he would like to be on his team, he would offer kindness to the Pokémon and give the Pokémon free will in joining his team, instead of harming, weakening, and helplessly capturing an innocent wild Pokémon.

Looks: Ambrose stands 70 inches, weighs 150 lbs., and has a well-built body. He has a triangular face, fair skin tone, hazel eyes, and a pointed nose. Ambrose's silver hair is long with his bangs parted to either side of his face.

Ambrose wears a light pink polo shirt. The armholes of his shirt are at a reasonable size, and the length of the shirt is halfway down the fly of his jeans. Ambrose wears dark slim fit jeans that fit low on waist, and white Nike shoes.

Personality: Ambrose is a contemporary gentleman, who has always been obsessed with perfection. He seeks to have a "perfect" win record in every battle and not have a single defeat to assert his dominance over an undefeated Trainer by the name of Red.

He possesses a positive outlook on life. Ambrose's humor and consistent encouragement may attract others to him. His posture and body language communicate a strong personal presence. Ambrose grooms himself well and practices good hygiene.

However, this "perfection" is Ambrose's greatest weakness. When a friend defeated him in a game of Chess and brought one record of defeat that tarnished Ambrose's undefeated streak, Ambrose was unable to accept it. He lost his mind and turned into someone completely different; he reacted violently and nearly killed his own friend.

Unlike the good talker and listener one would expect from a gentleman like him, Ambrose can be a bore and sometimes cannot keep a conversation going, often he would resort to asking boring questions that the other person can answer by a simple "yes or no".

History: Ambrose is acutely aware that he is not being a typecast in the same way that the majority of his family has been. While his father was an expert Coordinator, his cousins took Coordinator classes, and everyone else in the family was all Coordinators, Ambrose has no characterizations that point to his ethnicity. He chose to be a Pokémon Trainer — never tried to focus on a tradition or an ethnicity or anything like that; just became himself.

His starter Pokémon, a Starly, was a gift from his father, who originally wanted Ambrose to use the Starly in contests. Upon receiving the Starly, Ambrose told his father, Edward, that he wants to become a Pokémon Trainer, and not the traditional Coordinator. The Rutherford family had a weeklong debate on the issue, everything turned pleasant, and the family allowed Ambrose to pursue his own dream, with respect to him being such a kind, loving son to his parents and a respectful grandson to the elders.

Ambrose named his Starly, Pride, because of his holier-than-thou personality.
