Battle Style: Haru's battle style relies on a somewhat parry basis, where he simply has his pokemon counter the moves of his opponents.  This allows him to pick out the openings in the opponent's attacks and deliver a serious blow. Along with this strategy, Haru likes to utilize an assortment of pokemon types but mainly sticks to the pokemon he finds to be cool.

Caring- He is a weird individual to some, because he will express care for them despite the fact that he doesn't even know them. This capacity for wanting to look out for those around him has allowed him to amass a group of friends wherever he goes. Even the most inconsiderate of people will receive kindness from this guy, but in a different sense as Haru will begin to think of them as rivals.

Easygoing- Haru is very laid-back, or in other words lazy when he is on his own. He takes his time with almost everything; walking, training, eating, and battling. Just going with the overall flow of things only changing this when something catches his interest.

Calm- Everywhere he goes he has this unwavering calmness about him, and it shows when battling, training, or in some stressful situation his mindset and expression won't change. Thus he can easily think of a quick way out of the predicament, and counter in some form.

Straightforwardness- One of his most prevalent traits, Haru is always looking ahead into the true point of whats going on. This trait has offended others because he will see through them into all their flaws/quirks causing them to consider him overly critical - even hurtfully so when he brings them up. So don't ask him if you don't want to know the unvarnished truth. There's no sugar-coating whatsoever with him, even if the truth is not pretty. However, by the same token, when Haru gives someone a compliment, it's not as a condescending gesture, but rather a straight-out, honest assessment that you can indeed be proud of.

History:
Haru was born and raised by his grandparents in Snowpoint city, due to his parents being researchers and having to constantly travel to collect more knowledge on pokemon. He never held any bad grudges towards them because he knew they loved him and that they enjoyed their job a lot.  Staying with his grandparents was interesting, as he got older he began to help out with their respective jobs. Haru's grandmother was one of the many caretakers of a nearby shrine to what supposedly housed a legendary pokemon. He would often find ber there and help in anyway he could, whether it be sweeping the steps or watching out for any intruders. On the other hand, his grandfather ran a local store that sold goods like pokeballs, potions, etc. His gramps had hired help but Haru still wanted to contribute as it was felt nice to be of help.

By the time he was sixteen, Haru had wanted to go out and adventure like his parents which his grandparents enthusiastically approved of. However, before they would let him be on his way, they gave him a pokeball. Inside was a sneasel that his parents had caught and sent to him as a present on his last birthday. The reason he had just gotten the pokemon now was, because they were waiting for him to leave and start a journey as a trainer. Thankful for his new partner as well as for having such a loving family, Haru left Snowpoint and started his journey.

Rias is a protector in spirit, she is very protective of those she cares for and as a result can come off a bit aggressive when doing so. Also, she is rather bossy and would prefer to have things done her way, as well as get what she wants when she wants it.

He has an insatiable curiosity which can land him in trouble. In addition he can be easily set off by a wrong glance. Generally friendly though, he can be quick to bond...besides with Rias.
