Starting in the best way possible; with new friends (Ask me to join)

Joel got off of his bike, it had taken him a week to cycle to the big city going through Aquacorde Town and Santalune City but, finally he was there. Joel then walked his bike through the city streets in search of the Sycamore Pokemon Lab after all it would have been easy to find if he'd asked someone but he doesn't necessarily like to bother people.

It took him 20 mins of walking with his bike through the city but finally he found it, a large building with a big arch, saying `Sycamore Pokemon Lab` on it, walking through the arched gate and past trees growing outside the lab; home to some Fletchling and Pidgey's; smiling he walked up to the door and entered the lab as, the door was open. Once inside he called out
"Hello.. Professor Sycamore are you here? It's Joel, Joel Dyer here to get my starter pokemon, my Dad called last week to let you know i'm coming"
he started to look around him seeing bookcases and lab equipment down some corridors continuing to take everything in he awaited the arrival of the Professor and wondered if he would be the only one getting his starter today or if there were others who he may be able to befriend and travel with.

The Professor heard the young boy's voice in the front of the big lab as he was working in one of the rooms in the back. He was expecting the boy to arrive sometime today, as the boy said his father did call him a week before. He walked towards the young trainer, with the three pokeballs in his pouch which hung by his side. "Ah, yes. I've been expecting you, Joel. Here you go, you can choose one of these three. But choose wisely, this will be your pokemon partner for the rest of your life. A bond will be made between you two as you go on your journey, and I expect you to be great friends in the future." The professor said. E then removed the three pokeballs, pressing the buttons on the pokeballs which caused them to grow in size. He threw them into the air, and three white lights emerged from the three pokeballs, which took the shape of Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie. Each of the pokemon showed their personalities, Chespin was quite energetic, Froakie was confident but it was clear there was another side to this pokemon, a darker side. Fennekin was a bit shy, but you could see he has a caring heart.

Joel smiled as the Professor approached and listened intently to what the Professor had to say, once finished he replied with
"I understand Professor, That's why i've been thinking about this for a long time and I think I know who I want to take with me on my journey.."
He looked at the pokemon individually before continuing with
"I'm gonna take Fennekin as, my partner"
picking up the Fennekin that was on the floor, being respectful of it shy nature he said
"I think we can be great partners and I think I can help you to be more confident ok then buddy?"
Fennekin being a bit cautious, Joel then let Fennekin climb onto his shoulder and once on he looked around, there was something about this trainer that he liked but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Joel then looked at the Professor and said
"Thanks Professor, I think me and Fennekin will be good friends, Now my dad also said you'd programmed a Pokedex for me"
Fennekin watching intently from his shoulder. Joel said programmed because, they had to be after all they doubled up as a trainers personal identification should they need it for any reason.

It seemed to the professor that they'd get along great, it was definitely a wise choice the boy made. "Good choice, Joel. And yes, here's your pokedex. Its top of the line here in Kalos, containing the data of every pokemon known in Kalos." He the handed over the shiny pokedex. "Now, be safe on your journey, and I hope you get to take part in the Kalos league one day." The professor said with a smile.

Joel nodded
"Thank you"
he remarked as he accepted the pokedex from Professor Sycamore then placing it into his left pocket. He then said
"I will be sure to stay safe Professor and I shall go register for Kalos League at the Pokemon Center now"
he looked to Fennekin and said
"You ready to get our adventure started buddy?"
Fennekin's eyes widened before he burst into a grin and happily called out
"Fennekin.. Fenn!"
Joel laughing as, he said to the Professor
"Right then Professor bye and thanks for Fennekin and the pokedex"
turning and walking out of the open doors shutting them behind him. He then looked around everything seemed like it smelled different when you had a pokemon with you; it's as if everything was new to you. Joel then folded up his handy bike and placed it into his bag being glad that the bike was easily carry-able and lightweight.

Walking down the road he eventually reached one of the two pokemon center's entering the large modern building he walked straight up to the desk and said
"Hey there Nurse Joy, I'd like to register for the Kalos League please"
he then took out his Pokedex ready to register and waited for Nurse Joy to set it all up.

Nurse Joy smiled at the young boy who wanted to enter the Kalos League. "Sure, I'll register you right now." She said as she took the Pokedex and started scanning it. His data was uploaded to the system, so she then handed back the Pokedex. "All done. Good Luck on your journey to becoming champion, Joel." He didn't have to give her his name since it showed in his data contained in the Pokedex.

Joel looked at Fennekin and said
"There we go buddy we're all set for the Kalos League now shall we go take a look around for some new friends?"
as he took back his pokedex; Fennekin seemed happy enough with that plan barking
"Fenn.. Fennekin.. Fenn!"
He then said to Nurse Joy
"Thank you have a nice day"
before, turning and leaving the pokemon center he then began to head back down route 4 towards Santalune City so, that they could find themselves some new friends on the way to the Santalune City gym. After a while they got out of the city and onto the route and Joel started looking around for any potential friends deciding that a Flying type pokemon would be good and handy he started looking to the trees eventually seeing a ______ sitting in one of them. With that Joel took his Pokedex out of his left pocket and scanned the pokemon to find out what exactly it was.

A level 14 Staravia appeared!

Staravia was startled by the trainer and flew out of the tree, landing on the nearby ground. Worried about the fire type it saw, it used Growl to decrease the opponent's attack stat

Joel was quick to react as, he saw the bird was up for a battle he called to Fennekin who jumped off his shoulder with speed
"Now Fennekin quickly use Hypnosis"
Fennekin tilted his head forwards and golden rings started coming from it's eyes as, it tried to put the Staravia to sleep. Joel then followed it up with
"After this follow it up with an Ember attack"
Fennekin waiting for to see the effect of the Hypnosis attack before letting loose a large amount of flames from his mouth as an Ember attack hoping to do some damage to the Staravia whilst it was sleeping; if it was sleeping.

Staravia dodged the hypnosis by using quick attack to fly up high into the sky and out of the way of the yellow rings. An ember was then shot at her, which connected with the flying type. Staravia fell from the skies, but quickly regained its balance and used Steel Wing, its wings then turned white and hard as steel as it flew straight at Fennekin. Staravia was a fighter for sure, even with the damage she took she was determined to win

Joel then watched as the Staravia was hit and regained it's balance, this Staravia had fight in it and that spurred him on to want her even more. Joel then, called to Fennekin
"Fire an Ember attack at it before dodging then follow it up with another Hypnosis"
Fennekin calling back
"Fennekin!"
He then went on to use Ember on Staravia as it was incoming before rolling aside to dodge the attack leaving Staravia to potentially be on a collision course with the Ember attack. Fennekin then followed it up with yet another Hypnosis attack sending the multiple rings of Hypnotizing energy with the hopes that it would be struck by the attack, fallen and hopefully easier to hit with the Hypnosis thereby, making it easier to capture when doubled up with the damage caused.

Staravia had too little time to dodge the Ember and flew straight into it, which left her landing on the ground. As the dust cleared, Fennekin used Hypnosis once again, which was a success as well as Staravia fell asleep. Would Joel choose to capture the pokemon, or keep looking for another flying type?

Joel smiled as he un-clipped an empty pokeball that his father had bought him, from his belt and calling out
"Let's go Pokeball!"
launching the pokeball at the fallen Staravia as, Fennekin watched moving to Joel's side. After the pokeball was thrown; Joel crossed his fingers hoping that he had just secured himself and Fennekin a brand new friend and Fennekin was equally as hopeful and optimistic.

The Pokeball hit Staravia on the left wing as Joel threw it. A red light sucked her up inside, and with a few twirls of the Pokeball, the red beeping light stopped, securing the Staravia as Joel's new pokemon!

Joel smiled picking up the pokeball and showing it to Fennekin who was by his side saying
"Hey Fennekin look we've got ourselves a new friend"
Fennekin barking happily
"Fenne.. Fennekin.. Fenne!"
Joel laughed then clipping the pokeball onto his belt and putting out his arm for Fennekin to climb back up onto his shoulder, which he did and after he did Joel began to walk again down the path to Santalune City and the Santalune Gym.

Joel then spotted a _______ on the pathway and said to Fennekin
"Get ready this looks interesting"
then taking his pokedex from his left pocket once again and scanning in this next pokemon.

Things were getting interesting indeed, a level 28 Wartortle showed up. And it did not look friendly at all.
Wartortle used Water Pulse against the poor Fennekin, blasting a big wave of water at it.

(lol you're racking up the damns)

Joel was quick to react launching Staravia's pokeball from his belt as, Staravia burst out and grabbed Fennekin out of the way of the attack, now he wasn't one for ganging up on pokemon but, if he didn't then he wasn't gonna win so, Joel called to his team
"Quickly we have to finished this before, we get hit by an attack otherwise it could be critical, Staravia keep holding onto Fennekin but, spin and Fennekin use Ember, Staravia whilst spinning use Wing Attack"
Fennekin prepared himself and Staravia nodded immediately beginning to rotate quickly like a drill and building power in her wings as she used Wing Attack with it. Fennekin meanwhile began firing off Ember attacks like the duo was a fighter jet aiming both of their attacks at Wartortle to strike with maximum power.

(You can just add whatever pokemon and exp you gain with me modding you to your profile, as I can't edit yet. Though I'm gonna send Wolfie a PM soon about my privileges being given to me as I think I've proven myself by now~)

An interesting counter from the young Joel indeed, using a combination attack with both his pokemon, a flying type and fire type technique. The Wartortle wasn't impressed however, a fire type combined with a flying type against a water type? Wartortle opened his mouth, and out came a blast of water as he used Water Gun to blast them out of the sky and douse that Ember.

Staravia continued the spin managing to use it to avoid any fatal contact with the water gun continuing on course for the Wing Attack, Joel however called to Fennekin
"Change it up a bit and use Hypnosis Fennekin"
Fennekin beginning to emit the hypnotic waves from his eyes in an attempt to put Wartortle asleep and thereby make it easier for them to beat him.

(He avoided it in the same way Dawn and Ash did during their time in Sinnoh, spinning to avoid contact with the move and thereby avoid damage)

Wartortle had to act quickly when it heard the command "Hypnosis". Using one of the strongest defensive moves known to pokemon, Wartortle covered the area around him, about a meter away from him, with a yellow sphere known as Protect. Hypnosis was negated by Protect, causing the defensive move to end its turn as Wartortle jumped back with a clear greater speed than Staravia can fly. Dodging both Hypnosis and the Wing Attack. "War!" The pokemon said, challenging the two pokemon to do better.

Joel quickly called to Staravia
"This is getting pointless Staravia come back"
Staravia flying over head and dropping Fennekin into Joel's arms. Joel then took Staravia's pokeball and returned Staravia to it; clipping the pokeball back onto his belt he started to run down the pathway away from Wartortle and towards Santalune City he wasn't going to enter the city yet as he still had to train but, he had to get away from Wartortle to at least try to protect Fennekin his best friend and partner from being harmed.

"War war war tortle tortle tortle!" The Wartortle said in a laughing manner as the trainer ran away. He then turned around with a smirk and walked back into the forrest.
As the two, Fennekin and Joel, were nearing the city, they encountered another pokemon. Though this was no ordinary encounter, hell no. A level 50 Rayquaza appeared!
"Rayquazaaaaaa!" The pokemon said. Though it was strange, it was known to exist in Hoenn, what was it doing here? Little did anyone know it was chased here by a group of poachers, strong but stupid poachers. The pokemon was angered, tired of being hunted down by these poachers, it would attack anyone it saw and that's what happened here. Rayquaza started this unexpected battle off with a Twister, sending a vicious tornado towards Joel and his Fennekin.

Joel heard the roar of the might Rayquaza and stumbled backwards calling to Fennekin
"Get behind me"
before, stepping back again the wind from the tornado blowing his hair all over the place. He then said to Fennekin
"Quickly we need to get you out of here buddy can't have you getting hurt"
After all he might have been amazed by the sight of the majestic creature but, he wasn't stupid and knew that an angry creature of legend was a dangerous one. Picking up Fennekin he dived out of the way of the attack and moved to get behind a rock at the side of the path to shield him from the outer effects of the Twister. Joel was trying to formulate a plan as, Fennekin barked at him
"Fennekin.. Fenn"
Joel saying
"Calm down buddy we'll be safe but... why's it here"
holding Fennekin tight as, his mind raced to find a safe solution as to how to deal with this particular situation; being attacked by a beast of legend.

Rayquaza used Hyper Voice out of anger to inflict damage on the Fennekin hiding behind the rock. "Quaza!" It screamed out. The trainer and his Fennekin wouldn't make it against this beastly pokemon, so why did they stay behind the rock? Why didn't they just run away, this interested Rayquaza, it showed courage, though it could also just be stupidity, only time will tell

Joel threw himself over Fennekin to protect him from the attack but, felt the full effect of it himself. After a minute he was able to move and picked Fennekin up bundling him into his coat he came out of hiding and called to Rayquaza
"I mean you no harm but, please mighty Raquaza why do you act this way"
Joel held onto Fennekin to protect him as, he stood there calmly looking to Rayquaza with his body language reflecting that he meant no harm hoping that Rayquaza wouldn't attack and he definitely wasn't willing to lead this mighty beast into the city as, he knew it would endanger the city's residents.
