Traditions are made to happen every year on that one day or week, but what happens when you don't do it?

In the year ____ (Idon'thaveayear!) a middle aged neko woman by the name Cyntheia was walking down an old dirt path to sacred ground where a very sacred ritual is to be preformed

A fox with twin-tails was doing his own sort of tradition his kind did every year.

He looked up as he saw his friend and waved to her.

"Hello Cynditheia."

Cyntheia turned her head over to her dear friend and kept a serious face as she bowed her head down "Hello my friend"

"What's up?"

"Not much... and you?"

"Same thing pretty much."

"Oh..."

The fox nodded. "Yeah..."

"off to your ritual are you?"

"Yep. And I'm guessing you are as well?"

Cyntheia nodded "Yes indeed"

"Ah. Good luck with yours," Niles said,

"Thank you, Niles" Cyntheia said slowly walking away

He watched her walk off. It seemed as though something was troubling her, but he didn't know if to bring it up or not. Shrugging, the twin-tailed fox head off to do his own before he made the past kitsunes mad.

Cyntheia came across a door. it was like a rock and only a sacred key of which she carried could open it... as Cyntheia opened the door she turned her head back and let out a sigh worrying about who was to be chosen for the sacrifice today... she hoped and preyed that it wasn't her close friend Niles but it wasn't up to her... it was up to the elders

Niles went to where other foxes were waiting. The others had more than one tail just like him, and they had come to take part in tradition like him.

Cyntheia had entered the place where she was to ask the elder, her sister Katherina about the sacrifice

Cyntheia bowed down to her sister's feet. as much as she hated to do so it had to be done "Please... elder, forgive my lateness.."

Niles and one of his friends, a three-tailed fox by the name of Rust, were talking about some things before things got started.

The elder, a black fox with nine tails, the most a kitsune could have, and the most powerful of the foxes, stood up.

"My brothers and sisters, it is time."
