Personality: Hikari is a bright, friendly young girl. She likes making friends with people and Pokemon alike. The only time you'll ever see the dark side of her is when she sees someone mistreating a Pokemon (or, if you eat her candy). She cares deeply for her Pokemon.
History:
Hikari was born in Mistralon City, and was raised by her mother. She had only once met her father, when she was eight. Her father, Kasai, was always traveling and just couldn't live a peaceful life in town. He simply didn't feel at home in an actual home. Soon after Hikari was born, he took of on another silly adventure.
Hikari herself spent her days playing with the Pokemon at home. Her mother had a Glameow, Purrloin, and Teddiursa, which were always seen romping around outside with Hikari and the other town's kids.
When Hikari was thirteen, she saw something odd. A friend's Pokemon, Riolu, seemed to be surrounded by an odd blue light. She pointed it out, but the others just looked at her like she was crazy. After that, she began to realize she could see this odd light surrounding any living thing, if she focused on it. It confused her, and no one else seemed to know what she was talking about. She told her mother, who acted like she had no idea what was happening to Hikari, but her expression showed differently.  
On Hikari's 13th birthday, something arrived in the mail. It was a Poke Ball, and a letter from her father, whom she had not seen in five years.

Hikari instantly demanded her mother explain, and explain now. She did. Her mother told her what Aura was, and explained that she could be an Aura Trainer like her father. She recommended that Hikari see what was inside the Poke Ball.
Hikari opened it up, and out popped an Espeon. Like he said, it was quite playful, but didn't get along much with the Purrloin or Glameow.
A week later, Hikari insisted that her mother let her leave home and adventure in the region her friends had been going on about, Kalos. It took hours, but her mother finally relented. She gave her Teddiursa to take along, saying she would feel better if she had a gift from her mother as well. Filled with excitement, Hikari boarded a plane headed for the Kalos region, ready for adventure.
