First badge? No problem for Ash! (open, companion /mod needed)

Ash arrived at the gym, ready for the first badge. "Ready Silver?" he asked his partner, looking down at the ice and dark type, who nodded in response. "Weavile." Silver said somewhat irritably, possibly still upset that he couldn't battle with Gavin's Eevee.

Ash pushed open the gym doors and walked inside without hesitaion, Silver following closely behind him.

The Oreburgh Gym is a narrow building built of stone. Two paths exist, a raised path that avoids the two Trainers and a middle path that takes challengers straight through the Gym. Roark waits on a raised hill at the end of the paths.

An average young boy wearing a cap and short pants approaches Ash. He's a Youngster Trainer. "Hi, Trainer. You've come to challenge Roark. See, there are two paths. If you want to battle me and the other Trainer, you can. Or, you can go ahead and fight Roark right away. What do you say? Name's Jonathon by the way."

"I'll battle both you and the other trainer before battling Roark. My name's Ash, nice meeting ya Jonathon." Ash said before Silver stood in front of Ash in a battle stance, ready to fight.

"Okay, then." The boy walked a few steps back just to give enough space for a battle to happen. "Come on out, Geodude!" He throws a Poke Ball and after it hit the ground, it opens and releases a red laser beam which formed into a silhouette of Geodude before the silhouette itself came to life. "Geodude," the rock Pokemon cries.

"I guess we'll start. Rock Throw!"

Geodude punches the ground sending rocks fliying at Silver!

"Use Quick Attack to dodge!" Ash commanded. Silver nodded before weaving through the attack as fast as he could. "Now use Ice Shard!" The coordinator/trainer added. Once Silver was close enough he launched sharp shards of ice Geodude's way.

Geodude, M, Lv. 11 (Forgot to tell you, sorry.)

No matter how fast Geodude tried to move just to evade, he couldn't help but get hit by the ice shards. It's a super effective attack backed with a STAB bonus. The battle's finished quickly. It's probably what's going to happen to the next youngster.

Silver the Weavile gained 11 EXP points!

The disappointed youngster takes out a Poke Ball and focuses it at his fainted friend. It shot a beam of red laser like it did before and sucked Geodude back in. "Aw, bummer. Nah, this usually happens to Gym Trainers. Good job, challenger. Hey, Darius, come in here! It's your turn," the Youngster Jonathon called as he walked back to where he was. Another youngster approaches.

"Hi! I'm Darius. I see you beat my friend. I won't let that happen to me! Onix, come out," he boasted and out of his Poke Ball comes a Level 9, Male, Onix.

"Bind him before he's able to do something," he instructed. Onix quickly attempted to wrap his tail around Weavile so he can crush the little Pokemon.

"Shadow ball, then ice shard!" Ash said quickly. Silver nodded and charged up a black sphere of dark type energy before launching it as the tail wrapped around his small body and began to squeez him tightly. With great difficulty, Silver fired an Ice shard attack at Onix's face.

Both attacks hit. Quickly, Onix fainted. He was no match for such a super effective attack. His body uncoiled and would leave Weavile to crash down the ground. Silver gained 9 EXP! Silver leveled up 13!

"Eh...," the boy muttered in disappointment. He couldn't run now, this is a Trainer battle. He took Onix back to his Ball and sent a Level 9 Geodude to the battlefield. He'll just have to watch his Geodude get destroyed by a super effective hit. There's nothing else to do anyway.

Ash stared blankly at their opponent as he ordered another Ice Shard from Silver, who obliged with a lazy  cry before firing the attack at the Geodude.

As the youngster predicted, his rocky fella fainted right away.

Weavile has grown to Level 15 and learned the following moves: Faint Attack, Icy Wind

"Alright, alright, I'm down," the youngster said withdrawing his last Pokémon. All that's left is the gym leader. The youngster confirms that by nudging his head towards the direction that leads to the leader Roark.

Ash gave a small smile and, out of the sudden urge to, gentally petted the youngster's head as he walked past with a low chuckle. He continued down the pathway until he came to steps leading up to a rocky platform.

The young boy just eyed Ash as he walked away after that pet on the head, unsure if that was a compliment or mock.

Roark watched his challenger walk up nearer to him. While Ash is on his way, Roark would say, "Welcome! This is the Oreburgh Pokémon Gym! I'm Roark, the Gym Leader! I'm but one Trainer who decided to walk proudly with Rock-type Pokémon! As the Gym Leader, I need to see your potential as a trainer. And, I'll need to see the toughness of the Pokémon that battle with you!"

Ash smirked, replying with, "Then I'll show how tough my Pokemon are." as he released Piplup, who decided to show off and spun rapidly on her toes before stopping in an elegant curtsey. Silver stared blankly at both Roark and Piplup, unsure if he wanted to see the outcome of the battle.

"Hello, Happy Feet," joked Roark in reference to that Thisney movie about Piplups and penguins. Unfortunately, no ducks were in it. Quack.

"Come out, Geodude!"

From his thrown Poké Ball comes out a Level 12 male Geodude.

"Attract." Ash said, watching the battle with mild interest. Piplup obliged by making her cute face and winking at Geodude, sending many pink hearts his way. Silver smirked at Roark's joke, thinking of using it later on.

Geodude's rock heart pumped in a special way. He's developing some sort of lovey-dovey with a penguin. Oh, such pet rock in love with a penguin. Much sweet. So scare. Wow.

"Geodude, snap out of it. Time to get serious with Rock Throw," commanded Roark. Geodude punches the ground, making rocks fly at the opponent.

"Pound, followed up with Bubble." Ash grunted. Piplup nodded and jumped off one of the flying rocks into the air, nose diving towards Geodude as she opened her beak to let out many  bubbles as one of the many flying rocks hit her left foot, causing her to spin uncontrolably.

The out of control Bubbles didn't really make that much of damage. Only a few hit Geodude's hide. "Heard you like rocks. Rock Throw again!"

That was good, until Geodude chose not to follow and hovered closer to Piplup, asking if she's okay. Looks like Attract kicked in.

Silver rose an eyebrow as Piplup smiles and nodded, before she began to try and kick Geodude rapeatedly in the face with Pound without Ash telling hwr what attack to use next.

Geodude was hit. It didn't do any damage. Just barely. It felt like soft taps on his hide. That pissed him off. Attract faded. For now.

"Well, snap out! Geodude, snap out of it and use Tackle!"

At this very close range, Geodude would ram at Piplup.

Piplup got hit by the tackle and dug her heels onto the ground as she was pushed back. "Bubble." Ash requested, tone soft as he saw how tired the small penguin pokemon was. Piplup nodded, panting slightly before launching another bubble attack at Geodude.

Unfortunately, the same short range works for Piplup. Bubble pelted and Geodude used another Tackle.

"Dodge, then Bubble one more time." Piplup huffed and jumped to the side before letting off one more bubble attack.

It hit and Tackle.

(Rushed.)

Piplup got hit by the tackle attack and winced. "Switch out with Silver." Ash said with a click of his tounge. The eleven year old seemed calm and collected as he watched Piplup and Silver switch places between the sidlines and the battlefield.
