Sailing Away, Amidst the Ocean's Morning Breeze

Alice was surprised when Spark didn't do much to the Starmie. Despite it's protect, Alice continued to hammer away at it, with Lumineon coming down from it's Bounce attack to strike Starmie. Alice ordered Lanturn to use another Spark attack.

Starmie kept on sleeping blissfully until Gyarados used Hydro Pump on the rock and it broke in half. Starmie fell down and the rock fell on top of it. It woke up, still groggy and hopped slowly to the water, floating on it's surface and dozing off there, but forgetting to put up a Protect.

Alice somehow had three Pokemon out instead of just the two. So now she ordered Gyarados to use Dragon Rage, Lanturn to use Spark and Lumineon to use Gust. Hopefully this would faint Starmie and allow Alice to capture it.

Starmie was woken up properly, but not angry. It simply and calmly started using Recover.

(I figured it would be good to have a cool-headed pokemon in your party)

Alice saw that it was using recover to try and shrug off the attacks from the three Pokemon, it must have been pretty tough to survive so many repeated attacks. Alice decided she would keep pressing on so she ordered Gyarados to use Dragon Rage, Lanturn to use Spark and Lumineon to use Gust.

Gyarado started loafing around again, ignoring orders. It's attitude towards it's new trainer was still pretty cool. It'll take time to warm up. Lanturn reluctantly used Spark, then without orders used Thunder Wave to prevent Starmie from Recovering again. Starmie was weak. It could now either be captured, or could be defeated and exp gained from it.

Alice saw that Starmie was weak now, so she ignored the fact that her Pokemon betrayed her orders and threw a Pokeball at Starmie. She needed to capture it. Starmie was Paralyzed and had been beaten quite severely, but Alice liked that it was such a hardy Pokemon and would enjoy having it on her team. Alice recalled Gyarados and Lumineon.

The pokeball clicked because even though Alice didn't know, Starmie always wanted to have a trainer. Growing tired of the same old beach everyday, it battle to grow stronger, to be noticed and to travel the world with it's trainer. One day it found a Water stone in the sand and used it to evolve. Lanturn jumped in the water and fetched the pokeball, balancing it on it's nose and showing off.
