New beginnings (open)

Liara nodded to Andrew, following his words carefully. "I think, you should do what you think is right, though I know the answer might not be clear now. Do what will give you satisfaction, not someone else. It's your life, not theirs." She wasn't all that great at pep talks, but she felt obligated to say something. She stood after that and quickly memorized Cubone's attack list in her head. She returned the Cubone's thumb up with a smile of her own. Soon a small blue pokemon had jumped out, drawing her attention to it and closing her mind from anything else.

Liara held back a goofy expression that otherwise would have come onto her face upon seeing the small elephant pokemon. It was just so adorable! Still she needed to keep her game face on since she would be battling with a pokemon she wasn't exactly used to. "Ok, Cubone, let's try and weaken this Phanpy! Give it your best Headbutt!" She figured a direct opening hit would be the best way to go with this. It would hopefully allow a short reaction time for the Phanpy, she would just have to wait and see.

"Phaaan!" Phanpy trumpeted, seeing the Cubone charge in with an attack. Though it might be reckless, the Phanpy didn't dodge. Instead, it decided to charge right back with a Tackle attack! Certainly if one was hit, both would be, and if so Phanpy would clearly take more damage. However, it seemed to be planning something

Seeing the oncoming Tackle, Liara thought quickly knowing the risk of losing time in a battle caused be backlash of both crashing head on attacks. Going through a list of possibilities in her head she yelled out to Andrew's Cubone. "Cubone! Roll to the side now and then retaliate with a swift Bone Club from behind!" The Cubone would hopefully follow her orders. It appeared to be doing so as it just barely managed to break from it's run and into a tumble, standing quickly and then lifting it's bone high in the air attempting to bring it down on the Phanpy.

"Phan?" Phanpy asked, as its tackle met nothing but air. Suddenly, it felt the crack of the bone club against its back, cringing and crying out, "Phaaan!" in return. It was a nice hit, and due to level difference Phanpy took a decent amount of damage. Phanpy halted for a moment, before wildly charging at Cubone, flailing about as its form of attack.

"Phanpy..." He muttered underneath his own breath as he watched the two Pokemon go into a death stare. Moment's later as he relaxed within the shadow underneath the tree itself, his legs split yet one leg was flat against the ground... His whole foot rocking back and fourth. While his elbow rested against his raised knee, a smirk soon curled around watching his own Pokemon in battle. This was a first, seeing his partner within battle without actually the one calling the commands "Your doing great Cubone... Keep up the good work." At first he soon shouted out. Though with his eyes sliding back to Azula, the felt bad the softer sigh as would scoot over Lifting Azula's head against his resting leg, like a pillow.

"Liara, show confidence through your words... Don't show your opponent any fear what so ever!" His own words echoed through the battle field. Watching the two battle it out exchanging hits upon one another as it just started it could have been already finished. Only time will tell dratini soon laid right beside Andrew resting "After this... I think we need to hit the Pokemon Center." Paused and soon looked to Azula as well "Almost done buddy... A couple more minutes and we will be on the way." A bright smile, and soon he would look into the sky the clouds that floated on by drifted within the current, wishing he could do the same.

Liara smirked when she saw Cubone's hit land, they had this. The flail would need to be dealt with before anything though. The confidence Andrew was supplying really helped her own though so she fully believed in herself and Cubone. Liara pulled out one of her pokeballs, preparing to throw it with precise aim at the phanpy. "Ok, Cubone, good work so far! We've got this!" As phanpy drew close to Cubone, Liara knew something she could do that would get Cubone out of the way in time. "Cubone! Now, jump onto Phanpy's back and then off! Like a game of leap frog!" Cubone! Cubone was just barely tall enough to do as instructed, hopefully confusing the Phanpy in the process. Either way, after Liara was sure that Cubone had cleared the vault, she chucked the pokeball at the elephant pokemon in an attempt to catch it. "I've got you right where I want you!" Liara watched anxiously, partially biting her lip. This would be her first attempt at catching a pokemon. She hoped everything went well. Then they would most definitely need to go to the pokemon center.

Liara was lucky, but only because Cubone was a higher leveled Pokemon. Had she attempted to catch Phanpy after only one solid hit with a closer level, the Phanpy might have put up more of a struggle. They were notoriously difficult to catch, after all. However, as it stood this was not the case. The ball pelted the Phanpy, a red light absorbing the small Pokemon within it. Phanpy struggled to break loose, the ball shaking and lighting up vigorously. Once, twice, three times and the ball came to rest with a light dinging sound. Liara caught a Phanpy! Nickname the newly caught Phanpy?

Liara couldn't believe it. She'd actually caught it. Slowly she walked over and picked up the pokeball, staring at it in awe before a smile broke out on her face."Well you put up a good fight so I should give you a proper name. Ella sounds like a good name for you. I'll look forward to getting to meet you properly after you've healed up a bit. Alright, time to go to the pokemon center." Liara knew she probably looked funny talking to the pokeball, but she hoped in some way the communication would just be there.

She turned her attention back on Cubone and kneeled down to his level."Good job out there, little buddy. You're a really good listener and fighter." Liara went to rub the cubone's head as incouragement for it's job well done. She stood again and walked back over to where Andrew would be. It seemed he'd shifted over Azula so that she was somewhat propped on his leg. She sighed at the touching sight, but they needed to get going. "So you ready to get going? I think I can carry Azula a little bit further, you said it's just around the corner right? Anyway, thanks again for letting me use Cubone, here. He's an amazing pokemon. I have you two to thank for Ella." Liara's smile could rival any other. While she was very concerned for the health of both her pokemon now, she had just caught her first pokemon and nothing could beat that adrenaline rush.
