Best Region?

If I'm not wrong you have been playing the pokémon games and watched anime series. Well what is your favourite region?

Kanto vs. Johto vs. Hoenn vs. Sinnoh vs. Unova

I say Johto. :3 It's like the best storylines(Baby Lugia, Suicune, and a lot of legendary encounters, and then the ninetales that is about a hundred years old(that building it lived in caught my attention. I was like "Whoa! Beautiful!" Cooler than Ecruteak City!) Both "normal" pokemon encounters and legendary encounters brought such great stories!! <3) and the best Pokemon. It also introduces one of my favourite pokemon types(I LOVE Dark Type pokemon, particularly Umbreon) You see, it is the only region that introduced something new. Every region after that was just redundant, and Johto just feels more like home (to me). :3 (Both the show and the game is good. I just felt like pulling examples from the Pokemon series.)

i'm nothing like any of you, i'm the only one that voted for unova, it was wierd at first, but it growed on me, so i picked, also it has snivy evo, zoura, and zoroark, gotta love them

I have to go with Johto. Generation 2 was one of the most changing moments in Pokemon. It's generation added factors like breeding, gender, happiness/evolution, a number of very powerful pokemon that are still such today, and the fact that well, the gym leaders are just not at all the helpful types.

Unova. Having played all the generations, I just love the way they played up the "cool" factor in so many Unova Pokemon. It's home to my favorite pair of games, and it was the first new generation released during my time as a Pokemon fan. It has modern things like an amusement park and such, and Team Plasma is interesting in that they have an actual cover story for their evil (liberating Pokemon) rather than just being evil for evil's sake.

o3o except that they look like weirdos dressed as knights of the medieval thingy or something. kekekekeke

Why, Ace, why? - I'm sure you're asking yourselves that.

Well, first off, it was the first game I owned from the Pokemon series.

Second, its Pokemon were unique and innovative. It's plot line was the first with a reason other than greed: The Magmas and The Aquas, with a rivalry like that of the Bloods and Crips, brought a new brand of evil to the table. The two groups were, essentially, nature extremists. The friction they had was unique in that they were just as interested in defeating each other as they were defeating you. Something that stands unprecedented even with ensuing games that returned to the 'one villainous group' rule. Not only that, but the two teams succeeded in actually making the player feel impending doom. Especially in Emerald, where it was played out with both teams. That aside, your rival was more of a friend..which was either a good or bad thing for players, depending on opinion I suppose.

Aside from that, it introduce all kinds of interesting mechanics, like diving. Pokemon like Nincada who evolved into to two Pokemon, or Wurmple, who is split into two evolution chains entirely, was interesting in its own right.

I vote for Kanto. It's the region; I know the most, and it is what Pokemon Red, the first Pokemon Game I've played is all about. By the way, when will this poll close?

It seems there's alot votes for Kanto, but I'm voting for Unova, the storyline is cool, and some of the pokemon too!
