Looking for a Balloon under some boulders.

A freak thunderstorm had passed over the Kanto region minutes before, the strong girl had turned in to a drenched one. Her clothes were soaked through and her hair was plastered to her face. The pokedex device had shot up and began speaking to her informing her of a pokemon named Zapdos being in the area. Whoever Zapdos was she wondered if it would pay for the dry cleaning of her outfit. Thankfully before losing her memory, the young girl had packed a change of clothing so the first place the pair would visit would be the pokemon centre. Yes that is right, the pair. You see Lunar Knight never travelled alone, very rarely would the pink pokemon beside her be held within it's pokeball. Tung didn't like it and to be honest neither did Lunar. Sure she knew she would once her team was building have to resort to keeping some in balls. That is why she was saving up her money, she intended to buy five luxury balls so that the pokemon she caught had nice resting places. The reason they ended up in Pewter City was actually because of a pokemon. They had chased a jigglypuff here but sadly they lost it when it entered the gym. She didn't want to enter that place all drenched and yucky looking. So the jigglypuff would escape her for now.

Tung and the female had instead walked around town looking for the pokemon centre. See she knew about gyms only because of the pamphlet within her bag. It seemed her past self had thought of everything and upon waking up with no recollection of anything, not even the pink pokemon beside her, she had begun to read the entire contents of her bag pacl. Including the directions on how to use hairspray. the diary confirmed many things and pamphlets and stuff gave her the knowledge she needed for living in the pokemon world. Though she had no idea were the Pokedex came from OR who she was or if she had family or how she even found Tung. Her past self wasn't the best at diary entries. Someone needed to kick her in the butt. Finally they found the pokecentre and Lunar would hand over Tung to have a full health check after the storm while she herself freshened up. Changing in to her normal clothes. Tung and her had an agreement, they would travel and defeat the gyms building up an array of pokemon whom held the normal type as they did. She had an affinity with them, she actually understood what they said vocally, its like her head was supposed to be able to talk to normal type pokemon.

Standing at the gym, the young girl and Tung would push the door open, The jigglypuff was probably already gone by now, but if it were around she would hopefully have the ability to capture it. If not she would still be needed hear to defeat Brock. Choosing to be lazy and take the easy road she and Tung would easily make it to the rock type pokemon trainer. "Hello My Brock, I'm Lunar and this is Tung, we would like to challenge you to a pokemon battle" she would say gently.

[OOC - i know a lot of mods seem to increase the level of gym trainers to make it fairer, but it seems to negate training, so for my first gym and league i would really appreciate it if we used the normal levels given in the games if thats ok.]

Upon noticing the young lady called Lunar enter the gym he had arisen from a seat he had been waiting in, personally he didn't like having to sit there and wait as he felt like he could be doing more productive things whilst awaiting challengers but, still the rules are the rules. He then heard Lunar issue a challenge and after looking at Tung he happily said "As a gym leader it is my job to push you to your limits and bring out the best in you to earn my gym badge so, I accept your challenge" he then jumped down from his slightly elevated position of the chair atop a rock and said "Follow me to the battle field young lady" Brock then led Lunar around beyond the rock that he was on and it revealed a slightly larger and more rugged battlefield where they would be able to truly have a good battle.

Brock positioned himself at one end of the marked out battlefield and looked to Lunar saying "This will be a two on two battle with only the challenger being allowed the courtesy of changing pokemon" though he said this he hadn't realized that she only had Tung or how strong Tung even was though he wasn't underestimating them in any way. As a gym leader he knew to be ready for anything as he grasped the first pokeball from his belt launching it into the air and yelling "Geodude your up first" the pokeball opening in mid air and unleashing a burst of white energy which in turn revealed what looked to be a rock with arms but was of course his first pokemon Geodude. He looked to Lunar and asked "Do those rules work with you and if so are you ready challenger?" shifting his feet to be able to stand more comfortably whilst maintaining eye contact with Lunar.

"Thank you" she would say to the gym leader after he had accepted her challenge, following the young man towards the battle field Lunar would stand in awe, she wondered if every gym had been set up for the gym leaders unique types. This gym had rocks covering the battle field most likely for places to hide, rock pokemon were good at blending in to the environment after all. Smiling gently as she listened to the explanation she would then watch as the Geodude was sent out. Her instinct kicked in and her hand would shoot to the device upon her waist, kept within a holster she had fashioned herself. The pokedex [first edition] would be opened and the voice of dexter would ring out in the gym. Geodude the rock pokemon,Found in fields and mountains. Mistaking them for boulders, people often step or trip on them. the voice would say. Gulping softly she would look to her own pokemon before looking to the gym leader. "U...Um i only have the one pokemon...." she would say gently. Tung was her only pokemon so this gym may be tougher than she had anticipated.

A wicked fire lit within her eyes as she returned the stare of the gym leader, "But that doesn't mean i don't want to continue, Tung and i will do our best" she said, nodding to her pokemon whom would take centre stage. "Ok Tung, let's show them our power, EARTHQUAKE" shouted the trainer, as she shouted she would punch her fist in to the air,a show of determination perhaps? her movements in training had taken over and when she realized she would lower her hand shyly. The Pink bipedal pokemon on the other hand showed no shyness. Instead it's foot would rise softly before striking the ground below. Lunar was quick to hit the ground, kneeling down and placing her hands on the floor for support. The entire gym would begin to shake violently as the earth around erupted from the quake, Lunar though shaken herself would not take her eyes from the battle.

Brock smiled when the trainer clearly new to this sort of thing pulled out a pokedex to scan Geodude prior to the battle reminiscing back to when he used to travel. He was intrigued though when Lunar revealed she only had one pokemon with her and that it was Tung but, still he didn't underestimate her or he partner just focusing on the task at hand. Before he could declare the battle to start Lunar and Tung made their move using Earthquake; clearly new though it would have been their move anyway. Brock being a rock type gym leader was used to moves like Earthquake and merely stood his ground. Geodude meanwhile tried holding his ground on the shaking rocky battlefield but, had great difficulty being thrown about but, still being kinda used to the bumps and crashes from his time in the wild having tests of strength by smashing against other Geodude.

Once the move subsided Brock called to Geodude "Okay Geodude let's show them a Rock Polish and then follow it up with Tackle!" Geodude's body beginning to glow a bright white as Rock Polish started to take effect causing Geodude's speed to increase rapidly. Geodude then followed it up by dashing towards Tung with incredible speed thanks to the Rock Polish and his speed would also help in increasing the power put behind the Tackle attack.

It was obvious that the rock type pokemon was well trained, The earthquake caused by Tung was a move that was super effective. Yet it stood its ground regardless of the massive damage it would have taken, due to it being a physical technique the damage would be sliightly minimized due to the rock type defence Geodude was granted with. Now the next move would come, the geodudes speed increased by the rock polish technique. It would then begin its movement for the tackle attack. "TUNG MOVING ICE BEAM" exclaimed Tung's trainer. The podgy pokemn would show some speed for its size, as it began to move to the right ice would begin forming the beam that would soon be shot, not at the geodude but at the floor of the arena causing the floor to rapidly freeze over. Doing this while moving would allow the lickitung to leave some of the gym were he had previously been standing ice free to allow for movement to dodge. The ice move used strategically should pose a threat to the fast moving geodude, changing direction would be a challenge as would halting its movement. "NOW MUDDY WATER" shouted the female as she clenched her fists. The lickiting would push its chubby hands together as an orb of brown water seemed to manifest from no were. Striking the ground in front the water would rush out covering the battle field in its vast quantity. Speed can sometimes be a disadvantage, was it one of these times?

As the ice covered part of the battlefield Brock remained calm just watching Geodude as he flew over it; not literally of course but, because he'd launched himself towards Tung with his great strength thereby flying over the ice and when Lunar and Tung used Muddy Water he still watched until it edged near him. Brock then shook his foot to get some of the mud off of his boots then looking back to Geodude who was still hurtling over the Ice and Mud and getting closer to Tung now thanks to the time that had been wasted with the two moves used by the challengers.

"That's it Geodude now hit them full power!" Brock called thrusting his right fist forwards as, Geodude appeared to go slightly faster having been spurred by Brock moving towards Tung now at his own terminal velocity aiming to do as much damage to Tung as he could.

It would seem that the young normal type pokemon trainer had misjudged, Geodude had actually thrown its body OVER the floor thus the ice was unable to effect it. The flying Geodude was so high up that it actually evaded the waves of muddy water that shot from the Lickitungs stubby arms. But you see the Geodude and Brock had also made a minor mistake, Lickitung had actually made a movement when using the ice beam that the geodude had fulyl avoided from being in the air. This would mean its flight would not be in the way of Lickitung. how would the rock type pokemon move in the air. Could it. "WE HAVE THEM TUNG, ICE BEAM" she would shout once more. This time Tung would smile as it began to release the powerful ice beam at the Geodude whom had begun to fly past the normal type pokemon. How would it avoid this move?

The final nail within the rock types coffin was the beautiful beam rushing from the mouth of the large tongue pokemon. Lickitung or Tung as it was known had performed beautifully, having not only taken out a single pokemon without taking any damage, but at the same time having successfully manipulated the battle field to his own liking. Yes, the combination of Ice beam which had previously been used to cover almost the entire floor of the gym was now covered in water mixed with mud. This mean't that the Onyx would have to travel through the muddy water getting its body wet. That would enhance the freezing ability of the ice beam. She had also demonstrated the earthquake technique. Onyx was a pokemon that created burrows that Diglett used underground. It was known for the display of the dig technique, but dig would mean taking even more damage from the earthquake. So Onyx would have to travel through the liquid while maintaining its balance upon the ice below. While Tung had an area he could move around in, granted limited as it was.

"Well done Tung, your doing beautifully" she would say, before the Onyx was sent out, she would nod gently to the gym leaders advice. "Every bit of advice is great, thank you for helping me improve" she would say with a smile. Now the Onyx was sent out. "Ok Tung, this is were thing's get tricky" she would say to her pokemon. "Dun worry gurl, i wont be caught of guard," the bipedal pink pokemon would state, though the rock type leader would only here the casual [i][pink]"Tung,tung Lickitung lickiii"[/color]. "Lets play this safe, SUPERSONIC" the female would exclaim. though as she did a hint of a smile would be caught at the end of her mouth. Did she fully intend on a supersonic attack to work or was this simply a ploy. Whether it was or not the attack would begin. the pink pokemon would release a screech from its enlarged mouth that would present itself in 3 spiralling rings that enlarged the closer they got to the giant rock worm like pokemon.

So her plan had not went one hundred percent to plan, but what plan does. The lower part of Onyx's body had moved around the liquid covering its tail end. A little bit of her plan was coming to fruition. Now it was probably a really clever idea, utilizing the rock tomb as a means of movement. Or it would have been if it were not a plan doomed to fail. For as the first rock fell in to place the female trainer would utter a single word to her dominating pokemon. "Disable". The move that would halt any further use of the Rock tomb. The tung would glow a vibrant purple before the aura shifted flying towards the abnormally large rock formation that was known as Onyx. If it were lucky it may be able to drop a couple more rocks yet the distance was to great. "Ice Beam" ordered the trainer, a fire in her eyes as she smiled gently. The rock pokemon had no were to go, its huge size also made it an easy target. So the order had been given and the frozen fractals would join within the mouth of the Lickitung only to be fired from the mouth in the form of a concentrated beam, first aimed at the rocks the Onyx had placed while moving in an upward motion to freeze the serpant pokemon along with the newly laid rocks. Lunar would wait, holding on as she gritted her teeth. Would this be the completion of her first every gym battle.

[/justify]The gym leader spectated eagrly as the beam of ice struck the mighty serpent before it had the chance to hurt the opposing Pokemon. The pathway that it had tried to pave was halted by the use of the move Disable and the rigid Pokemon was rendered utterly useless. The ice type attack struck hard and the Onyx screeched painfully, letting out a hollow howl in a rocky voice. The beam struck the serpentine hard enough to floor it. Segments of the gigantic Onyx reached the icy floor of what was once a rocky battlefield one by one from the bottom up. Each one cracked the ice below and splashed the muddy water hard in a process that lasted a long time. Eventually, the beast was laid flat on the ground below and it continued to slide a few feet towards the direction in which it had landed.

The loud yells finally stopped and after a moment of brief suspense, the Onyx was completely silenced and evidently unable to continue to partake in the battle and therefore, the victor was officially decided. Brock walked across the icy surface below towards Lunar Knight and spoke en route, "That is the most impressive display I've seen since.." He recalled the last time he had been defeated, by the trainer with the Dratini. "Oh well.." He paused and returned the Onyx to its capsule as he walked past it, careful not to slip on the icy terrain. As he finally reached the challenger, he stopped walking and stood in front of her.
"I took you for granted, and so I lost. As proof of your victory, I confer on you this...the official Pokémon League BoulderBadge." He paused and smiled, "A TM, Technical Machine, contains a technique for Pokémon. Using a TM teaches the move it contains to a Pokémon. TM39 contains Rock Tomb. It hurls boulders at the foe and lowers its speed." He presented her with the TM39. "And the prize money.." He then gave her 1400 in cash. "You appear to be very gifted as a Pokemon Trainer. So allow me to make a suggestion; Go to the gym in Cerulean and test your abilities."

Her sly grin would turn in to an overwhelming smile, as the onyx began to falter, the bipedal pokemon gifted with the name Tung would turn to face his trainer. It was hard to believe but this was in a way, their very first pokemon battle against another trainer. As she smiled her bipedal pink pokemon would do the same before plodding over to receive a very special tackle attack from Lunar. As the pink pokemon walked over to the girl, she took off at a run. Her arms outstretched as she dove in to the pink pokemon for a flying tackle hug. The two would fall over giggling as they hugged. The love between girl and pokemon was clear to see. "You were phenomenal Tung, thank you" she would say to the Lickitung. Standing up and holding out her hand for the Lickitung she would help him to his feet before the gym leader of rock came over. As he did she gave a wide grin as she stood next to her power house pokemon.

As he spoke she would nod gently, Cerulean city. Well they had a new destination, she would thank the trainer of this gym for the rewards and pin her badge to her tie alllowing the world to see she was now competition to other trainers. Accepting the money and tm she would turn to her Lickitung and grant it the ability to use the Technical Machine, As she touched the TM to the pokemon's forhead it would release a mumble as if it were meditating. Its eyes opened upon completion. "Move learning successful?" she asked. "yup yup yup, Rock Tomb learned Loony" the pink pokemon would state as she herself bidded farewell to brock. "I TOLD YOU NEVER CALL ME THAT" she said in the huff as she and her best friend left the gym.
