Information and Rules Regarding Humans
- Humans are often unaware of Magical Girls and Witches unless they are shown that the strange world exists. This can be done through interacting with Kyubey, a Magical Girl, or encountering a Witch.
- If a human is caught in a Witch's Maze, it is impossible for them to escape without the help of a Magical Girl. If they are simply given a Witch's Kiss, it will fade if they are able to leave the area around the Maze in time while fighting the effects.
- Human girls are able to become Magical Girls by making a wish to Kyubey. Once the wish is made, there is no turning back.

Information and Rules Regarding Magical Girls
- A Magical Girl is created after they make a wish to Kyubey. We ask that the wish be realistic, as even Kyubey has his limits when he's not working with someone who has immeasurable potential.
- When a Magical girl is created, a Soul Gem is also created to house their essence. If a Soul Gem is destroyed, the Magical Girl will die. A Magical Girl must also be within a mile radius of their Soul Gem or else their body will no longer be under their control and they will fall unconscious until the Soul Gem is back within the radius.
- Soul Gems will grow darker over time unless cleansed using a Grief Seed. Using too much of one individual Grief Seed can result in the Witch re-awakening. If a Soul Gem grows black, the Magical Girl will be more prone to emotional mood swings, and one dark emotion will most likely cause them to transition into becoming a Witch. Their Soul Gem will then become a Grief Seed.
- The death of a Magical Girl or transition into a Witch is ultimately determined by the creator of the character. However, things must be logical. If it seems inevitable, it is best to let things happen. Such is the life of a Magical Girl.
- Magical Girls have unique powers and abilities depending on the wish that they made. While this is up to the imagination, it isn't room to god-mod. Your character must have limits and weaknesses.

Information and Rules Regarding Witches
- A Witch is created after a Magical Girl's Soul Gem transitions into a Grief Seed through dark emotion and despair. At this point, they often no longer feel human emotions such as compassion or mercy.
- A Maze will then be created in the spot that the Witch fell into despair. This Maze becomes the Witch's domain and seems like a world in its own dimension until the Witch is destroyed.
- The attacking abilities of a Witch will resemble what they once were for the Magical Girl they no longer are. Just as in Magical Girl abilities, they must have limits and weaknesses.
- Familiars are crafted in order to protect the Witch's Maze, and each Witch may have up to five Familiars.
- A Witch is able to give the Witch's Kiss to any human that wanders in the same area (be it building, park boundaries, or some other way to signify the area). This Kiss will drive humans to despair and often make them easy prey for the Witch or its Familiars.
- Just with Magical Girls, a Witch's death is determined by the creator of the character if it is a player-crafted character. Things must be kept realistic.

Kyubey is an Incubator/Messenger of Magic. Because of this, he, like his race, cannot exhibit emotions of any kind. As a result, Kyubey often appears cold, calculating and scheming; traits that make him appear villainous. Kyubey, however, only seeks to achieve a goal; to preserve the universe from entropy. To meet this goal, he takes all means logically efficient and reasonable; namely creating Magical Girls. Initially, Kyubey appears enthusiastic to help the Magical Girls in their quest, offering advice where applicable, however, as more of his true motive is revealed, either by him or others, Kyubey becomes progressively more passive and observatory in manner (although this could be because he has no advice left to offer).

Kyubey is often accused of trickery and deceit by turning girls into Magical Girls, and subsequently witches, treating humans as energy livestock under the guise of being a miracle granter. Although this can easily be understood, Kyubey states that he never intended to "trick" Magical Girls, but simply leave out traumatizing subtext in order to make the process more appealing to a potential Magical Girl.

Kyubey uses certain speech patterns that indicate he may see himself as superior to the magical girls; the lack of honorifics, the use of the pronouns "Boku" (僕) and "Kimi" (君) and the misuse or overall lack of polite verbs suggests that he is either rude or very casual towards the girls. However, due to his emotionless nature, and the fact that he is an alien, Kyubey may simply not understand the need to be polite, as opposed to being direct.

Kyubey apparently enjoys hot baths and human food, as evidenced in the second episode of the anime.
