Personality:
Tai is a very simple kid who is hard to excite. He doesn't enjoy crowds, but loves to be around Pokemon even if he doesn't show it. This leads to Tai giving off a vibe that he is distant from the world around him, when in fact he is merely studying it, in a sense. As part of his cool and calm nature, Tai seeks to learn what he can from observation without making a big fuss himself.

Battle Style:
Calm, cool, collective. Tai doesn't let the battle overwhelm him, and takes things as they come. Often planning ahead, he primarily aims to scout out his enemy and then counterattack. However, he will make the first move if he deems it necessary. He's essentially a tactician, but at the same time won't risk his Pokemon's safety for the sake of learning the enemies moves. If this is the case and Tai is unable to think of a proper strategy, he will use a frontal assault to buy him time to think of one.

Past Experience / History:
When Tai was still a young child, his older brother left for a Pokemon journey. This was not the last time Tai saw his older brother, but it did mean things would change for him. It was also around this time that Tai started getting interested in Pokemon, and would often pretend to go on his own adventure, daydreaming his time away. During one of these "moments," when Tai was about 7 or 8, he pretended to be battling his older brother, who had just come home for a short period of time and left less than a week ago. In the end, Tai was of course victorious, having used a Ralts and Treecko, two Pokemon Tai had recently learned about. It was through this self-induced infatuation that Tai eventually became obsessed with both Ralts and Treecko, wanting them for real.

When Tai was older and looking at the prospect of leaving for his Pokemon adventure, he would always talk about having a Ralts and Treecko at his side. His parents knew that new trainers started off with only one Pokemon and that Professor Birch of Littleroot Town gave Treecko as a starter Pokemon. As such, they decided to try and get Tai a Ralts for his 10th birthday, or even better a Ralts egg. Through a few connections and phone calls they were able to seal the deal, and presented the Pokemon egg to Tai just as planned. It eventually hatched into the Ralts known as Psy, and the two have been best buddies since.

Now ready to start his adventure with Psy at his side, the two depart from Mossdeep City en route to Littleroot Town, having decided to start their new journey from the "beginning", so to speak. They don't know what the future has in stock for them, but they know together they'll manage.

Psy is a very timid and easily freaked out Pokemon. This leads to a sense of uncertainly in battle, which is very hard to shake. It dosn't necessarily have a negative impact on Psy's battle capabilities, but can lead to problems when trying to unleash Psy's full potential.
