"Good Morning Alix"

"Good Morning Mom."

Alix still groggy sat up in her bed rubbing her one eye while the other searched her room. The room was decorated in all things pokemon, from a giant stuffed snorlax sitting in the corner nearest her cloths closet, to the posters that covered her light green walls of her room. Not to mention the dozen's of toys and plushies scattered on dressers and in all other corners of her room.

"You can come in Mom."

She said after giving a good stretch of her upper body.

"Well, how is my beautiful girl doing this morning?"

She said with a big smile on her face, knowing how big of a day today was for her little girl. Her arms clearly hiding something behind her back, she never really tried that hard to hide things anyway. Her mother who was always dressed up, even if she didn't have to go to work. Wearing a white buttoned up shirt untucked with tight fitting blue jeans, a brightly colored green belt could be seen matching her socks and tanktop seen under her white shirt. Her beautiful three shelled necklace she always wore that her father gave her for their 10th anniversary. It was special because he made it himself, it was tacky but it didn't matter to what it represented.

"I'm doing good..."

She acted as if there nothing special going on. Waiting for her mother to give a look, so she could continue.

"I'm kidding, I'm incredibly excited."

The smile on her face became huge has she hopped around in place with her curled infront of her. Today wasn't just any day, but the day she collected her very own pokemon. Though they have had pokemon as pets around the house, this would be her very own pokemon to take out on her new adventure she had been studying up on for two straight years now. Luckily she lived in town with its own poke-school, something not a lot of the smaller city's in johto had. This was the day she would say goodbye to her family and start her very own pokemon adventure, leaving her life up to this point behind.

"Well you better be, leaving me here to deal with your father all by myself."

She said with a small laugh as she approached her daughters bed sitting next to her, still trying to hide what she had.

"Speaking of your father, he gave me something he very much wanted you to have."

There was just a second of awkwardness, but it was truly sad to think about. Her father wasn't home all that much as he was one of big assistant scientist at the nearby pokemon research labs. He helps design all lot of the pokemon tech used by everyone around the world, always trying to create new designs for pokedex's and pokeballs alike. And now he couldn't be here to say goodbye, it wasn't like she couldn't stop by his research facility but just the fact he couldn't even call in to be home for this was saddening on its own. It wasn't as if he was a bad father by any means, just not there as much as she wished he could be. Her mother than brought a tan satchel from behind her back.

"He said he made it just for you."

She handed it over to her and she quickly noticed just how heavy the item was. Unbuttoning the satchel she realized what was inside, it was a custom pokedex. It looked just like a tablet but specially built to scan and index all the pokemon she runs into along her journey. It was perfect, it was black with grey pokemon symbol on the back surrounding a giant camera with four small led lights around it for flash and a sort of flashlight if needed. The lens poked outward giving it some extra thickness, the satchel itself was specifically made to fit around belt loops and a second strap to go around her thigh. She hugged it against her body and bounced up and down in joy.

"Oh, my, god. It's perfect. I, I can't believe he made this just for me. Ehhhhhhh."

"Well get ready hun and you can go thank him yourself after you pick up your very first pokemon from the nearby poke-farm. Lan, told me he already had a few pokemon picked out for you too choose."

She said giving her daughter a hug, holding her close.

"Okay, I will get ready right now."

With that her mother exited the room as Alix, sat her tablet on the bed to go get cleaned up. She was so excited she almost forgot to take her cloths off in the shower. She had never been this excited her entire life, singing songs in the shower more joyfully than ever before. This day was going to be great, she was so curious of what pokemon she was going to have to choose from. Many trainers come through the town, telling stories of their first pokemon, she couldn't wait to finally choose her own. Now to finish getting ready and start what would be the beginning to the greatest adventure she could ever wish for.

With the cleaning of her body and the brushing of her teeth it was time to pack. Seeing as she knew she was going to have some money on her and the towns not being to far apart from one another she didn't have to pack her life. However she did understand that there wouldn't always be a place to stay. Cloth's would be the biggest issue of how much to pack because of the fact that not everyone is going to wash your cloths for you and the opportunity for doing it yourself isn't always going to be there. It didn't help she wasn't use to wearing the same cloths days on end and even going a day without showering, something she was going to have to get use to really fast.

"Guess I don't have very many options. This sucks."

She said out loud to herself as she started digging through her cloths. Finally grabbing mainly t-shirts and just two pair of jeans, throwing on one of each. Grabbing her favorite grey t-shirt with a white pokemon symbol in the middle of it. She also grabbed a few miscellaneous items like toothpaste, toothbrush, and items of the like and put them into her backpack. Now finally dressed she put the backpack on and strapped the pouch for the tablet around her left leg and headed downstairs.

"Hey mom, I am all packed and ready to go."

She said as she sat down her backpack by the front door going up to hug her mother.

"You double checked everything right?"

Her mother said before hugging her.

"Of course mother, I checked more times than I probably should have. I'm going to miss you sooooo, much."

She squeezed her mother tightly not wanting to say goodbye.

"I'm going to miss you too." She said hugging her tightly. "Well I made you something for your trip, here."

She went into there decent sized kitchen to grab what seemed to be a good sized wrap. As she brought it over she could tell that it was a breakfast wrap. Filled with egg, hash-browns, re-fried beans, and a few more delicious toppings. Handing it over Alix gave a large smile. Finally they made their final goodbye's and she headed out the door toward the pokemon farm.

It would take about :45 minutes to arrive there as they lived a little outside from town. Luckily there was no tall grass for pokemon to jump out from as there was a path into town. She now was at the beginning of her new adventure, sort of. She had lived in this city her entire life and had knew many people and even Falkner himself somewhat. He was a very busy man though. It wouldn't be too much longer and she would arrive at Dan's Poke-farm. She was so excited she started to skip as she only had another 10 minutes to go. It was literally just a matter of time now.

Despite the fact that Autumn had just rolled in, the air was warmer than it was crisp, few clouds even attempting to block out the sun on this fine morning. The road was wide, lush foliage and long grass growing high and healthy either side of the winding and uneven dirt tracks. Tyre and hoof prints suggested that both Pokemon and people ventured this way, although perhaps not too often.

The trail broadened and broadened until it was close enough to clear, the rolling expanses of Dan's Poke Farm in full view for Alixandra to see. Crops of berry plants and trees edged around the fields, inside which a huge variety of Pokemon could be seen. Miltank, Mareep, Zebristika and Ponyta families all grazed together, Bonsly and Sudowoodo stock still in the shade as if trying to imitate their stationary lookalikes. Bird Pokemon nestled undisturbed on branches from which bug Pokemon hung - Pineco unafraid and threatening to explode. There were buildings, too, dotted around in the centre by the main entrance to the Farm. Despite them looking like ordinary wooden structures, they were high security. Pokemon eggs of all sizes and designs were incubated there, as well as the food products that Dan and his small team lived on and sold to big chains and smaller markets.

It was a beautiful sight to behold, and a lovely rural escape from the urban hustle and bustle. Awake from the moment that the Pidgeys cawed, Dan was indoors, ready for any visitor who might come knocking.

It only took a few more minutes for her to arrive to Dan's poke-farm. The wonderful sights and sounds encumbered along side the autumn colors made this place one of the most beautiful places to visit if in the Violet City area. Though almost every town had one of one size or another, this was one of the largest in all of Johto. This place was something special for everyone here in town, especially aspiring pokemon trainers and even pokemon breeders. Even the regular citizens loved to come here for visitations and even taking one's home for themselves.

Before she entered the building's main door she stepped around the back too take a look over the fence to see all the Pokemon playing. Looking over the fence she saw the large grouping of kinds of pokemon in all different level's of their evolutions. There were some of the earliest found pokemon from Charmander to some of the latest discovered such as Spritzee. It was a glorious site to be seen and she wondered what pokemon Dan was going to make her choose between. There was always a ritual to choosing your very first pokemon, you had to choose between three different pokemon, it was always different for every person who came to gain their very first. This was her's and there was no more time to be wasted.

Quickly she picked up her backpack and ran back around front, pausing infront of the door she thought about what adventure would now be coming her way. A large smile crept its way across her cheeks as she pushed open the door seeing Dan already awaiting an arrival at the main entrance.

"Hey Dan!"

She said excitedly as she waved over to him.

"I'm here, I can't tell you how excited I am for this."

She looked around the room trying to see the pokemon she was going to be choosing between.

"So where are they?"

She said with a happy but confused look on her face, her patience slightly thin because of how excited she was. This day was going to be one she would probably remember for the rest of her life. She couldn't wait to tell her father when she got to New Bark town.

Dan was taken by surprise when the door was burst open, the arrival unannounced. He heard the young girl's voice, entering to the counter from the back. "Oh, hi!" He greeted with a rumbling laugh, shaking his head as he lifted up part of the desk for her to come through, "I'm not going to just leave them out in the open for anyone to take, silly. I grew up in a world troubled by Team Rocket, you know! Come through here." He said, washing his hands from an antisceptic spray and cloth once his gloves had been removed and temporarily discarded on the side.

He was a tall, broad-shouldered man. Any impression of fat - and there was some - was instead muscle. There was sweat on faint brows and the shadow of creases to the farmer's face: an allusion to his future once he finally passed the ages of thirty-eight, forty and beyond. All clothing was creased and a tad scruffy, but could be a lot worse: rolled up tartan sleeves, the collar neat and buttons all done, overlaying belted, baggy jeans and old, but trendy black wellington boots. Dan's nails were short but not unclean, and his raven hair was, too. It was hidden beneath a cap.

Taking her through to one of the rooms in the back, there were stacks of Poke Balls in locked, transparent cases. Not all of the Poke Balls were the standard model. There were plenty of Apriballs and Premier Balls, and a few others here and there. On the table, not far from a healing machine and other general computer equipment, three basic spheres resided. Through the red and white translucent shells, Alixandra would be able to see three very different creatures.

"Togepi, the spike ball Pokemon," Dan said of the first, a little male; "Honedge, the sword Pokemon," And then, finally, to a little female with a gothic lolita image, "Gothita, the fixation Pokemon." He gestured to each one patiently with a great but calloused hand. "These are the three Pokemon you get to choose from. Togepi, from Johto; Honedge from Kalos and Gothita from Unova. They're all unusual choices, I think, but each of them will serve yer well and in their own way. Yer don't hafta choose right now, yer can take yer time n' tell me when yer ready." Wearing a sunny smile, Dan folded his arms and waited. Alixandra was as impatient as many of her predecessors, but he wondered just how quickly she would make this important decision.
