The girl is of an average stature, and stands out amongst her peers due to her excessively long flaxen locks and piercing amber gaze. Her hair, though generally pulled back in a loose braid, cascades past her shoulders and eventually comes to rest just below her waist. While pale overall, Hood's skin might be considered 'splotchy' in certain areas– most often a result of sunburn, bruising, or anything of the like. She is most often seen in clothes of formfitting material: they're the most efficient for someone who is always on the move.

Hood is a soft spoken sort, hardly ever saying more than what really needs to be said. She is gentle and loving in her own way, and more often than not fills in the role of a silent protector. Or a guardian, if you will. That is not, however, to say that she doesn't have a childish side to her. (Perhaps adventurous would be a more accurate term.) The blonde has always loved the outdoors, probably because of her innate ability to fly.

For this very same reason, she's also a bit of a loner – too intimidated to put herself forward and make an attempt at integrating herself into society. After all, she's different.

And being different means that there's a greater chance at being rejected, doesn't it? While not exactly fragile in any way, there's just no point in risking rejection. Not when she already has non-human friends. Things are easier with pokèmon anyway. And besides, the wilderness is far more tranquil than the city, and this blonde would take the sound of running water and sight of falling leaves over that of traffic and light pollution any day of the week.

Hood utilizes the playing field to its fullest potential, maximizing her and her team's advantage before instigating the battle itself. (For example, maintaining higher ground against a fighting type so that they have more difficulty in closing in, or evaporating small bodies of water so that her opponent's Goldeen can only flop about helplessly.)

If the initial field doesn't provide any natural advantages, then she will simply create her own. Stuck in a small cave with several opponents? Use a Smokescreen and follow through with an accuracy booster, such as Lock-On. Following the initial procedure, the flier prefers the “hit and run” approach, gradually wearing her opponent(s) down until they either lose the will to continue fighting, or are simply incapable of doing so. She is never one to run headfirst into a battle.

Being able to fly above and get a better idea of the field's layout also helps.

An unusual girl with the usual childhood.

Mother: Rowena Briar
Father: Damien Briar (Deceased)
Siblings: None

The youngest Briar was actually– believe it or not– an incredibly difficult child. Constantly knocking things over (accidentally, mind you) or screaming bloody murder because of a scraped knee or a twisted ankle, Eleyna wasn't the little angel that she always appeared to be. Well, maybe she was. A clumsy, forgetful little angel. And when she finally realised that she could fly? Arceus almighty, her mother nearly had a heart attack when she heard a cry and ran outside, only to find her three-something-year-old daughter crouched on the roof, wailing her lungs out.

Naturally, she got a hang of things. Became less and less clumsy as time went by, partly due to the maturing process, and also partly because of her mother's insistence that she take the time to practice her technique, rather than just “fly everywhere all willy-nilly!” Seriously. That's what her mom said. And the young Eleyna (about twelve or so) replied with a crooked grin and a winked, ensuring the woman that, while her safety was not 100% guaranteed... She would make a conscious effort to not fly headfirst into a block of concrete and crack her skull open.

And that was good enough for her.

Years passed and Eleyna had finally mastered the ability to control her element, bounding from tree to tree in Ilex Forest, the woods that surrounded her hometown of Azalea. Things were (and are) peaceful there: comfortably quiet, excluding the occasional event of some travelers passing through. It was on one such quiet day that she met Tato.

Now this wasn't a particularly unusual event. Ilex Forest has just as many peaceful pokèmon as it does aggressive, and having spent much of her free time over the past few years in the forest, Eleyna has met plenty of such creatures. But this time, it was a little bit different. A Venonat, full grown but still young, approached her with nothing but a look of subtle curiosity. And mild hunger. That was the important part: the hunger.

The then fifteen year old girl needed only to offer the fuzzy purple thing something to eat– and one of the granola bars she kept in her bag sufficed. Note that it was not her intention at all to bring a pompom of a bug home with her that day; rather, he chose to follow her. Hoping for more food, most likely, considering he devoured half a bag of raw potatoes upon their return... Fatty.

Thus, Tato became a part of the family, and his arrival would mark the final turning point.

Now, Eleyna (dubbed “Hood” by some of the other villagers, because of the hair that covers her face much like a hood would,) never got any formal schooling in regards to pokèmon training. And, if asked, she certainly wouldn't say that she very much enjoys the idea of pitting the creatures against one another for no reason other than sport. But she did like the idea of traveling with her friend (and perhaps meeting new friends along the way.)

So, after a few more years of saving up enough money to buy the necessary gear (and taking a few classes on “pokèmon care,”) Hood finally leaves Azalea Town, Tato trailing behind her.

Sorry, but disapproving this. Classes are changing and elementalists are no longer going to be part of the site or allowed, so the trainer class is going to need to change.
