Alex wasn't going to let Molly's words get to her right now, though the compliment felt nice. She had to stay level headed for now, a swollen ego was hardly ever good for that. She had the pokéball readied in her hand, awaiting a good moment to hurl it. However, what happened next was highly unsuspecting.

The discharge was let loose, rattling through the room. "Cyndaquil, jump!" Alex cried out, shoving Molly out of the doorway as she jumped back herself. The tot like started leaped, the static from the move clinging to him as it passed underneath. It was a narrow dodge.

Rushing back in, Alex saw the Pokémon zipping about to make a run for it. "No! Pokéball, go!" she cried, hurling the red and white orb as quickly as possible. To her dismay it was too late, the ball falling to the floor with an empty click. She grit her teeth, hissing as Molly cried too. Rotom had already knocked out the backup generators back here, she couldn't afford him to catch a second power boost.

"Quick Cyndaquil, after it! Use Aerial Ace to cut it off, then hit it with Extrasensory!" Alex called out, trying to act as swiftly as possible. She quickly scooped up the empty pokéball, ready to get a better shot at Rotom next time. She hoped there would be a next time, anyway, the hospital was relying on them!

"Right!" Cyndaquil chimed, flames igniting as he quickly rushed forward. The white streaks encompassed the fire type, allowing him to fly through the air as he leaped. He tried cutting off the Rotom from getting too far, eyes glowing as he rushed through the air. He opened his mouth, the aura like beam being expelled at the foe.

Alex chased after them, probably with more ease than Molly with her high heels. Alex's attire was a little more appropriate for adventuring, after all. Still, she ran her finger over the white button to expand the ball once more. She held it in her fist, waiting to see if the strategy worked. If so, she would have her shot. This time, she wouldn't let it get away.

Molly was obviously not far behind, the sounds of her heels announcing her presence wherever she went. Rotom, up ahead, wasn't having any of their attempts to stop it. It fired another discharge of electricity at the extrasensory, the attacks colliding and exploding in smoke and a blast of energy between the two. Rotom rushed Cyndaquil while it had the chance with a thunder wave, crackling menacingly as it continued its escape.

Alex hissed as her plan quickly fell through. She again tried to hurl the ball as a last second fail safe, missing once more. "Son of a-" she growled, quickly picking it up again. This Rotom was quickly turning into more of a pain in the ass than Alex wanted to deal with. She had to figure out some strategy to trap him, and quick!

A fleeting thought of using Chikorita came to her, quickly pushed away again. Chikorita was an unreliable asshole, who would probably just cause her more grief. Cyndaquil had managed to dodge the Thunder Wave thanks to Rotom's affected accuracy, but was starting to sweat from the stress of it all. Odds were he would be more than unable to dodge the next one on his own.

"After it!" Alex called, pointing in the direction the little wisp zipped off. It wasn't hard to follow the sound and electrical trail, though catching up was proving to be an issue. "Damn. Cyndaquil, use Ember, try to turn it back!" Alex ordered her partner as they ran through the halls.

Her little partner squeaked in turn, blazing up as he took off down the hall fast as he could muster. When he had Rotom in sight, he tried shooting embers just before it to halt its progress. Naturally, he avoided setting any Pokémon or expensive equipment on fire, but the floor tiles could be replaced. Hastily, he again shot an Extrasensory attack at the foe, just as Alex rounded the corner.

"Pokéball go!" she threw the ball, not waiting any longer this time. Rotom was too quick to give the opportunity to flee again. As soon as it was in her sights, the orb was leaving her hands. She hoped her training classes would pay off, and that her aim would be on.

Rotom was just as annoyed that the Cyndaquil seemed to be so lucky, but at the same time, the battle didn't matter as long as it got what it wanted. The Pokemon continued to rush until the creature cut it off, and the ghost turned, flying off another discharge. It tore through the extrasensory and struck Cyndaquil right on the belly, other lines of fierce yellow bouncing off the wall and ceiling, glass breaking from fire boxes and bulbs, raining onto the floor. Molly cried out, ducking and safeguarding herself with raised arms.

However, in that moment, the ball got Rotom just as it was about to flee once more, satisfied that its point had been made. This mission felt almost a waste with so much energy burned out on fighting off pursuers. The sphere hit the floor and rocked thrice left and right. It seemed almost like Rotom might escape with the force of its motions, but then, there was the click. Alex captured a Rotom!

Cyndaquil cried out as the electricity struck him. It was painful, draining him and paralyzing. Deep down he'd known he wouldn't be able to avoid it, but that didn't lessen the pain for him. He panted, slowly getting back to his feet. The battle had taken a toll on him, and Rotom was about to get away again! He felt defeated...

That is, until the ball struck the foe, absorbing it. Alex raised her arms, covering her face as the wave of electricity rolled through the corridor and dropping to a squat. It was best to make herself small as possible, and shockingly quite a natural reaction. Even she looked a little scuffed, catching tail ends of electric waves lapping at her exposed arms and legs.

She turned her head up in time to see the ball fall to the floor. Her heart jumped into her throat anxiously. Her hands quickly lowered to the floor as she leaned forward, eyes wide. The ball rocked viciously, Rotom still putting up a massive fight. Her body tingled nervously, doubt racking her mind that this would work. Rotom would surely break free, and wreak havoc on the Center. She would be helpless.

When the ball came to rest, Alex and her Pokémon both collapsed with a sigh of relief. Laying on the cool floor for a minute, she watched as the last of the embers of earlier fizzled out. She reached out to Cyndaquil, placing a hand gently on his head. She felt utterly drained, and just knew her partner must feel so much worse.

"We did it, Cyndaquil...you were great," the young adult said weakly. Cyndaquil cooed, closing his eyes softly as he let himself drift off. He was exhausted, and with good reason. Two draining battles like this, it had been a long day. Alex pressed her hands against the floor, lifting herself up. She brushed some debris from her arms and knees, then returned Cyndaquil to his capsule.

"Have a good rest, you deserve it," Alex said, returning the orb to her belt once minimized. She staggered over to the resting ball, squatting to pick it up and examine the creature within. She could see Rotom through its translucent shell, still electrified and lively though it'd taken some good hits.

Standing again, Alex glanced back to Molly. She held up the ball with a weak smile. "I know we kind of made a mess of things, but...I got it, heh..." she tried to joke, though the situation wasn't much for a laughing matter. She knew that too, but was just so tired from everything.

"This mess is better than what would've happened if the rotom had gotten its way," Molly spoke to Alex, wrapping her arms lightly staring at the woman whom she had partnered with. "You catching it is better than it being left in the wild." She tilted her head to the side a bit, smiling lightly at the trainer. "Anyway, the day is saved! Now we can get some rest!" The girl turned away from Alex. "I'm gonna go get a room. Who knows, maybe they'll give us both luxury rooms for solving the problem!" Her optimism showed again as she began to walk back towards the path they had come from.

The people of the pokemon center seemed to not be in much disarray. In fact, most were not present; only the nurse, her pokemon, and a couple of others were still standing in the large room. While the nurse operated on getting the recovery machine to work, her pokemon helped the couple of others with sweeping away the remains of a few bursted bulbs. There was a small box of bulbs laying around for their replacement.

It was a bit of an arduous task, but Alex insisted on helping to clean up some. It was difficult enough explaining everything to the Nurse and Police when prompted, but thanks to Molly being able to provide an alibi, everyone finally came to mutual understanding. It was a long night for Alex and her Pokémon, after what had been a long first day. Still, she had managed to capture not one but two Pokémon! Not to mention making friends with Corsola, and possibly even a beneficial acquaintanceship with Molly. Not a bad day at all in the end.

She sluggishly entered her room, Rotom and Cyndaquil healing up thanks to the back up machines in the other room. Alex felt terrible for not being able to let him sleep in the bed like she promised, but the medicines were more needed now. She shrugged out of her clothes and into a loose fitting over sized T-shirt and undergarments for bed. Crawling into the covers, she curled up and quickly crashed, already well past 11 in the night nearing midnight.

Alex slept in well to late morning, finally waking when the sun was high enough to penetrate the thinly veiled blinds to the window of her room. She groaned, lifting the blanket over her eyes for a few moments. She muttered nonsensical excuses to not get out of bed, still in her dream like state. However, a silent moment passed and Alex slowly pulled the blanket down, peering out and around the strange room.

She shot up in momentary panic, experiencing a head rush as she realized what was going on. She collapsed again, groaning once more as she wrapped an arm over her eyes to shield from the light. "That's right...I'm in Cherrygrove Pokémon Center..." she trailed off. It was a task in itself to get herself out of bed, but eventually she managed to.

After a quick shower, she threw on the clothes she had worn the night before. She'd only worn them for a few hours, having changed just before the Rotom incident, so they weren't too dirty. Braiding her hair again to the side, she gathered her things and left to the main lobby. She glanced about, peeking down the hall to the ICU as the door swung open and shut. It seemed they had cleaned up most of the mess, at least.

Approaching the front desk, Alex summoned the nurse over. "I'm sorry again about last night's mess. Are my Pokémon better?" she received her Pokémon back, clipping the minimized capsules to her belt. Three pokéballs now adorned the slots, leaving three still empty for future team mates. Through the translucent shells they could be seen. Cyndaquil in the lead slot, then the snooty shiny Chikorita, and finally the newest mischievous member, Rotom.

Meekly, Alex headed back to the food court for a free breakfast. She wondered lightly if she would see Molly again, but didn't really care much either way. She made sure to quickly finish her meal, avoiding anyone who might recognize her from the night before as well as keep Cyndaquil from shooting off his mouth.

With full bellies, she headed back outside to the coast line. The breeze blew inland, Alex closing her eyes and letting the scent of the sea wash over her. She truly loved it, and would come back some day. She wanted to save up for a ferry to Alto Mare, or at least get a Pokémon who could surf to head out there. Meanwhile, she had promised Corsola she would return to see her again today. She wasn't about to break that before leaving en route for Violet City.

Molly wouldn't be anywhere to be found. She had figured that after 'helping' Alex in regards to the Rotom that she would be able to just leave; after all, it wasn't like the two were permanent friends or anything. She had woken up quite a bit before Alex, and she had started packing what she had with her planning to leave before any buzz started going about. Her hopes had been diminished when she was forced to provide an alibi, and shortly afterwards she was out the center and off towards whatever she had planned.

The corsola was waiting for Alex; she had been waiting for a couple of hours. It had to duck under the water a few times when a trainer passed by, having a deep-founded desire to not be captured by anyone while it waited. The pokemon had just grown a bit tired from waiting, diving into the water to look around the underwater scenery while waiting for the trainer further.

Alex was excited to meet with her pink coral friend again, in addition to being able to introduce her partner. Cyndaquil had been in recovery during their play yesterday, and so Alex was unable to introduce the two. However, she had told the Corsola about him and their encounter with the troublesome Chikorita during their time together.

Approaching the water's edge, the young woman shifted her pack from her shoulder, letting it slink to a shady patch of grass. She felt giddy inside, her team belt beginning to fill up like a true Pokémon Trainer and befriending wild Pokémon! It was all so exhilarating to her! She quickly kicked off her red flowered sandals, pulling off her shirt to reveal a black and white bikini underneath.

After a moment of fiddling with her belongings, Alex looked like a true blue Swimmer girl. Well, girl was quite the understatement. There was nothing girlish about her curves, quite the womanly body once revealed. She had her trainer's belt latched around her waist, making sure her Pokémon were securely fastened to her before hiding her pack back in the bush she had yesterday.

She went back to her diving spot, hoping to find the Corsola. She hoped some trainer hadn't happened by and captured her in the time she'd been gone, but highly doubted it. With her hair braided to the side to prevent it tangling in the water and getting in her face, Alex stood looking down into the clear blue waters.

"Corsola! Hey Corsola, I'm back like I promised! I brought my Pokémon with me this time, too!" Alex chimed excitedly. She hoped it would summon the critter up, but wasn't about to just wait around either. The Pokémon in the area had gotten used to her presence yesterday, and even the Tentacruel seemed alright with her, one having nearly saved her.

In a swift and agile motion, Alex dove into the waters, an oxygen converter with a fresh capsule locked between her teeth. Bubbles rose from her point of entrance, and as she had the day prior, Alex was bewildered by the beauty under the sea. The light filtered in from above, the ever changing currents making it dance along the coral reef as Alex swam down to look for her pink friend. It shouldn't be too hard to discern her, Alex decided, since she was larger than most in the area.

As soon as Corsola heard Alex's voice, she had immediately bobbed to the surface. "Corsola!" It cried. Apparently, Alex was faster, and dove in before she surfaced. She only saw the splash of Alex's feet before she was under. They passed each other. The Corsola dove once more after Alex. She swam a little more slowly to watch what Alex was doing.
The Tentacool seemed to remember Alex, droning their calls with a bit more vigor.
Remembering the last time when Alex was struggling, she decided it be better for her to know she was there. The Corsola used its bubble, which would only be a small tickle at Alex's feet. "Corsola~!" it coed.

Alex had managed to dive over Corsola just in time to miss the encounter. However, she was still glad to see the other Pokémon down there. She waved to the Tentacruel, smiling best she could through her eyes since her mouth was full of the breathing apparatus. She swam down a bit further, greeting the Clampearl once more, a couple clamping shut at the sudden sight of a human, but others still relaxed from prior experiences with the human.

When Corsola decided to let her presence be known, it was a bit startling. The bubbles fizzled around, rolling across Alex's skin lightly and sending a light sensation through. She flinched as she tried not to laugh, bubbles of air escaping from around her mouth in a flurry. They rose, dispersing and fading as they reached the surface to pop.

Spinning around under the water in a fluid motion, Alex's hair followed in graceful slow motion. She spotted Corsola, the source of the playful bubbles and smiled. She bit down, taking a good breath as she adjusted her trajectory and began swimming toward the coral Pokémon. She might be accident prone and less than graceful on land, but you could hardly tell with how comfortable she was cutting through the water. She was like the 'mermaids' of Cerulean with the way she moved!

Upon reaching her friend, she gave the Pokémon a good scratch down on the Pokémon's rough skin. After a few moments, she motioned with a finger to the surface, before she bag swimming up to break it herself. She swam to the shore, spitting the apparatus from her mouth and hoisting herself to sit on the cool grass. Her feet remained dipped in the water as she wiped the dripping water from her face.

"Hey Corsola," Alex greeted, finally able to talk now that she wasn't submerged. "See, I told you I'd come back," she said with a smile. Light glinted off the wet and polished surfaces of the pokéballs 'round her waist. They caught her vision, and she glanced down to them.

"Oh right, my Pokémon are alright now!" Alex announced with a smile. "I caught another Pokémon last night, too. A Rotom attacked the Pokémon Center, and I captured it!" Alex went on to tell the story of her heroics in the Pokémon Center. Though she didn't really see them as all too heroic, it was very true that if she hadn't stopped the Rotom then many Pokémon may have perished due to not receiving very vital and needed care.

The large Corsola bobbed to the surface eagerly after her human friend. "Corsola!" It greeted once again, this time not only to her feet. She listened eagerly to Alex's story. The interest was very apparent, and, if Corsola gasp, this one certainly did many times. "Cor!" it would scream at the more tense moments of her story.

Going on, Alex introduced Cyndaquil to Corsola by releasing him on shore. The friendly fire shrew seemed to get along famously, his perky outlook going over well. Alex stuck around for another hour or so, swimming around and playing with Corsola as she had promised. Cyndaquil seemed content sitting alongside the shore, wishing to not get wet. Pretty understandable for a fire type, in al, honesty. However, the time was soon upon them to take their leave. Alex said her goodbyes, drying off best she could and getting her clothes back on before taking her leave.

She paused at the edge of Cherrygrove City, glancing back once more. She had spent her childhood in the quaint village, and now she had more reasons to return. Some day she would come back and visit Corsola again. She hoped to have a Pokémon large enough to ferry her across the water by then, so that she might visit Alto Mare.

For now though, she had a journey to continue. She smiled, letting out a soft and contented sigh before turning back to the route she faced ahead of her. Many more ledges and patches of tall grass riddled the route, alongside various trainers who would want to battle. Clenching her fist around her pack's strap in a determined fashion, the young woman set forward with some pep in her step!
