The Golden Brick Road (Miles and Enzo's journey) (Private)

Enzo slowly paced into the city taking in all the new and foreign sights and smells before proceeding on towards the centre of the city where he was sure he'd be able to gather his bearings and make his plans for what exactly he had to do to prepare. Corphish meanwhile was riding shotgun on Enzo's shoulder as he usually did because, the two were extraordinarily close and it was a common respect they shared. Corphish worked with Enzo and in exchange they shared good times to together and offered mutual protection. Enzo first said "We made it buddy took us long enough but we made it and now we have to complete the first step of our journey bringing honor to our family name"

When he finally managed to reach the centre of the city he removed his pokegear from his pocket which he'd received from his father and booted up the map function to work out where everything was and where he had to go prior to the gym battle which was planning on partaking in as soon as a number of task were completed such as, having a check up at the pokemon center to ensure his pokemon were in top condition and safe to battle, wrote to his father to let him know that he'd made it to Pewter City safely and was going to take on the first gym in his journey and had a good nights sleep to ensure he was mentally ready.

He then noticed that the Pokemon Center was only a few streets away which was great cause, he could cover all three bases in that one place easily and it would even allow him some spare downtime which he didn't get much of but, cherished either way. He then said to Corphish "Ready buddy? We gonna get you guys checked out and then get some training done maybe before we take the Pewter City gym" Corphish replied "Corr... Phish" agreeing with Enzo's thought trail and Enzo knowing that as their connection was bordering on telepathic and they were always able to know exactly what the other meant.

After about a 10 minute walk they arrived at the Pokemon Center and strolled inside taking in the hustle and bustle of a trainer's life before, making his way confidently towards the desk towering over the other trainers that were around him despite his age. Enzo asked "Excuse me" talking to someone working behind the desk who clearly wasn't Nurse Joy as it was a male and he came to the conclusion it was probably a temp worker he continued "Is Nurse Joy around by any chance? Cause I just need my pokemon to get a check up ready for my gym battle tomorrow" this was probably a common request or maybe not as, not everyone cares for their pokemon to the same extent Enzo did. Corphish looked around as, Enzo dealt with the formalities finding out what he can whilst just people watching which was an activity he fairly enjoyed as it can broaden the horizons between Pokemon and Trainer communications and help to better understand each other.

Lucia released her pokemon, Hielo and Fuego from their Premier Pokeballs, upon touching foot into Pewter City. The trio had been traveling for a bit before Lucia had lost a few of her possessions and had to stop at the closest area with a pokemon center. Luckily for her Pewter City was close to where she was when she lost the items in the first place. "I can't believe I've lost our things. I don't want to do this, but I have to go to mother and father for some new items." Looking down at her two pokemon she smiled at them watching as Hielo floated close to her and Fuego hopped in front of them both. Lucia was very familiar with Pewter city as her parents would travel there frequently to check up on their shops with her in tow. Without a wasted second her feet carried her to the pokemon center, a nostalgic feeling entering her as she made her way over to the phone area.

She didn't look at anyone as she glided across the room her Litwick and Froslass following closely to her. Her long vibrant Orange hair flowed behind her as it was let down from it's usual long braid, leaving it in light waves. Her steps her precise as she moved gracefully over to the phone area of the pokemon center. Her crystal blue eyes scanned over the phone booths and went towards one of them, quickly dialing her fathers number first, seeing as he was easier to get things from without an explanation. The phone only had to ring twice before she saw her father's face on the screen in front of her. " Hello Father... I need a few items do you think I can have them shipped here quickly?" Lucia's voice was commanding though held the sweetness that only a daughter could give to her father. " Of course Sweetheart, what can your old man get ya?" That was her dear old dad, no other questions asked. A sigh of relief almost slipped from her lips as she began to give the list of items. "" I will need an updated version of the pokedex, a pokegear, and um well that's actually all I need. I'm sorry if I am being a burden father. She really didn't need much because she still had her pokeballs with her. " Now listen here Kid, you aren't a burden not even in the slightest. I'll have james at the Pewter branch send you your things so sit tight. I will let your mother know you called, she's been worried sick about you. Call us more ok hun?" His voice was rough but carefree as he spoke, it was true she didn't call as much as she should have been. " Of course father. Tell mom I love her, I'll call more often. Thank you, I love you daddy, Bye now."

Quickly hanging up she smiled to herself, she knew if she had stayed any longer with calling him that he wouldn't have let it down. "Don't worry guys, we will be back on the road soon for now lets just wait here for the items and we can go eat before leaving." Hielo nodded as usual staying quiet and Fuego happily hopped " Wick! " tripping clumsily the little Litwick quickly got up and hooped over to Hielo. Lucia chuckled at the cute act and moved over some seats, waiting quietly for the delivery. Her hands smoothing out the grass green dress she wore that hugged her body appropriately without being too much nor to less. Placing her white shoulder bag to the left of her, gazing around the room at the people in the Pokémon center.

The temp smiled in reply to Enzo's question "Sure she should be around here somewhere one second" he then pressed a button and spoke into a microphone "Can Nurse Joy please come to the main reception desk? That's Nurse Joy to the Main Reception thank you" Enzo returned the favour smiling "Thanks for that" he replied. She soon arrived after around 2 minutes and asked "So, then what can I do for you young man" to which Enzo answered "Well I was just wondering if you could give my team a check up for me as I have a gym battle tomorrow and want to make sure they're in top condition for it" Nurse Joy beamed a smile to him pleased to hear such a responsible trainer "I'd be happy to" Enzo nodded unclipping the pokeball's from his belt and placing the 3 into slots on a tray he then looked to his shoulder and said "Corphish you too" Corphish simply climbing onto the tray instead of going in his pokeball as many pokemon do; Nurse Joy and her Chansey carrying the tray off to the check up rooms in the back of the pokemon center "She'll be about 20 minutes I think" the Temp informed and in response Enzo just said "That's fine with me as long as they're looked after" walking off towards a different room to find some pens and paper so, he could write his letter to his dad. Entering the same room as Lucia.

Enzo soon located a supply of pen and paper which was probably left there for that exact purpose he looked at the pen and frowned as a lot of them had little to no ink probably from prior use by other trainers who hadn't informed Nurse Joy of the little they'd left. Without worry though Enzo took his bag from his back and removed from it a small quill that was a traditional family heirloom and some ink undoing the lid and dipping the tip of the quill into it beginning to write out his letter.

After about 15 minutes he'd finished folding the paper so, it would fit into an envelope and placing it into one before stamping it with a traditional wax seal that carried the Acquarone family crest. He then posted it into a local postbox and took a look around for what he could to pass a few minutes before heading off to the side of the room that Lucia was on and going over to a monitor near her where he studied some footage he'd located of Brock's battles and some footage he himself had collected of his own battles so, that he could work on his strengths and weaknesses. Enzo always devoted a few minutes of his time to improving himself through the use of studying as he knew it could improve him not only as a trainer but, also as a partner to his pokemon and as a person. He wouldn't be one to simply accept praise for things like that though as he felt it was more his responsibility than anything else first and foremost.

After 5 minutes of study an announcement came through the PA System "Can Enzo please come to the main reception desk please? That's Enzo to the the main reception desk thank you" Enzo calmly closing the programs he was working on and stood up walking past Lucia he looked seeing her Litwick and Froslass and smiled pleased to see their connection even stopping for a second to say "Wow you're pokemon are clearly well raised be proud of that; what species are they?" making sure not to sound patronizing he then said "Oh yeah and the name's Enzo, Enzo Acquarone" he wasn't being conceited as though he assumed she'd want to know his name it was just his way, it was manners or at least that's what his father had taught him, he then held out a hand to be shook trying to be quick about the introductions as he knew he had to get to the front desk soon to collect his pokemon or Corphish would really give him hell that was just his way though they loved each other and were like family so, it was all in good taste.

A few moments into her gazing of the people in the room a rather tall young male stopped in front of her, causing her to shift her crystal blue eyes upwards at him. "Wow you're pokemon are clearly well raised be proud of that; what species are they?"Oh yeah and the name's Enzo, Enzo Acquarone" It was rare for anyone to approach her, let alone a male. " Thank you for saying so, This here is a Litwick and Froslass, dual ghost type pokemon, Fire and Ice respectively. " She spoke coolly to the male, her overall body language stating she didn't care for his presence. It was nice to be praised about her pokemon but she didn't really care for the company of the stranger. Her response to him was curt and she was almost about to excuse herself in the most rude of manners until she heard her name being called out. " Lucia! LLUUUCCCIIII-CHAN!! "

A shudder went down her spine because she knew that voice from anywhere in the world. Standing up she found herself staring into the perfectly pink hues of Conny, a childhood friend, well more like a family friend since Lucia found her more annoying than pleasing to be around. " Conny, don't you have an respect for others? You can't just go yelling like that in a place like this, goodness. " Brushing past the male in front of her she quickly crossed the room over to the blond haired girl who was holding a package in her hand.I-I'm sorry Lucia, I'll be good, The store is swamped and James couldn't leave me there to do the work....Here you go, I have to get back. Oh goodness Lucia looked up and then quickly hugged Conny. She know the girl would play the guilt card with her and Lucia couldn't just let her walk out all sad...It just wouldn't be conny with that bouncy personality. Smiling she hurried the girl along and took a seat though not in the same place as before. Opening the box she pulled out a pokedex and a shiny pokegear. Smiling she admired the two, forgetting about the male that had spoken to her earlier.

Enzo however, was one of those people that was so friendly he didn't really read the body language he instead just smiled looking at the Litwick and Froslass before, saying "Alright then well I'll be off then, miss" and bowing as, it was just good manners, not knowing if the female had seen. Enzo then returned his stance and headed towards the front desk to collect his pokemon. Upon arrival he said to the Temp "Me again here to pick up the guys after their check up" the Temp looked at him and replied "Oh yes Nurse Joy was just here with them I'll see where she is now though" instead of using the P.A. System he used a walkie-talkie that he had speaking through it and asking "Nurse Joy where are you at the moment, the trainer from before is here to pick up his pokemon" Nurse Joy's voice soon coming back through it "Oh I see I'll be with you in a minute I just decided to go and take a look at another pokemon as well and brought them with me so that they weren't out in the open where they could be stolen or lost" the Temp grinned "Always thinking of others aren't you Nurse Joy" he replied and all that could be heard through the Walkie-Talkie then was a chuckle.

Soon Nurse Joy came down a corridor with Enzo's pokemon on the trolley, Corphish hopping down as, soon as he saw Enzo and scuttled over to him soon scaling Enzo to get back onto Enzo's left shoulder which was his usual position. Nurse Joy continued to walk with the trolley over to the front desk and once there she informed "Here we are and these are you pokemon all checked up and all are in perfect shape you clearly love and take care of them well" Enzo just nodded looking at Corphish "I do" he replied before taking the pokeball's from the trolley and clipping them onto his belt. He bowed to Nurse Joy and courteously spoke "Thank You Nurse Joy I wish you all the best fortune in the future and that your life is full and enjoyable" he then turned and calmly walked away.

Standing in the centre of the pokemon centre's lobby now he wondered what to do next before resting on an idea to go and see that female trainer again. He didn't know why but, there was something about her that interested him along with the fact that he'd seen her pokemon but, she hadn't seen his yet. Come to think of it he didn't even know her name yet he figured she must have just been too busy to have remember to give it and with that he headed back off to the room that the trainer had been in before proceeding to look around for her before, locating her sitting in a different place to before.

Enzo then approached her and said "Hello again new things I see" he indicated towards the Pokedex and Pokegear but, not in a nosy way. "Anyway" He continued "Mind if me and my team joins you?" he waited for a response before he would sit down hoping that his pokemon might in turn instigate a conversation just as hers once had.

Miles had had a hard night, sleeping in a small forest clearing. He had not been able to find his way back to the main part of the city the previous night. He was all tuckered out after tussling with a Cloyster. With some help from his pokemon, and a fisherman Miles had manged to capture such a strong Water type! With that he had wandered back into the main hub of Pewter City. Miles could definitely tell that his hair was a mess, as well as the he probably looked muddy. He had been thrown into the grass by the Cloyster, as well as doused by water creating a muddy mix. Walking the streets he had walked the previous night, his companion and friend seemed to be out cold, drooling on his shoulder. Miles sighed in disgust as his friends drool soaked through his shirt, and straight to his bare shoulder. Many of the female inhabitants of Pewter City smiles, waving and even cooing to the basically unconscious Charmander. Miles simply waved back, awkwardly laughing. Miles hated when he wasn't prepared for female attention.

After getting through the crowd of woman cooing over how "cute" Rosto was, he had finally reached the Pokecenter where he would be able to clean up, and get ready for Pewter City Gym. Entering he was noticeably busy, as usual but something seemed off. Miles got the feeling that maybe there was a reason he had come into the Pokecenter at the time he did. Looking to the left, it was just a few kids going on about how hi-tech they thought their Pokedex were. As soon as Miles turned his head right, he knew what feeling had struck him. Miles quickly walked past it, straight to the aid at the front desk. A small chat ensued about his hygiene and how he really shouldn't sleep outside. Miles said "okay" and "understood" the whole conversation, looking back, his heart beating. His stomach felt like it had a bowling ball in the pit of it. Miles had dreaded this day, trying to avoided it at all costs.Miles grabbed his pokemon after the small chat with the aid, and walked over to the boy and the girl sitting at ta table.

"H-Hi..Lucia." Miles sputtered out looking a little away while also giving her a smile to let her know that he was happy to see her.

"Funny seeing you here huh?" he said, oviously not knowing what to say and when to say it.

(As you asked so nicely Miles, here we go; now I ain't posting again til you both posted)

Enzo turned upon hearing a new voice directed towards Lucia he smiled "Ah so, that's the name I see" he then returned his view to Miles and held out his right hand strangely enough "The name's Enzo, Enzo Acquarone. Nice to meet you and this is my partner Corphish Acquarone" Corphish looking to Miles and smiling happily before waving with his large right claw calling "Corr.. phish" in a friendly manner which he'd been taught to though it wasn't really his sort of thing; waving. Enzo then noticed that Miles was a little bit grubby and asked "So, then what exactly happened to you?" completely forgetting that they'd just met it was just his friendly and inquisitive nature that caused him to get in conversations with people that he didn't know. Enzo looked around briefly and said to Lucia "Oh and sorry but, I gotta sit down I've been walking all day with limited stops from Vermilion" he sat down leaving a one seat gap between them to give her, her space and looked back to Miles.

Eventually he realized what he'd been doing in talking too much and was quick to apologize "Oh i'm so sorry. I've just realized you've just got here and clearly you know Lucia so, you're gonna wanna talk to her not me sorry go ahead I'll just give Corphish some food whilst you talk.. and if you want some pokemon food feel free to ask I got some of every type just in case I need it" He swung his bag round and opened it showing the two trainers the inside that had many different pockets in it each with medium sized food containers enough for 10 feeds from each. He proceeded on to get out Corphish's bowl along with Magby, Shieldon and Vanillite's and placed each onto the table filling them with food for his pokemon being sure that no one got left out, placing the lid back on the container; he un-clipped his three other pokemon's pokeballs and pressed the buttons to let them out onto the table before saying "Tuck in guys dinner's ready" he placed the now empty pokeball's back onto his belt and the food container back in his bag before relaxing and rejoining the conversation with the other two trainers without talking until they were done now.

"Hello again new things I see, Anyway, mind if me and my team joins you?"

Lucia's eyes had already met with the male before he could even speak. She didn't know why he wanted to be near her but before she could give her own response another voice spoke. H-Hi..Lucia, Funny seeing you here huh?" A smile played on her face as she stood up once again ignoring the male known as Enzo. " Miles! Still the shy one I see." Moving towards miles she hugged him tightly before stepping back and giving him a good look. She had agreed with Enzo one being a little dirty, but she was sure it was just from travel. " I've missed you so much you know. What are you doing out here? how is your father? Oh come we have to talk! " Pulling Miles down into the seat between her and enzo she smiled at Miles, her second time smiling so sweetly since she had been in the place. She didn't really have much to say to Enzo but she gave a look of acknowledgement before turning her eye back to Miles. One could tell that she enjoyed miles, giving him her full attention as she held his hand in hers, waiting for his next words. It really had been too long since the two had last seen each other and she just had to know what was going on.

Miles nodded, looking at the extended hand of the male sitting in front of Lucia. With a glance over he gave a light smile, before retracting his hand.

"I'm kinda muddy, as you see..." he noted before sitting down, Lucia taking his hand. Miles sighed with a little chuckle in the end. "it all happened last night. I went out with my bud Rosto here. I'm sure you remember him Lucia!" Miles laughed at the end, not even attempting to hide his amusement.

"While out with Rosto, we encountered a mysterious fisherman. Well, I say we but really, Rosto wandered off and discovered him. Long story short, he allowed me to use his fishing rod...and I caught a BIG guy. The guy was huge I tell you! This Cloyster man... I tell you. " Miles said, now in his comfort zone sitting next to Lucia. It wasn't that he was shy, he just didn't want to be burned or hurt, if she had not remembered him. What a fool he would look like if he walked up, and she had said "Who are you?"

Well with a smile, Miles realized that she was technically holding his hand. Taking a sec to look away within words, he smiled. He was making it hard to make eye contact with her.

Enzo scratched his head as, he listened to the conversation it was then that Corphish went up behind him and tapped him on his shoulder; upon turning around Enzo saw that all of his pokemon had finished and he smiled "Well glad to see you enjoyed it" he quickly moved to get up and began stacking and packing away their bowls. Once that was done he said "So, then it's getting kind of late and by that reckoning we should start getting ready to go to bed maybe the Center has a spare room?" Enzo then got up and called for his pokemon to follow looking to Miles and Lucia who seemed rather busy he bowed and said "It was a pleasure meeting you both, I hope our paths may cross again but, for now I should really be going to bed so, that I may be ready for my gym battle tomorrow. Good Night Miles, Good Night Lucia" He smiled at them both and turned walking from the large center's common room-like area and began making his way with his pokemon towards the front desk once more.

"Hello again" Enzo said to the Temp "I was wondering if you had any rooms free for me to spend the night?" the Temp backed up on his desk chair and span round opening a metal box on the pillar behind him and looking at the room key card slots eventually resting on room number #32 he removed the electronic key card and shut the box returning to Enzo where he said "Here we go you got room number 32 which is on the first floor of the living quarters have a good night" he then returned to his work as, Enzo replied "Thank you for all your help today" then making his way towards an elevator that would take him to the first floor of the center's living quarters once everyone was in he pressed the 1st floor button and stood in the elevator listening to the corny Elevator music and smiling the Pokemon Center had a nostalgic feel to it when you started to head more towards the living quarters probably to make you feel cozy and at home there.

The elevator then stopped and the doors crept open allowing Enzo to get out and begin the search for his room starting to walk left he looked around glancing at the doors and nodding to a number of other trainers that he saw when searching after a brief 2 minute stroll he located in on the right side of the corridor and after slotting his key card into the handle the door slowly opened, Enzo took the key card once more and said "In we go guys" all his pokemon making their way into the medium sized but, spacious room. Enzo put the key card in the meter and the lights all came on one by one. He looked around and noticed there was two doors in the room which was a kitchen/lounge area and he figured one would lead to the bedroom and the other to the bathroom. Slowly he walked through the room past his pokemon and opened the furthest door which revealed another medium sized room that had a large 7ft double bed in it luckily due to Enzo being a sort of giant and he placed his bag down in a corner getting change into a pair of night shorts and removing his shirt as he slept topless. Turning off the main room's lights he climbed into his bed and pulled the covers over him telling his pokemon "Right you guys can sleep at the foot of the bed if you want ok" his team all climbing up and settling down ready for bed Corphish responding "Corr.. Phish" Enzo pressed a switch behind his headboard and the lights went off in the bedroom Enzo smiling "Night guys" he quietly but, happily said, slowly drifting off to sleep comfortably.

After finishing up catching up with Lamb, she had to leave and handle a few things a few cities away. Miles sighed as he lifted his arm up to smell under it. Smelled fine, just sweaty. That's disgusting.

"God... I have a problem." Miles laughed to himself, as he realized no one was at the table anymore. Where had that Enzo gone? I mean, just because Lucia wasn't the easiest person to get to know, this is why he felt the need to talk to him to reassure Enzo that it wasn't just him. Approaching the front counter, tapping lightly as he waited patiently for the temp to resume his job.

"Hi, do you know where that young man that was sitting next to me a moment ago went?" he asked as politely as possible. Miles was in a good mood now, disregarding that he was STILL drenched in mud. The temp laughed, noting that he had still not taken a shower and cleaned up. He pointed him toward the back, toward the rooms.

"Room 32, and please, clean up!" he chuckled as he gave him a sincere smile.

Enzo was asleep when he heard his room's intercom buzzing he slowly got up without disturbing his friends and headed over to it answering to see the temp "Oh hey there" He said "What can I do for you?" the temp just replied "Oh no I don't need anything I was just calling to let you know that there is a young gentleman coming up to see you I do hope that's ok?" Enzo nodded "Yeah it's fine do you know who it is by any chance?" the temp thought before remembering what Miles had said "Oh yes it was the young gentleman that was sitting with you and that other young lady" Enzo just thought starting to wonder why Miles would be wanting to come and see him but shrugged it off and said "That's fine thank you very much will that be all?" the temp thought before nodding "Yes sir have a good night's sleep goodbye" and hung up. Enzo meanwhile decided if he was up and waiting for Miles to get to his room he'd at least relax and have nice cup of tea going over to the small kitchen area of his room and flicking on the kettle and he prepared the cup.

After about 2/3 minutes the kettle stopped and indicated that it was done boiling so, Enzo picked it up by the handle and poured it in before finishing making his cup of tea he then carried it over to the small sofa in his room and sat down before taking out a book from a basket next to it and beginning to read it, the book was called `Ancient Legends of the Kanto Region` and was a factual book which Enzo enjoyed reading very much under the light of a candle he'd lit so not to wake his sleeping team as, he started to go through it sensibly waiting for a knock on his door from Miles to come.
