The Fiery Ryuji VS The Rocky Roxanne

Ryuji made a big decision earlier, to give his two pokemon Budew and Electrode up for Adoption, meaning he only had Pignite and Totodile on his team. A bond was starting to grow between Ryuji and Totodile, which has only happened once with Ryuji when he and Pignite met. Giving up Budew and Electrode was something which didn't bother Ryuji. Budew was weak and untrained as it just hatched from an egg, and Electrode hasn't battled yet with Ryuji so Ryuji didn't really see his strength.
The three walked towards the Rustboro Gym where they'd be fighting the gym leader Roxanne, a rock type user. This would be Totodile's first battle and first gym battle with Ryuji, it would be a great opportunity for the two to strengthen their newly found bond even more. Totodile was walking on Ryuji's left while Pignite was walking on Ryuji's right. "Pignite, today we're gonna let Totodile fight Roxanne. I want the two of us to see his true strength, and his water moves will definitely show that gym leader who's boss." The trainer said to his partner Pignite. "Pignite." He replied with a nod as he spoke. Pignite understood Ryuji's decision. He knew that in order for them to become the best they'd need some more pokemon on their team, so he wasn't jealous or upset about no fighting Roxanne. Ryuji already knew Pignite's undeniable strength so he didn't have to show Ryuji that he was indeed the best! "Awesome Pignite." Ryuji said with a smile on his face. "Now Totodile, show them your strength! Remember, Pignite and I have your back, don't be afraid. From now on you're apart of the team, and you can count on Pignite to help you if you need it." Ryuji explained and motivated his Totodile.
They then reached the gym, a building covered in rocks with the word "Gym" on top of the door. "Let's do this!" He said to the two next to him as they entered the gym. They were greeted by a trainer named ____. It seemed he wanted a battle before they took on Roxanne. It was just like the Striaton Gym where Ryuji had to take on two trainers before he could take on Cress. Though it seemed there was only this trainer to battle. "Pignite, you wanna show Totodile what you can do?" Ryuji asked Pignite with a sarcastic-like smirk on his face, he knew they'd win. Pignite was strong and took out both those trainers at Striaton without help, so this would turn out to have the same results in Ryuji's head. "Nite!" Pignite said as he clenched his fist. Totodile smiled as he was about to see his new found friend in action for the first time. Pignite then took his place on the gym battlefield and waited for the trainer to release his pokemon.

Sam was reading his book on the stands in the battle arena. It was called ''Pokemon types and how to care for them'' Since he wanted to become a pokemon connisiour he needed to know how to get around. Well excually this was just preparation for when he would go to conissiour school so he would at least get a good start there. For now he had been waiting for challangers to come and face him head on. 

He soon got a call on his cellphone, it was a pure black cellphone with a hanger of a cute skitty on it as he picked it up. ''This is Sam speaking'' He said as it turned out to be roxanne, the gym leader telling him there was a challanger on his way and that she wanted him to battle him first before she would face him. He told her that it was fine and hang up, as he read further waiting to hear a sound come from further inside or a door open, just a sound that would make it known that a presence was in the room. 

It didn't take long before someone came in, it appeared he had a totodile and a pignite. That totodile was going to be trouble. He jumped of, it was pretty high but it wasn't the first time he had done it and just appeared ninja like in front of the trainer. ''So you are the challanger?'' He asked as he looked at him while walking to his place to stand. ''Well let's begin then, battle's up Geodude'' He said as he threw his pokeball forward and half way it opened shooting out a geodude and then flying back to Sam. ''Well challanger gets the first move'' He said smiling.

When Pignite saw the opponent release a Geodude, the battle plans changed. "Pignite." He said as he looked at Totodile. Ryuji was a bit confused as to why Pignte would give up a battle, but he went ahead with Pignite's choice. Pignite wanted Totodile to have this fight, to give Totodile a warm up for Roxanne. "Toto." The crocodile pokemon said as he took stage on the battlefield. "Are you ready Totodile? Let's start this battle off with Water Gun!" Ryuji gave the first command, Totodile would then release a big stream of water from its mouth aimed at the Geodude.

Sam smiled as he saw that the pignite switched with the totodile. ''Hmm this pignite is smart'' He said as he thought about a tactic to take his totodile out. He could see the water gun coming from the trainer, it would just be too easy. ''Quick geodude use you're rollout to dodge and attack'' He said as the pokemon put his stone arms in, formed a ball and with high speed began to race around the totodile dodging the beams of water that were send from its mouth and sometimes striking the totodile hitting it, letting it take damage from time to time.

As the first Rollout hit connected, Ryuji acted quickly to counter. "Use Surf!" A massive wave of water then rose from under Totodile, with the crocodile pokemon surfing the wave which shot with great velocity at the Geodude. A strong move from the Totodile indeed. Pignite's interest in the battle rose to a new level as he saw Totodile create such a big attack. It would be hard for Geodude to dodge this move considering its size, but as always anything was possible in a pokemon battle. The strange egg Ryuji was given from an anonymous someone, started moving slowly in his hands. Ryuji looked at the egg and saw that it was soon to hatch (on the next page you can hatch the egg Ian.)

Sam watched as the water pokemon made a surf. He did know how to dodge, this but he also knew that his pokemon was a higher level then the totodile however he would give the trainer this one to give his confidence a bit of a boost. The attack hit the geodude however before the surf hit he had let his pokemon use defense curl to at least make sure that the attack didn't do as much damage as it would be supposed to do, the pokemon looked like it was a ball on a big wave like it was surfing and sam smiled. However he stopped to look at the egg that began to flash and was hatching. Now it was lighting up the whole room making it look like it was a huge flash attack and when it died down a small oddish could be seen in his hand. ''Awh its so cute'' He said smiling as he watched the pokemon and waited for the boy to react to his pokemon.

Ryuji looked at the Axew and welcomed it to the team. "Welcome Axew. Looks like we've got another member on the team." "AXEW!" it said kinda angrily, it seemed to have a kind of aggressive personality. Ryuji liked it. "Totodile, use Leer then Water Gun!" Totodile then used Leer on the opponent to lower the Geodude's defense, which was followed up by another Water Gun, shooting straight at the Geodude. Let's see if his higher level would help him now

Sam watched the axew. A fiesty one that one was it seems quite aggressive. He smirked as he heard the comment the trainer gave him. Geodude his stats were back to normal now due to the leer from the totodile. He could see the water gun come closer to the geodude however his strategy from before could really work in this situation as well. ''Geodude let's use rollout again to dodge and attack'' He said as geodude rolled just next to the water gun and shot forward coming closer closer to the totodile. Rollout could be really used to do a lot of things and if you were creative it could be used for a lot of things.

(What level is Geodude? So I know how much damage I should be taking when I do take damage)
"Ugh!" Ryuji said in frustration at the Geodude as it kept on dodging the Water Gun again. "Stop that Rollout with Aqua Jet!" Ryuji ordered. Totodile nodded as its body got covered in water and it shot at the Geodude. Totodile was fast, really fast with this move. It would be hard for the Geodude to dodge. The two pokemon could collide with their attacks if the Geodude failed to dodge. Meanwhile, Ryuji had a plan for his Axew. "Wanna get rid of some of that anger inside you Axew? You can always start training while we battle of here, then we can see what you can do in your first battle after this gym." Ryuji said to his newly hatched egg pokemon, Axew. "Ew Ew! Axew!" It seemed quite excited to train, as you could hear the excitement in his voice.
Axew started to run around the gym in a circular manor, from right to left. Running as fast as it could, though it wasn't really fast, as it just hatched. The pokemon didn't give up, it kept running and running around the gym as the battle continued. Axew then started to use his only move, Scratch, to attack the rocks located within the gym. His nails started glowing a white color as they got strengthened, so he started slashing at the first rock he saw. Left paw, right paw, left paw, right paw. And so the scratching continued. Its rage being taken out of the rock left the rock in pieces when it was done. Then, Axew started to punch the next rock it saw. Left fist, right fist, left fist, right fist. The punching continued for a little while when it finally got tired out from its training.

The geodude hit the totodile full on, as the water beam and the rollout clashed sending the two pokemon flying. The geodude had taken massive damage as you were able to see. The pokemon was hurt and had bruises from the water attack. Since it was a water attack that had hit the pokemon the damage was amazingly high. ''Come on geodude we could at least weaken it for the gym leader'' Sam told his geodude and the geodude let out a strong cry. ''Geo Geodude!'' 

''Now first use defense curl'' Sam ordered as the pokemon went into a ball like form which raised its defense. ''Now use mud-sport'' He told his pokemon as it coughed up a lot of mud which was now spread around the area, in the hope it would make the totodile slip in a run towards the stone pokemon. ''Last but not least, use you're rock throw'' He said as his pokemon made rocks and threw them towards the small water pokemon. There were three rocks all in diffrent direction but still aimed closely at the alligator like pokemon, flying towards it.

Totodile was sent flying back from the collision with its Aqua Jet ad the Geodude's Rollout. Covered in a few scratches from the attack, Totodile got up and shook off the dust from the ground. As the opponent started giving commands, it gave Ryuji and Totodile enough time for one command to intercept the Rock Throw. As Geodude finished with the Mud Sport, Ryuji told Totodile to use Surf again. A huge wave of water emerged from underneath Totodile and went for the Geodude. It might have added defense, but the Geodude would meet its end from this surf most likely. The Rock Throw entered the Surf's water and started loosing its momentum from the resistance the Surf gave it, successfully stopping the Rock Throw. Totodile surfed on top of the wave up high in the air, while the Surf continued towards Geodude

The geodude and same looked with big eyes as they watched the rocks just go into the water, he had hoped it would have destabilised the wave that was coming their way but the water had just engulfed the three rocks they had thrown and even with the added defense from the defense curl from earlier it wouldn't have a shot. None the less this was a water attack and geodude was a ground and rock type. It would of cours e be super effective and you shouldn't forget that the geodude had allready taken a lot of damage from all the other attacks that the totodile had sended its way and of course this was the end. ''Use defense curl'' Sam said but it wouldn't be any use. The geodude made it in time but the water attack was super effective and when the water cleared, the geodude was easily seeable lyinig on the ground as it had obviously fainted. 

The trainer returned the geodude to its pokeball and put it back on his belt as a zooming sound could be heard and a elevator appeared at the center of the still wet stage. A girl with black long hair in ponytails entered the arena and stepped out as the elevator went back in the ground. ''So you are the challanger?'' She asked as she looked at Ryuji. ''My name is roxanne the rock gym leader'' She said with her back to him while walking to the place sam had stood only moments ago but now he was sitting at the tribune where he would be able to watch the battle. ''Ok well then nosepass show them what you got'' She said smirking as she threw her pokeball forward and it opened in mid air as a nosepass came out of it. She caught the pokeball again and waited for the challanger to make the first move.

"Hmm." Ryuji said as he wasn't impressed by the trainer's actions in the battle. Totodile did indeed fight well, that he was impressed at. "Good job Totodile. Get some rest, you'll fight again soon." He said as he held Totodile's pokeball and pressed the button. A red beam struck Totodile and returned the pokemon into the ball. "Pignite, you're up first." Ryuji said as Pignite took to the battlefield. The gym leader Roxanne showed up, a Nosepass was her first pokemon. Pignite might be at a type disadvantage, but that has been proven to be nothing for the team when he defeated the gym leader's Panpour at Striaton easily. "Pignite, Flame Thrust." A combination move they came up with, using Flame Charge and Arm Thrust. Pignite's body took flame from the Flame Thrust, followed by him lifting his arm up and clenching his hand into a fist. Pignite's speed was raised from the Flame Thrust, combined with his already high speed advantage from him being a higher level than Nosepass. He was quite fast as he charged at Nosepass and attempted to thrust his arm into the Nosepass, the flame covered arm would do an added damage from the momentum gained by the Flame Thrust, making this combination move a dangerous one for any opponent who faces Pignite.

The nosepass and its trainer watched as the pokemon used an unknown move. However it soon became clear that the move was an combination of two moves. The moves arm trust and flame charge. It were both two good moves and it was a clever idea to use at the same time however the attack had a weak spot. If one of the two missed, the other would also miss and they would be free of charge. The gym leader had an idea what to do as she put out her arm and began to give her pokemon some orders. ''Nosepass use thunderwave then rock blast to keep it at bay.'' The pokemon released a wave of thunder out of his middle body that went throught the whole arena. After that had been done it followed up the rest of the recieved orders as it opened its mouth and began to sput a lot of rocks in a short amount of time to the place where the pokemon was coming from.

"Pignite, return." Ryuji said as he withdrew the pig pokemon before it got hit with the paralyzing attack of the Geodude. He then released Pignite again and looked at the gym leader. "I forfeit the match." The three pokemon of Ryuji looked confused at him, why would he forfeit the battle? A simple paralyzing attack wasn't going to get him down so much that he'd forfeit the battle. But that wasn't the reason he forfeit the match, Ryuji decided it was time to evolve Pignite. If he was evolved he'd be even stronger and that also meant faster as his level grew, so he'd be able to somehow dodge that attack. The move only showed that to Ryuji. "Pignite, we're going to evolve you first before we challenge her again." The pokemon then understood and they left the gym.
