PostSubject: The first recruit (Solena)   The first recruit (Solena) H6Q0F8zFri Mar 28, 2014 11:30 am

Galahad sighed.  He had hoped coming to this place would give him something that would help him get Team Flare back and going.  However, all he could see in the Lysandre cafe was a thin layer of dust over must everything coupled with a few faint and fading auras around the room, none of them that red color that seemed to float around team flare members.  He'd found and talked to a person who was a member of the original group and they had a bright red vibrant aura that, according to the member, Lysandre seemed to look for in his members as well.  At this point however, Galahad would settle for anyone to start his neo team flare with.  His gengar appeared behind him and looked up at it's master.  "No luck here.  Let's leave."  He said, turning around and leaving the abandoned cafe with his ghost type following.  Stepping out into the bustle of Lumiose city, Galahad doubted that he could find anyone willing to sided with him while using the words "team flare" in this city.  Maybe a tourist or something would listen and not know the terrible things his predecessor's almost did.

PostSubject: Re: The first recruit (Solena)   The first recruit (Solena) H6Q0F8zFri Mar 28, 2014 10:28 pm

"Are you sure we aren't lost?" Solena asked out loud, her deep blue eyes shifted toward the Noibat hovering above one shoulder. Today Solena had opted for yellow, she was in a bright sort of mood and wore bright ribbons in her hair to match that mood. Unfortunately, things seemed to be getting a damper as the day went on. The Dragon Tamer had reached Lumiose in high spirits, but now it seemed wherever she turned she ended up somewhere new. She didn't want to bother all of the cabs skirting by, and Vek seemed disdained with the idea of hitching a ride on a Gogoat.

If we are lost, it'd be your fault and not mine, Vek said through their strange telepathic communication followed by a roll of his eyes. While his companions were able to take a break and rest in their Pokeballs, he didn't have the luxury and had to act as his trainer's own personal tour guide. I told you to hang a right, didn't I? You never listen to me and you wonder why we're always in these sorts of messes. I'm never wrong.

"And I'm a Wigglytuff," Solena shot back, though she wasn't about to let Vek's own dour mood spoil her own. At least with him being a bad sport about the city, he wasn't focusing his usual commentary through her mind, it was a nice change of pace. The Dragon Tamer glanced around, it seems now she was near the center of the city, just off of the great tower and Gym. There didn't seem to be many people around this part of town, but one lone man and a Gengar seemed preoccupied.

Why don't you ask him for directions? Vek suggested, motioning a wing toward the pair. He doesn't have good taste in Pokemon, but at least he seems capable of speaking. I'd do it, but, uh, you're the only lucky one around here that could actually revel in the greatness of my voice and company.

"But he looks busy..." Solena trailed off. She moved to turn from the man and walk farther away, but Vek had other plans. The Noibat grabbed one of her ribbons and yanked, releasing it from its tidy knotting and holding it just out of the trainer's jumping reach. He gave a big nod toward the other man, not going to give up the ribbon until she spoke to him. "Fine, I'll ask," Solena mumbled, making her way toward the man and Pokemon.

"Hey," she said loudly to catch his attention, "I'm a bit lost, uh, do you think you can give me directions?"

"Where to next Gengar?" Galahad asked, standing in the middle of the path, hands in his pockets. He then noticed the girl with a noibat. "Huh, what?" He asked, surprised to be approached by someone on the street. Typically he tried to avoid confrontation unless the person had that red team flare aura. "Directions? Oh, well, I'm kind of lost too. Perhaps we could work togehter to find where we need to go." He said, looking at the girl. "I'm Galahad, by the way, and this is Gengar. Pleased to meet you." He held out his hand to shake hers.

"I'm Solena, nice to meet you too" Solena replied, taking Galahad's hand in a soft grip and shaking it. Letting go, she allowed Vek to flit down to her shoulder and examine the man and Pokemon more closely. The dragon bat spit the yellow ribbon from his mouth and his trainer had to dive to grab it and save it from the dirt and grime lurking on the ground below. Chuckling with a dragon-y click of his teeth, Vek took flight as she dove and landed on Galahad's head. "You have no manners, get down from there!" Solena said firmly, only causing Vek to laugh even louder and roll his eyes.

I don't like this guy, Vek said, Just look at him, he screams 'up to no good'. Besides, what if he just lures you to some dark alley and mugs us or something. His Gengar is named 'Gengar' you don't find that any bit suspicious?

"No, I don't," Solena replied with a roll of her eyes, though to Galahad it would seem as if she were talking to herself or replying very strangely. She had forgotten about the silent connection with her Pokemon and neglected to explain things to Galahad. "And I would love the help, I'm looking for a tech store, actually." The dragon tamer held up her left wrist, a blue Poketch was neatly wrapped around it, but the screen seemed to have a big ? over it. "The maps are only updated to Sinnoh, I was looking to get Kalos's added so this sort of thing didn't happen," she smiled.

"A tech store eh Solena? I think I know a place." Galahad said to his new temporary travelling companion. Clearly there was something between her and that noibat of hers. Also, how did she have a noibat and yet know nothing about the Kalos region. "However, I'm afraid you won't just be able to upgrade a program in that thing of yours. Here in Kalos, we have what some might call the next step up. Behold, the holo caster." He held out his arm and showed off the watch. The bulb glowed and a 3d map of the whole region appeared above his wrist. "Pretty neat, don't you agree? I know a place to get them." He said as he offered her his arm. "Come on, it's not too far." What he didn't mention is that the holo caster were made by the people who recently attempted world domination.

"Oh, uh," was all of the response Solena could muster before gazing wide-eyed at the holographic device. "Uh, well, Kalos sure makes Sinnoh look like dinosaurs compared in technology," she smiled, taking Galahad's arm. She wasn't sure if she could afford something as nice as that, but at least at the store if she couldn't get a Holo Caster, she'd be able to update her Poketch. Grinning, she waited for Galahad and Gengar to lead the way.

You're seriously letting Mr. Psychopath here lead you through a city you don't know how to navigate? If he's lost too, then why does he know where the store is in the first place? Vek asked, still perched atop Galahad's head. If you get murdered, it's not my fault, don't say I didn't warn you.

"Alright, we want to head this way." While Galahad didn't quite know where many things were in Lumiose city, he did know where Holo Caster's were sold. Walking through the streets he tried to think of ways to perhaps sway her towards his side. Most ways were rather blunt and awkward. "Uh...so...have you ever heard of Team Flare?" He finally asked her, figuring he may as well not just say that he was a supporter of some of the teams ideas, just that, just find out what she knows.

Solena thought for a moment as she walked. Nothing seemed to ring a bell within her mind, and through her brief moments in Kalos, the name had never came up. She didn't want to disappoint the newcomer, but she could do nothing more but to shake her head apologetically. "I'm sorry, I can't say that I have," she said, "I haven't been in Kalos long, and Sinnoh's a ways away. I'm not exactly, well, in the loop, about a lot of things," fond memories crossed her mind, her family and village weren't exactly the type to keep up with what was happening in the present, the past was all that had mattered to them. "Are you looking for them or something?" she asked, "is it like a sports team or something, or something around Lumiose?" The Dragon Tamer truly was clueless, even toward the way Galahad had awkwardly stumbled with his question.

That'd be a stupid team name, Vek chimed in, yawning from the nest he had crafted with Galahad's now tussled and messy hair, I'd go for something more intimidating, like Wyvern. Who would mess with Team Wyvern? Or even Team Inferno? A flare would have nothing on an inferno.

Solena rolled her eyes and didn't feel as if the stranger would take what the Noibat had said well, so she didn't choose to relay his commentary. Instead, she just glared toward him. "Don't you think its a little rude to just sit on people?" she asked, "he may be too kind to tell you no, but I doubt he's appreciating what you've done to his hair!"

Fine, just ignore my brilliant points. You always go bossy when you don't know how to reply to something, Vek called back. Still he reluctantly stood and flew off from Galahad's head onto Solena's own. He spun in a few circles and slumped down on top of it, mockingly grumbling about how unfair things were for him in life. "So, uh, Team Flare..." Solena prompted, trying to change the subject back to what it had been.

Galahad didn't really mind the pokemon in his hair. He did mind the fact that the pokemon did seem to be rather rude up there. While he couldn't read the dragon-types thoughts, he could read it's aura, and it's aura was one that was rather unpleasant. "Team Flare. It's a name I wouldn't say too loud around some people. It's a group that just wanted to make the world beautiful. They were disbanded a while ago after they're leader attempted to achieve that goal through...extreme measures. There were a few people left from the original team who tried to continue, but they lost sight of the original goal. To make the world beautiful." Galahad said, looking back towards Lysandre Cafe. "I want to try and remake the team. Only I don't want to go into any of the madness that came about because of the last team. I just want to make the world a more beautiful place."

"They don't sound too bad," Solena replied with a naive sort of smile. She didn't focus too much on whatever 'extreme measures' that Galahad spoke of. Surely making the world beautiful wasn't a task that needed too much force, right? "And making the world beautiful is a great goal," she smiled, "I really do wish you luck with a task like that. I'd love to see the result of what you do, and I'm sure you'll make a difference."

Beauty, eh, the world seems plenty beautiful from here, Vek commented, I think he's hitting on you or something. Why else would he keep using the word 'beautiful' when he talks to you. Don't fall for his crap.

"Oh, be quiet Vek," Solena rolled her eyes, "I doubt that's what he's doing." She blinked once before looking back at Galahad apologetically, "I'm so sorry, I probably should have explained sooner," she said, "I'm from an old village back in Sinnoh that virtually worshiped Dragons. I'm from a bloodline that can openly talk with them, however unpleasant the conversation may be," she gave a stern look up toward Vek, who smiled wryly. "It's something common in my family, so I often forget that others have the luxury of not hearing what my dear Noibat has to say," she laughed.

"Yeah, it's just hard to drum up support like I said. Mentioning Team Flare around here usually gets a few dirty looks from people." As if to prove the point, a woman walking by glared at him. "See..." Galahad said, sighing. "As for talking to dragons, that's pretty cool. I was born with the ability to see aura. Sometimes if I'm lucky, I can manipulate it some." He said, holding up his hand and focusing till a small orb formed in his hand. "It takes a bit of focus." He pointed out as it faded. "Well, here we are." He said, stopping outside a door. "I can't make you choose, but I do hope you seriously consider joining me." Galahad dug into his pocket and pulled out a slip of paper. "Here, when you get a holocaster, if you ever want to get in touch with me, this is my contact information." He handed it to her. "Farewell Solena. Perhaps our paths will cross again." Both the trainer and his gengar bowed to the girl before turning and walking deeper into the city.

"Wow, aura," Solena said with genuine interest and delight, "I'll switch you," she joked. Her eyes widened at Galahad's enthusiastic demonstration, though they tinged with envy slightly. She couldn't show off much of her own ability. The voices in her head were hers alone to deal with, and Vek wasn't about to leave her mind in peace.

I will admit, Vek said, that is pretty cool. I, however, can turn my wings to metallic energy at a moment's time and effort, not much concentration needed. Let's see him beat that!

Both trainer and Pokemon's eyes lit with surprise at the mention of joining him. Me? Solena thought, join a movement as important as that!? I couldn't, I'd just let him down. He's so focused on his goals and I'd probably just ruin them! As he turned and walked away without awaiting her to get an edge in word-wise, Solena just turned and went into the store, her mind whirring with thoughts. Vek seemed strangely silent, as if the comment had caught him so off guard he was stunned.

Now within the little store, the Dragon Tamer took a quick and curious look around for some sort of cashier or floor worker. "H-Hello," she said, "I'm, uh, here to check into cheap Holocasters." She had pocketed Galahad's number, noting to add it later into either the new Holocaster or her Poketch depending on how costly a new device would be.

Galahad immediately regretted just leaving her. How could he possibly start an organisation if he couldn't even have the common sense to stick around a person who actually might have joined. If he went back now though, would he just look desperate? "I don't know what to do Gengar..." He asked his partner. The ghost type looked at it's master, at this point used to the man's struggles. "I'm going to go back. Maybe I can help her pick a holocaster...you don't think that'd be pushing it, would you?" His gengar shrugged. "Gah, you aren't helpful." He said, still, Galahad began to walk back towards the holocaster store.

(I can talk to myself, I'm pretty good at it o3o)

"I can help you over here," a man's voice echoed through the halls of the shop. He seemed to have been obscured by the abundance of shelves stocked with the latest Kalos gadgets. Solena had only barely had time to stare at everything with wide, appreciative eyes when the man had caught her attention.

"Oh, okay," Solena said, taking a moment to glare at Vek. The Noibat himself wasn't as stunned by the devices as his trainer was, for he was taking the opportunity to flap his way up to the tallest shelf and read some of the names with a bored expression.

Snag Machine? he read, that sounds illegal. There was a moment of silence as Solena made her way around an oddly placed shelf before he piped up again. Oh, replica. How boring. You think we could go to Orre to get the real thing, it sounds more awesome than whatever you're getting. What was it again, a Hollowcaser?

Solena rolled her eyes and didn't muster a response, deciding to instead finish her trek to the back of the store. Upon finally reaching the employee, she gave him a quick smile. "Thank you for the help," she said.

"Oh, it's no problem, I was just restocking our Pokeball collection. You said you wanted a Holocaster? They have been going down in price due to a, uh, recent scandal regarding the company that made them, but they're the hottest gadget in Kalos." His eyes fell to the Poketch on her wrists, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "I take it you aren't from around here. Poketches are nice, but they don't have anything on the Holocaster. Anyway, right this way." He stood and started heading toward one of the side walls while Solena hastily followed.

Galahad stopped and started the walk back to the tech shop about three times. He couldn't make up his mind about whether or not he wanted to go back to Solena and push harder to recruit her. He finally made it to the store and stood outside the door. "I should go in." He said, looking in the window. His gengar stood next to him, not saying anything. The ghost type had been with Galahad for so long, it knew not to try and interject when he was doubting himself like this. "I'm going in." Galahad finally decided as he opened the door and walked in. Making his way up and down the aisle, he finally found her. "Hey." He said, walking up to Solena and the salesman. "I thought you might want someone who knows more about the technology to help you pick a holocaster."

"Oh," Solena said in surprise, "I wasn't expecting to see you so soon. I could use the help, though, there are so many." Her wide eyes were scanning the Holocaster shelf with slight amazement. "Which would you recommend?" She asked Galahad, not making too much of a big deal about the strange man's sudden reappearance. "And do you think they'll have one in yellow? It's my favorite color!" Her excitement was enough to mask Galhad's fear: that he would creep her out by going back. She was too easygoing for an emotion like that.

Galahad sighed in relief that Solena didn't seem concerned with his return. "They used to have them in every color. Nowadays, what they have is typically what you can get. They still make the things, just not in the capacity they used to." He said, looking over the shelf. "Maybe this one." He grabbed one from the shelf. It was a rather sleek model, newer then his, yet just as functional. Plus, thankfully, it was in yellow. At least, the colored plastic around the console and projector were a pleasant yellow color. Looking over at her and holding it out, he noticed that Solena's aura had shades that were almost the same color as the holocaster he was offering her. "What do you think? If you can't afford it, I could probably cover what you can't afford."

"I couldn't possibly take your money," Solena said, "it would be wrong of me to exploit generosity like that." Even as she said it, she braced herself from some sort of comment from Vek, though the Noibat was oddly silent, probably up to something. Still, the Holocaster displayed on the box's art was beautiful, and its color just the right shade to match her own dinky Poketch. She lifted the box from Galahad's outstretched hands and turned it over to look at the sticker with the price. "Oh, awesome!" she suddenly exclaimed, "I do have enough for one, thank you Galahad!" She was grinning toward the aura trainer and lightly hugged the box. "I'll take it," she said to the store clerk, who seemed relieved that his time wasn't wasted.

"You can hang onto the box," the clerk said, "I'll just ring it up using its store code." He walked back to the register and typed a couple things in. Solena quickly dashed after him and handed him the amount needed to pay for the technology. Delighted, once the transaction was made, she opened the box and slid the packaged technology out. "Wow," she admired, "it really is as cool as it looked. Thanks for convincing me to get one." Unsure of how to operate it, however, she just stared at it, not having had the chance to own something so technological, she was slightly in shock.

"I...I guess I could give you a hand figuring it out." Galahad said, not sure if this was pushing it. "First, you'll have to turn it on." He said, slowly reaching over and flipping the switch. The console lit up and a soft hum could be heard if one were to listen closely. "Then, if you want to make a call, hit this button." He pointed to one of the buttons on the holocaster. "There's also a map setting built in on this model, here." He hit a button on her holocaster and a small map of Lumiose city opened up. "The two buttons on either side zoom in and out so you can see the whole region or just the specific area you're in." He then hit another button and a blank list screen came up. "I'll just put my holocaster number in here. If you ever want to get a hold of me, just call." He said, typing in a number that then appeared next to his name on the contact list. "So, now that you have the most up to date technology that this place has to offer, are there any sites around Lumiose you're interested in seeing. There are several cafes and a few resturants, so I've heard."

"Wow, it's easier to use than I thought it would be," Solena grinned, "I'll have to transfer numbers from my Poketch to this, I'm sure it'll work a lot smoother than my hunk of junk. The reception was terrible in Kalos!" Vek's silence remained, and she was beginning to feel the foreboding feeling that he was up to something, but just as her eyes were scanning the store shelves, he came fluttering down from where he had been and landed on his trainer's head.

Took you long enough. Nice tech, his gaze looked the Holocaster over several times, it better have games. Least then I'll have something to occupy myself with while you're doing boring stuff like this. All you do is shop, at least this time it wasn't for clothes.

It was a nice change for his comments to not be about Galahad, perhaps the Noibat finally accepted his trainer's new friend as someone trustworthy. As soon as the though crossed her mind, she pushed it aside. It was Vek, he didn't like anybody. Solena gently placed the Holocaster in her bag and looked up to Galahad. "Thank you for everything, it really does mean a lot. Do you know any sort of space good for training? As long as it's open, I can manage it. I've been meaning to get all of my Pokemon a little exercise, I feel a little guilty for keeping these two in their Pokeballs all day." She glanced down toward her belt, where three Pokeballs nestled, two of which were full with sleeping Pokemon inside.

"Oh..." Galahad said, mildly surprised by Solena's response. "The fact that Lumiose is in the center of the region, there are several gates that lead to several areas all around the city. So depending on how strong your pokemon are, that's where we'll go. Come on." He said walking out of the store where his Gengar was waiting. "So, where do you want to head?"

'We' Vek began in Solena's head, the Dragon Tamer knew she was about ready for some sort of speech from him. You need to lose this guy as fast as you can, he's clearly a stalker. Offering to buy you presents to butter you up and guilt you into letting him tag along. Next thing you know and he'll have kidnapped you or something!"

Solena herself rolled her eyes, "you're overreacting," she sighed, before giving Galahad an apologetic look. "Vek's not too trusting of you yet, but don't worry. He does this to everyone I meet. You'll grow on him eventually. At least the rest of the gang's not so distrusting." Thinking of her other two Pokemon, she decided that now was probably a good time to let them out for some air, they had been napping all day. Grabbing the two Pokeballs from her belt, she tossed them into the air in order to release the Pokemon inside.

In a burst of light, her Swablu and Trapinch appeared, looking up at Galahad and Gengar with curiosity. "These are Scala and Iccus, I can't formally speak to them yet, but they're both great Pokemon!" Iccus fluttered her wings and did a twirl in the air as her greeting, while Scala waved from her spot on the ground. "And I'm not too familiar with the area myself, so how about you pick," she smiled, finally answering the other trainer's question.

"Alright." Galahad said, looking at the two pokemon, then glancing at his gengar. "I think I know a place where you could train. We have to take the west gate of the city." He said, looking up to trying to figure out which way that gate was. "Come on, this way." He said, starting to walk towards what he thought was the west gate. "So, Solena, what brings you to Kalos?"

Solena easily and happily followed, looking at all of her surroundings with excitement and wonder. It wasn't every day she ended up in a city as big and energetic as this. Since she was no longer lost, for the most part anyway, she could allow the brilliance of her surroundings to finally be appreciated. The Dragon Tamer wasn't the only one stunned by the area. Scala kept accidentally bumping into the back of her trainer's leg as she, too, looked up at the buildings surrounding them with eyes as wide as Solena's own. The little sightseer was living her dream in that moment, the only thing that would make it better is if she could take off and fly to view things from all sorts of angles. Iccus and Vek were so lucky with their wings!

Only just then realizing that Galahad had spoken, Solena shot him an apologetic glance. As she shuffled her feet following the strange man, she pondered the question. "I'm not entirely sure myself," she started, "I guess I've never quite had freedom to do what I want until recently. If you can't tell, I love fashion," she looked down toward her outfit, matched to the tee, "and Kalos was where Vek's parents were from. I'm a Coordinator, er, want to be one, but I only learned that this region didn't have contests until after I got here. I decided to go sight seeing anyway, so here I am." She laughed, turning her gaze toward Galahad. "What about you? Are you from Kalos?"

"Good reason I guess." Galahad said as he kept walking. "And while it's true that there isn't much for coordinators to do here, there is some sort of big film studio." The name of the place currently was slipping his mind. He just recalled walking past the place a few times while trying to find Lysandre Cafe. "I'm sure a talented coordinator like yourself would be able to succeed there. As for me, I've lived in Kalos my whole life. I only came here to Lumiose City recently though. I was looking for something I thought I could find here." He said, trying to again not mention that he was looking for the secret lab of an 'evil' organisation. He kept walking for a while till he found the large gate. "Alright, here we are. On the other side of that gate is a good place for you to train your pokemon. Is there anything else I can do to help?"
