Battle Style:
Vladimir is a great famished beast devouring everything in his path and belching out black smoke. He is aggressive and offensive. Vladimir instantly overcomes and envelopes an opponent without giving them time to defend or counter attack. Like fire, he attacks often neutralizing and attacking at the same time; imagine a brush fire through a dry forest going uphill.

Personality:
Cocky, loud, and sure he is indestructible, when Vladimir encountered a wild Pokémon for the first time as a child, everybody else got scared. Vladimir sent his Pokémon out and had some fun.

Vladimir is motivated by self-interest and self-preservation, but there is a line he will not cross, which sets him apart from evil people. When forced to choose between right and wrong, he will sometimes choose wrong because it is easier. Vladimir can play both sides with good guys and bad guys, profiting from both. He can show little or no remorse for bad behaviors and is usually a mess of contradictions

At all times, Vladimir carries a double-sided coin with one side defaced, which he constantly flips to make any choices. Vladimir flips the coin at critical junctures: The scarred side would usually result in a villainous action, but the clean side would allow Vladimir to do the right thing, such as fighting fairly or refraining from attacking an already fainted opponent.

Nevertheless, should Vladimir find another person trustworthy, experience that person’s abilities, and share his common danger and dire circumstances, his stance towards the person would seem to thaw. Although he would never quite lose his self-contained and me-first attitude, there would be cues that he is not as callous as he would appear on first impression.

Vladimir appears to be very high-maintenance when it comes to his appearance.

History:
A lifetime of drifting from city to city, finding back-alley card games, and trying to stay out of jail has taught Vladimir 2 valuable lessons: Do not trust anyone, and look out for number one.

He’d come to Johto looking for some gullible fish on the riverboat gambling cruise circuit. Instead, he found a city perfect for him to take his career of being a Pokémon Trainer seriously. In order to make a choice, he flipped his double-sided coin with the scarred side meaning a “no,” but the clean side meaning a “yes.” The coin happened to give him its clean side.

Vladimir is a gambler and a con artist with a shady―even violent―past. Strong hints of a violent, criminal past surface when, for example, he once said it is illegal for him to have a firearm while he brings a Beretta M9 with him all the time; is an expert with first aid kits; and one time he was badly hurt, he blurted out, "It's been a long time… since I've felt this bad."

Vladimir speaks in a Boston wise guy accent, an attribute that accentuates perceptions of a shady past and a personality impregnated with a capacity for violence. Vladimir also possesses a body of gruesome knowledge that he hints at from time to time—including the relative ease and difficulty of getting brains out of suits and blood out of girlfriend's shirts—both of which he suffixes with the line "Don't ask me how I know that."
