War.
War never changes.
Before the bombs fell, the people were prepared.  They built vaults all over the country designated with a number.  People paid good money to get in before war came and once the vaults were full, they sealed the doors.  The vaults weren't just built for preserving humanity though.  No, the men who designed them had ulterior motives.  The pursuit of science.  Each vault had an experimental purpose.  Vault 4, which was built in the adirondacks somewhere in New York State, was designed to see how far down a vault could be built.  The vault went miles down into the earth and people were brought in and the door was sealed.  The war didn't end all life outside the vaults though.  People survived and settlements began to spring up.  Now, vault 4 has opened and the world is yours to explore.  So, what are you?  A citizen of the vault, or a survivor of the wasteland.  A hero to the people, or a vile bandit.  That choice is yours to make.

History:He grew up in a small settlement in the mountains. One day he went for a hike and discovered the opened vault door and quickly ran down the hill to inform those who lived with him. Rather then all out violence, as is sometimes the case when a vault opens, the settlers and the vault dwellers have begun to commingle.
Starting items: .357 magnum revolver and a Brotherhood of Steel holotag he found in the woods one day.

Personality: Vajra is a tricks-y young woman that wants nothing of "friendship" or "companions." She wants riches, bounties, items that can be counted and shown off. And she'll do whatever it takes to get it, be it lying, stealing, or murder. She's a flirt, and considers herself to be rather good-looking, which she tries to use for her favor to seduce both men and women alike. She's intelligent, that's one thing to not forget about her. Vajra has made her way out of more traps and situations than she herself can count. And she's sarcastic, sassy. She's got a very dry sense of humor and tends to poke fun at people she finds annoying or needy.

Starting items: AEP7 Laser Pistol and a pair of pink glasses she only uses when aiming from long distances.

Origin: Vault Dweller
Special skills: enhanced sight and hearing, able to hack/repair/invent machines/weapons given the right equipment. Slightly abnormal strength, speed, reaction speed, accuracy and intelligence for his “age” (e.g. he has the strength equal to a healthy 30 year old man).
Brief history: Alfa was a social experiment being conducted within the vault. He is an android who looks and thinks he is a human. He was programed with false memories and vast knowledge (just allowing him to perform the skills above and he would be thinking he is learning through trial and error so he wouldn’t be starting with the information he actually already knows). He also has emotions and will act just like a human and eat for example (which is converted into energy) he breaths air as a cooling filter….you get the idea he is basically an odd “human”.

Alright then, 3's a party. Let's get started.

I sat there, polishing the my pistol again. It was something I'd treasured for quite some time now, but had yet to really use it. The guards kept raiders and the occasional rogue vault dweller out. The hunters went out and got food and scouted the surrounding area. Of course, I wouldn't be able to go out out with the scouting parties for another few months. Looking up towards where the vault was, I sighed, knowing that I was the one who had stumbled across it and was now basically kept out. Noticing that the guard on duty now was rather intoxicated, I chose to sneak up there. Holstering my pistol I crouched and snuck through the bush and up the hill. Soon I was at the vault and marveled at the big door. "So, the vault." I said, staring into it. I took a cautious step and entered the mysterious fortress in the mountain side.

Inside of the Vault, the shuffling of feet could be heard. The noise was coming from no one other than Vajra, who was currently scavenging through the Vault for things she could steal, while donning full guard clothing. The body of the man she apparently stole them from lay on the floor, eyes closed, dead from most standpoints. It was only when she had begun to fill up her first sack that she turned around and noticed Jonathon in the Vault. "Oh. Hey there kid, what're you doin' in here?" Vajra stayed in place, however, she looked him up and down, her instincts taking effect near instantly. She thought quietly as she did so. 'Quite handsome, but a bit scrawny. Can't be too much of a hassle. If I can't seduce him, I'll just knock him out and hide his body in the Vault..' She kept up a smile on the outside as she thought out her plan.

Foot steps could be heard from dealer within the Vault slowly coming towards the to two people already there, they sounded like foot steps and were coming in a pattern sounding almost mechanical. Soon the shadow of a man looking at every last detail, eventually a man in a full hazmat suit would walk past them as if they weren't anything important, the man was clearly armed with a revolver and machete.

I was apprehensive of the woman who appeared in the vault. Something about her made her seem out of place in the vault. "I just came up here to try and investigate the vault some. I'm from the village that's close by and was bored." I said, subtly slipping a hand towardsmy revolver. Then the rather intimidating man in the haz-mat suit came out. As the armored man lumbered past I turned towards him. "Hey, what are you doing? The air's clean enough out here. You don't need the suit."

Through the hazmat suit's filter the voice sounded almost robotic "This was unknown to I....unknown factors of outside the vault require preparations for every possible outcome and factor..." the person in the hazmat suit looked at the weapons they were both carrying "Do you intend to attack me......you both bare weapons and stand within the vault though you two are not residents of the vault..."

"What...?" I said, confused by how the vault dweller spoke. What did he mean about both of us not being residents. Turning towards the girl I slowly drew my revolver. "Alright then. If you're not from the vault, what are you doing dressed like that?" I said, keeping my arm bent and the gun pointed at the ground. "It seems that now that the vault is open, I can't particularly trust everyone in it."

Vajra casually strolled over to Jonathon, her vision occasionally shifting from the younger boy to the odd man wearing the suit. She leaned to whisper in Jonathon's ear, her bag at her side and her weapon still holstered at her hip. She lowered her tone as much as physically possible before beginning. "Look kid, he's obviously a hostile, I'm not looking for a fight. Just try and play along with whatever I can think of, and we'll probably make it out of this Vault alive and, as for me, with some loot." She then shushed him, even though she wasn't sure if he was going to retaliate or agree. "Ah, well you see, good sir-" She began, putting her best foot forwards for charisma's sake, "I was simply cleaning the Vault of whatever belongings that were already here to redistribute them fairly, he's only here to help. We have no intention to fight you, whatsoever, sir. So there's no need for gunfire, no no.~" Vajra had a feeling this wouldn't work, but it couldn't kill to try.

"I will only act hostile if the two of you intend to act hostile towards me.....I have no need for violence..... the man turned his attention to he girl as she began talking to him as she stated she was just cleaning the vault "If you are a resident of this vault like you claim then I require two pieces of information....what is the number of this vault and who is the overseer of this vault?......."

This was not going to end well. Holstering my pistol and raising my hands, I made eye contact with the man from the vault. I had no idea what he'd do to her, but I knew me being here could just make things worse. "I'll just be on my way back. Sorry to intrude, I just wanted to investigate the vault a little." I began to walk back towards the settlement, then I saw something above the tree and my heart sank. Smoke, and lots of it. Coming from the settlement. "Oh god..."
