Lucy Vs. Brock! (mod needed)

After finishing up her training, and feeding a few rare candies she had received as a present to her current Pokemon team, Lucy felt she was ready to take on the Gym Leader. The small girl opened the doors to the Pewter City gym, heading inside.

Unsure if she would run into any Gym Trainers before her battle with the Leader, Lucy walked around the Rock themed gym hesitantly. One Pokemon was out of his Pokemon, Azurill, who wasn't a big fan of them bounced after his trainer.

"Azu!" He called.

There was only one trainer blocking Lucy's path in the rocky gym: a young man garbed entirely in green, with a light cap concealing most of his short black hair and shadowing his hazel eyes and pale complexion. He had muscles, but his whole frame overall was thin, with two Poke Balls attached to the utility belt keeping his shorts up.

"Before you can take on the leader, you've got to fight me first!" The male declared, releasing a Pokemon of his own: a level ten male Geodude. He had the type disadvantage, and he knew it, but that wouldn't stop him from trying. It was hardly his first rodeo, after all! "I'll be using two Pokemon, you can substitute as many as you like. Single battle. Fair?"

"That's fine." Lucy replied to the boy, "I'll use Azurill first." She looked over at her Pokemon, who jumped in front of Geodude. The level 7 male Azurill might have a level disadvantage to the trainer's Pokemon, but thankfully knew quite a few water moves.

As soon as Azurill was ready to fight, his ability activated, Huge Power. White aura surrounded the Pokemon, doubling his attack stat. Lucy smiled, glad to see that her Pokemon's ability would be of good use. "Okay...let's start off with something simple...use Tail Whip!" Lucy commanded. Azurill nodded, turning around and hopping off his tail ball, swaying it around at Geodude, hoping it would lower the Pokemon's defense.

Liam raised his eyebrows at the odd display. It did lower Geodude's defence, but only because he was perplexed. Heck, it could even be said it worked on the trainer, who would surely underestimate Lucy's abilities with such a weak start out. "Use rock polish, Geodude." He commanded, his Pokemon beginning to massage its own body to get rid of excess gravel and increase speed, "Then go straight in for a tackle attack!"

Azurill was knocked back by the tackle attack, tumbled backwards, before regaining his footing. Azurill turned back to Lucy for instructions, tilting his head at her. Lucy watched Geodude, deciding on her move, "Okay lets use Bubble! Azurill jumped up, opening his mouth and letting out several blue bubbles at Geodude, hoping they would hit.

The stream of bubbles were swiftly released, and given Geodude's close proximity, even with increased speed he struggled to completely avoid the stream. He gave out a pained cry, "Defense curl!" He was ordered, and the rock type covered his weak spots until the attack was over, "Now, tackle again!"

Azurill tried to dodge the tackle, but ended up tripping over his own tail. The normal/fairy type was knocked around by the tackle attack. "Azuuu!" He cried out. Lucy bit her lip, hearing her Pokemon cry out, "You'll be okay...use sing!" She reassured him. Azurill's cries suddenly turned into a sweet lullaby, trying to lull the Geodude to sleep.

"Try to block up your ears with dirt!" Liam called, but it was too late. As much as Geodude tried to obscure the fairy's soft song, he soon drifted off to sleep, hitting the ground with a heavy thud. "Come on, Geodude! Wake up! You're gonna end up in big trouble here!"

Lucy smiled, this being one of her first battles with a real trainer, and she being the one who was winning. Azurill jumped up happily as well, walking closer to the sleeping Geodude. "Now use Water Gun." Lucy whispered, making sure not to wake the Geodude. Azurill opened his mouth, letting out a stream of water towards the napping Pokemon, hoping his aim was good enough to hit the Rock/Ground Pokemon.

From that kind of distance, it was impossible for Azurill to miss a sleeping target. The baby hit dead on, and the Geodude went rolling backwards, soaking wet right through to his core. Liam cringed, his Pokemon still slumbering, his breathing ragged. "Damnit..." He sighed, giving in before things could get worse and returning his Pokemon. Azurill gained ten experience and leveled up! Liam sent out Sandshrew next, a male at level eleven. "Start out with sand attack, Sandshrew! Then use swift!"

Lucy grinned, seeing her Pokemon level up, but her smile fell when Azurill's eyes became full of sand from their next opponent. He kept his eyes closed, his accuracy lowered, and was then hit by the stars from Sandshrew's swift attack. He tumbled about, weaker from the attack he was bombarded with.
"Azurill, quick use bubble!" Lucy called out. Azurill spewed more bubbles at Sandshrew, though it might miss as the Pokemon hadn't opened his eyes yet.

"Dodge it with rapid spin, and then use poison sting!" Liam called, his Pokemon speedily rolling out of the way of the bubbles, fighting back with a spit of toxic darts. "Now use rollout!" It was clear that Sandshrew had the advantage of speed and less clumsiness here, but it would also be harder to see attacks like bubble coming when rolling around. Dirt flew up around the battlefield, adding more insult to Azurill's accuracy injury. Geodude might've been slow, but this was a whole different match now.

Azurill winced in pain after being stung by the Sandshrew, but thankfully wasn't poisoned as a result. Lucy groaned, as she watched the Sandshrew roll over Azurill. "Fake Tears!" Lucy shouted quickly. Azurill's eye suddenly swelled with tears, and he began crying in front of Sandshrew, hopefully lowering his special defense. "Now use Water Gun!" Lucy said, and Azurill opened his mouth letting out a stream of water at Sandshrew. Azurill breathed heavily afterwards, very worn out from the battle.

The strike of water gun was super effective, and Liam cringed. With special defense lowered, it had taken quite a chunk of health from his poor Pokemon. "Just keep rolling!" He shouted, hoping for Sandshrew to mow the tired opponent down. They had the level advantage, at least, and with Azurill tired, there was definitely still hope to turn this around.

Azurill tried to run from the rolling Pokemon, but ended up getting squashed yet again. Barely able to stand Lucy was about to return her Pokemon to his dread Pokeball, when she remembered something. The girl fished through her bag, pulling out a Sitrus Berry, she tossed it over to Azurill, who quickly gobbled the yellow berry up. Azurill regained some HP, and looked like he was ready to battle again. "Now use Bubble." Lucy told her Pokemon. Azurill opened his mouth, letting out some frothy bubbles towards the Sandshrew.

"Be careful! Bounce up, Sandshrew, and avoid those bubbles!" Liam called out hastily, his heart racing from the adrenaline of the battle. His Pokemon, still in rollout, shot up high into the air, crashing down in a cloud of dust and proceeding after Azurill. Neither trainer or Pokemon were willing to give this battle up yet.

Lucy pulled out a Pokeball, returning Azurill before he could get run over once more. As soon as she returned the Pokemon, he broke out of the ball, standing on the sidelines with his trainer now.
"You wanna stay outside?" She asked her Pokemon, who nodded, "Okay...then come on out, Apollo!" She shouted, sending out a Charmander. "Quick, Dragon Rush!" Lucy commanded. Despite the type disadvantage, Apollo was a higher level and also full of energy, unlike Azurill. His body was coated in a blue flame and he ran full speed at Sandshrew.

Liam was puzzled by the changeover. If Azurill had been more capable with his tail, he could've won it easily for Lucy even when he was tired. However, the trainer understood when Apollo rushed forward with great strength, deciding to take Sandshrew head on. Unfortunately for the starter, Sandshrew's attack was super effective, but that didn't mean a loss. Apollo took more damage, but as inferred by the ground type's collapsing onto the terrain, it was clear that Lucy had won. The Sandshrew was returned, and both Azurill and Apollo earned six experience points each, giving the baby yet another level boost!

"That was a cool battle, you're definitely ready for Brock." The gym trainer said, bringing out $220 in prize money from his wallet, which he handed over to the victor. "Just be careful up there, or you'll get crushed."

Lucy gave a sigh of relief, "Thank you for the battle...but I think I'm going to heal my Pokemon, just in case." She said, coaxing Apollo and Azurill back to her. Azurill hopped into Lucy's arms, and Apollo walked by her side as she left the Gym.

Lucy walked into the Red colored Pokemon Center, walking over to the reception desk, "Hello...um Nurse Joy...Could you heal my Pokemon?" She asked, returning Apollo as she talked to the Nurse.

The Pokemon Centre was a bit busier in the daytime, the Chansey that were around running after this and that. Nurse Joy smiled sweetly at Lucy, taking her Poke Balls to set on a tray, cooing at the Azurill in comfort as he was set on top as well, "Of course I can, but it's going to be a few minutes, so long as you're fine to wait?" She asked, peering down at the rookie with a blue, maternal gaze.

Lucy nodded, "Yes, that's fine." She said, looking around for somewhere to sit. She walked over to one of the seats on the side and sat down.

It wasn't long before somebody came and sat near to Lucy, smiling politely as he did so, one earbud connected to an old-styled pokegear. It was a brunette man, a bit taller than most but with an average frame, a white roundneck t-shirt on and exposed by his open red jacket, which matched the trainer's cargo pants. He had set six Poke Balls to be healed by Nurse Joy only a few minutes prior to joining the girl, reddish eyes sweeping over the busy Pokemon Centre. People of all ages and from all places could be seen in the building, and the man was probably one of the eldest among them, even if he was only in his mid-twenties.

Lucy was surprised, she had seen the six Pokeballs and assumed he must be a talented Pokemon Trainer to have that many, given she only had three and one egg. Speaking of the egg, Lucy opened her bag, pulling it out, mostly to do her hourly check up on it.

The egg was warm, and it moved occasionally within its incubator, suggesting that it was going to hatch soon. "Oh, you have an egg." The man observed with a smile, looking over at the young girl with interest. "Do you have any idea what's inside it? Don't worry, I'm not going to steal it or try to cook it." He added with a playful laugh, "I'm Henry, by the way."

"Oh...um, I'm Lucy..." She laughed nervously, "I'm not too sure what's in the egg...it was a gift." She said, "I think it's gonna hatch soon." feeling the warmth from the egg.
