The Start of a New Adventure

OOC: This is not the town where Rowan does research, but whatever. You seem to have also left out Sandgem Town. Another flaw, but hey! I'm here to RP not judge, but would like to bring that up.

Ivan was visiting Twinleaf, because why not? It's a great place to visit. A small town with beautiful scenery. He used to live here until his parents started the new day care center. They moved to Sandgem, Where Professor Rowan's lab is or was or...well let's just say that Ivan doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings that well. It was a nice day, but Ivan had to get going. He did just get his Pikachu after all.

She was carelessly playing in a small patch of flowers. He hadn't named her yet. There was all sorts of names to choose from and Ivan really hated making decisions. So Ivan randomly picked a letter. 'M. Mylie, Mari, Marideth, Millie...' Ivan recited the names in his mind. 'MILLIE! That's perfect!' Ivan beemed with joy as he figured out the name. Ivan turned to his Pikachu and called the name that he had just chosen for her.

"Millie! Millie!" Ivan's pikachu stopped for a second and looked at Ivan, confused. Typical. Ivan called the name again. The Pikachu looked at Ivan a bit less confused and started toward him and stopped. "That's right Millie! That's you! I'm going to call you Millie from now on okay?"

The Pikachu understood and replied happily. "Pika-Pi!" Ivan got to his knees and Millie jumped into his hood, a custom that Ivan had just recently taught the Pikachu to do. Ivan stood up, looked at Millie, smiled, then went to leave the town. Ivan's quest to earn the Sinnoh Badges would begin.

A Pansage could be seen swinging around from the vines hanging from the nearby clump of trees.


Level 10

'Is that a Pansage?' Ivan thought. He knew most pokemon from memory because of his family background. "It looks a bit tough, but you can handle it right Millie?" "Pika!" "I don't want a Pansage on my team, but I'll leave some blueberries for it for when it wakes up. Millie let's go!" Millie hopped out of Ivan's hood and got the attention of the Pansage. "Millie! Use Thundershock!" Millie obeyed and charged up power. "PIKA!!" Millie shouted when she released her Thundershock upon the Pansage.

The pansage looked around and spied the Electric Mouse pokemon just as the Thundershock landed. It toppled down from the branch but grabbed a vine and slowed it's descent. Hopping onto the ground, it gave a savage cry at Millie before grabbing it's tail. With a faint glow, a vine ensued from the middle and Pansage whipped it at Pikachu, using Vine Whip.

"Millie! Watch out!" Ivan spotted the vine. Millie started to move, but the vine whip still hit Millie, not as hard as it would have if Millie didn't move, but it still hit her. The Pansage was definately a strong pokemon for Millie to fight at this level so It could take some time to beat this pansage. 'If that's the case then we need to speed this up a bit. "Millie! Use Tail whip!" Now Ivan would never have Millie use this move in trainer battles. There was no use for it, but right now it could come in handy.

Millie obeyed Ivan's command and went toward the pansage flicking her tail this way and that ready to lower it's defense for a chance to strike it with a stronger blow the next time Millie actually attacked.

The Tail Whip involuntarily worked. Pansage's defense was lowered but it chose to scurry up the tree at a higher perch from where it released another Vine Whip.

Ivan was going to warn Millie, but this time she noticed it. Must be because of the distance that Millie had enough time to just barely dodge the Vine Whip. Ivan was going to shout to Millie to use thundershock, but Millie already knew that using tail whip again wouldn't really work with the Pansage up the tree. Millie charged up for a Thundershock before Ivan could actually shout the command. 'What a smart Pikachu she is.' Ivan though.

OOC: No don't worry I won't keep dodging. I don't want to break the rules. The first two i think is enough dodging for now. I don't have any potions ya know.

(It's okay. I don't think anyone uses Potions here though, even though they may buy it. o3o Also, you are allowed to dodge twice in a row so you're still well within the limits. ^^)

Pansage was more agile up the trees. It grabbed a vine and swung away. Neatly back-flipping, it landed squarely on a branch. It seemed to be quite the athlete. And a show off. It glared at Pikachu before turning it into a Leer. Then it again used a Vine Whip at her, opting for ranged attacks.

"Millie watch out!" Ivan shouted. The vine was coming faster than all the other times. Millie made to dodge the vine that was coming down upon her, but it was too late. Millie got hit. "Millie!" Ivan started to rush over to Millie. Millie began to get up so Ivan skidded to a halt. She probably wouldn't stand another hit from the same pansage. Not at hear level, but...Millie needed the experience to see what it was like to fight to the fullest, because at some time Ivan would be using all his pokemon to fight to their fullest to beat gym leaders and maybe, the Elite four.

"Millie...thundershock." The only damaging move Millie had, but Millie may be able to win against this pansage, barely, but still beat it. The pikachu gladly obeyed.

The Pansage again attempted to dodge but not only did it's hand slip and it fell to the ground, it also was hit by the Thundershock. It got slowly to it's feet and made to scamper up but it's movements were suddenly arrested and it's fell to the ground again. Small electric sparks danced across it's being as it got to it's feet, the grim realisation dawning upon it slowly. Paralysis. It could turn the tide of battle. It ran towards it's opponent in an attempt to Lick it but again dropped limply just as paralysis kicked in again.

Ivan was almost overjoyed to see this. Millie seemed to know what was going on. "Millie! You know what to do!" and with that Millie released another thundershock.

Pansage took the hit with a slight gritting of teeth. It got up stiffly and ran to the trees. It turned and released another Vine Whip, before trying to scamper up the bark. Stiffness made progress slow, but steady. Pansage egged itself on and finally reached a branch. Coiling it's hand around a vine, it released another Vine Whip, ready to swing away.

Millie was shot back by the Vine Whip. Ivan was getting worried. Sure his pikachu had survived this hit, but the next one was sure to be the last. If Millie fainted, Ivan wouldn't be upset, but It would slow Millie's training. He hoped he could beat this pansage and quickly heal Millie up. Millie slowly got up and charged up another Thundershock.

Pansage quickly leapt off the branch but stiffened again. His hand coiled around the vine tightened as the Grass Monkey lost control of it's movements. It couldn't let go to land on the branch and crashed onto another tree, then fell rigidly to the ground. It was more or less in the same boat as it's foe Pikachu.

It got up gasping and panting, then flexed it's hands. It closed it's eyes and plucked a blade of grass. Putting it to it's mouth, it began to whistle soothingly and trying to put Millie to sleep with it's Grasswhistle. While it had low accuracy and higher chance of not reaching the Pikachu at all, it was guaranteed to put her to sleep, should it connect.

Ivan gritted his teeth. "Come on, Millie don't fall asleep. You can get past this!" Ivan said under his breath. Millie was looking curiously at the Pansage. She almost stepped forward to see what it was doing, but then decided not to. The Grasswhistle didn't connect. It went straight into Ivan's ears instead making him drowsy, but he quickly snapped out of it. 'What am I doing falling asleep to a pokemon's move?' Ivan thought. Millie charged another thundershock and then tiredly released it.

Pansage panicked and quickly scurried away, dropping the blade. It looked worriedly at the blade of grass lying there. It couldn't use Grasswhistle without it. It released a Vine Whip at the blade of grass...Success! The blade successfully stuck to the vine.

Soon it was in Pansage's hand as it began another Grasswhistle (EM). Small electric waves covered his being as paralysis was just around the corner.

Ivan shut his eyes. He couldn't watch, but he wanted to know if Millie fell asleep or not. Ivan was rewarded with the sound of his Pikachu releasing another thundershock. This was a very lasting battle. That was a strong Pansage too. Maybe he should have tried catching it. Well it might be too late now.

The Thundershock hit dead on and Pansage fell limply to the ground. It had fainted.

Pikachu gained 10 exp!
Pikachu grew to level 6 with 5 exp remaining!

"Millie! Get back, I need to get you healed up!" Ivan yelled at his Pikachu worriedly. Millie wobbled back and climbed in his hood. Ivan pulled out some blueberries and left them by the fainted Pansage. Ivan scurried off to his parent's day care trying to avoid wild battles.

(So is that an exit to the topic? I'll give you free exp anyway :3)

With the slight sound of splashing, a Magikarp could be seen flopping around in a small pond.


Level 8

Ivan skidded to a halt. A Magikarp? It better not have learned tackle yet. "Okay Millie I know you are tired, but you can still fight this Magikarp right?"

"Pika!" Millie jumped out of Ivan's hood and charged a thundershock on the Magikarp.

"I take that as a yes."

(no it's not exit I'm just trying to be realistic in how people play pokemon, if their pokemon is about to faint they try to get their pokemon healed before going back out to EV train. Unless I'm just dumb and only I would do that.)

Magikarp managed to just dodge the powerful electric attack by bunching up it's muscles and bouncing away. It glared at Millie evil-like and then released a powerful and terrifying Splash...which did nothing.

hmm. The magikarp didn't seem to know tackle so He kept going. He had Millie do another thundershock.

Magikarp was struck and lay motionless for a couple of minutes, gasping. However, it soon recovered and used another terrifying and disturbingly dangerous Splash, flopping around uselessly.

Millie continued using thundershock on the helpless thing.
