Learning Experience?

The city of Santalune was bustling with life in the morning, and this day was no exception to that. Both pokemon and people roamed through the streets in the bright and beautifully sunny morning. There were trainers everywhere, battling it out with their pokemon, most of them regular beginners, but the battles were still intense all the same.

A trainer named Proto Manson walked out of the boutique, an excited Chespin resting on his new knit cap. The trainer grinned widely at all of the battles taking place, pointing at a group of trainers over by the trainer's school, "Hey Chespin, let's go see if we can battle those guys!" His pokemon nodded its head confidently, sucking in breath and forcing the spikes on its head to sharpen, looking quite intimidating. Combusken would be staying in his ball unless necessary today, because even though Chespin needed training, you never knew when Team Flare might strike. Proto tapped the back of his feet on the ground, activating his new skates and riding over to the crowd, "Heeeeeeeey!! I'm Proto, and who are yo-yoooou!!?" The boy lost control, falling into the crowd with a loud "THUNK".

The oh so hero protagonist of this tale just lost balance and fell into the crowd. Nobody caught Proto so he head straight for the ground. The people around him looked down at him. Some of them laughed, some smiled, and some didn't give a shit. A big shadow of what seems to be a man appears on the ground. Then, a hand is offered to Proto. The man spoke in a huge voice, "Lemme help ya up wild kid. So we can get you down again after our battle."

The skin of his hand speaks for itself; it's a grown up man around his early 50's. And his voice has a little bit of a Southern accent to it. It's probably a Hiker or a Farmer.

The young trainer rubbed his head, his brown hair in a mess after taking that fall. His knit hat with Chespin on it had flown off, landing on the ground with a smaller "thud". The chipmunk got up, the knit hat way too big for him covering his entire head, and walked around while bumping into everything. Proto looked up when he heard a deep voice call to him, giving him a hand to help him up, "Thanks, sir, but I'm not going to be getting back down again."

The boy kept a friendly smile as he picked himself off the ground with the grown man's help, and took his hat off the Chespin's head. His pokemon quickly reversed itself to look at the grown man with a defiant face, his spikes fully sharpened, "Chespin ches!!" Even though Proto told himself that he wouldn't use Combusken, he might have to for this battle.

The big man sends out a Croagunk.

Proto's chespin walked up to meet the Croagunk, staring it right in the face, and releasing a loud growl. Then the spined pokemon smacked its own stomach, creating a loud drum sound and cutting its own HP in half. This buffed the creature's attack up to its maximum, however, so it was a good tradeoff.

"Total waste... Croagunk's just a Level 2. Why the attack raise?" "Belly Drum, huh? How about this? Brick Break!" Croagunk's hand glows white and he would karate-chop the Chespin from above.

Chespin doesn't have many options for attack against a poison type...hopefully with this power boost, his tackle will be more effective. "Now, Chespin! Use Tackle to counter it!" The tiny pokemon jumped up at the toad, going under its Brick Break and hardening its spines to tackle Croagunk.

Croagunk cried out in pain. Chespin's body really get toughened up. Croagunk's fist felt like it's been hit by a large boulder, Croagunk's injured. It's a critical hit and he faints in one hit.

Chespin gained 2 EXP!

"Eh... Was just a trap, kid. The real deal's coming up!" He withdrew the Croagunk and replaced him with Cranidos. "Cranidos, let's take him down! His maximized attack don't stand a chance against your hide! Headbutt!" Cranidos charges straight towards Chespin with its head leading the charge.

((Lv. 6 / Male / Mold Breaker ability / Headbutt, Leer, Focus Energy))

Proto jumped into the air, "Alright!! Nice one, Chespin!" Chespin landed on the ground, tired from having to use a Belly Drum, but it smiled, beaming with confidence. The excitement wasn't over yet, as the man pulled another pokeball out.

Chespin was caught off-guard by the sudden attack, getting hit with it square in the chest, and thrown to the ground. The pokemon was on its last legs, but it managed to pull itself off the ground shakily, "Wow...that's a cool pokemon..." He pulled out his pokedex and scanned the Cranidos, all of its information already recorded.

"Cranidos, the Head Butt Pokémon. Cranidos lived in the deep woods about one-hundred million years ago, and its cranium is as hard as steel."

Proto put away the pokedex and pointed at the dinosaur's feet. Chespin, you've got this! Finish this off with a Vine Whip!" From the pokemon's shoulders, two thin vines shot out and whipped themselves at the dinosaur. They attempted to hit his feet to keep it from charging.

(The attack boost works for Vine Whip. Just saiyan.)

((I know. Anything physical, right?))

Cranidos smirked when he saw the Chespin thrown away. He has a smile in his face that says, "Hah! I'm strong!" He felt even better when his data was recorded. "Erm, I know it's sort of annoying. Cranidos is a man of smoke and mirrors. He likes it when people give him attention." Cranidos even posed, like a hollywood star getting his picture taken by the paparazzi. His day dreaming was broken when two vines wrapped around his ankles and pulled him down. He fell down but the back of his head smashed on the ground, serving as leverage for his body. Quite comical.

"Oh yeah, I forgot we're in a fight." the big man's face turned to a sad, frustrated one. There's this "sad" feel to it. Somehow. Mysteriously. "Cranidos, get up! That Headbutt was good! We'll just have to keep ramming!" Cranidos jumped up, its eyes all red in anger. He sent himself off charging at Chespin again.

Proto smiled, but he gave a thumbs up at the man's Cranidos, "Don't worry about it, he deserves to be praised! Now, Chespin, use your vines!" Chespin's vines were still wrapped around Cranidos's ankles, making this next move obvious. The small pokemon, boosted to the max, cracked his knuckles and wrapped the vines around his own arms. It used the leverage to try and pick up the large fossil pokemon and swing it around.

Proto kept his thumbs up, pointing at the large hiker, "Sorry, but not this time, buddy. Keep training, though." He then put a thumbs down and said, "Now Chespin, smash him into the dirt!!" The small chipmunk used all its strength to yank his arms down, his vines following his movements and attempting to smash the Cranidos.

The plan worked. Cranidos was lifted upside down dangling in the air like a pinata. Like a creature caught in a forest trap. Suddenly, with one strong force, he's brought down. Two super-effectives in a row.

Cranidos tried to get up, he tried to use his arms and legs to push himself up but he soon collapsed over his own weight. Fainted. The large hiker had a sad face on him. Quickly, tears can be seen on his eyes, he's holding it back. Wait, so there's a sad story to the big guy? Or something like that. He withdrew his fainted friend before storming away. He runs fast for a big guy. But then again, it's not fat that makes him big.

Chespin gained 6 EXP!
Chespin grew to Level 6!

Proto scratched the back of his head as the hiker ran off, his tail between his legs, "Was that...too much?" He shrugged and turned to his pokemon, smiling, "I'm proud of you, Chespin! You took that Headbutt like a champ! Alright, let's get you to a pokemon center." As he pulled out a pokeball and returned him, Chespin nearly fell over in exhaustion, "Ches..."

After going to the pokemon center, Proto was hanging out next to the Trainer School again. It looked like he was waiting for something, someone to battle, maybe?

The front door of the trainer's school busts wide open. A middle-aged woman wearing red glasses, blazer and a skirt walks out. Her eyebrows meet together, cheeks are red. She's obviously angry. She slams the door shut behind her and looks at her surrounding. She let out a loud sigh before her eyes caught Proto.

"YOU! BATTLE ME RIGHT NOW!" She randomly raged.

Proto nearly fell over trying to avoid the rapidly approaching door, "Jeez, who the hell?!" When he turned around, he noticed the woman who had walked out, and quickly shrunk down, hoping he wouldn't be noticed. It was a nice dream, but dreams were meant to be broken. As the woman turned and yelled at him, he instinctively tossed out a random pokeball from his belt. It ended up throwing out Mightyena, a dark wolf pokemon who growled at the angry woman.

The woman was not at all intimidated or scared by the Mightyena's growl. She "humphed", took quick footsteps back and sent out a bipedal Pokémon with a round body and a thick, powerful tail. It has soft, pink skin with curved yellow lines on its belly and yellow ring markings on its knees. It has a thumb-like claw on each hand, and a single large nail on each foot. There is a yellow spot on its palms and the soles of its feet. It has beady eyes and a long, prehensile tongue. The tongue is likely connected to its tail, which twitches when the tongue is pulled.

"PUT A LEESH ON THAT DOG!!!" "LICKITUNG, SILENCE HIM WITH ICE BEAM!" A light blue ball forms in front of Lickitung's mouth. The ball then condenses and fires multiple light blue beams from it at the opponent. Should it hit, Mightyena would be frozen solid.

Proto was impressed by the Lickitung, but he'd seen a pokemon like it before, so he was prepared for the normal-type's ice move. "Mightyena, watch out! Dodge it and use Swagger!" The dark type wolf pokemon leaped out of the way of the ice beam, letting it hit the ground in front of his trainer to create an icy stalagmite. Proto moved out of the way of it to watch the rest of the fight, while Mightyena landed near the Lickitung and sighed annoyingly. It was intentionally trying to piss of the pink pokemon with his amazing #swaggermuffin.

Lickitung didn't lose her cool whatsoever, but a hint of frustration can be seen on her face over that missed attack. However, her trainer sure did get even more annoyed.

"STOP DODGING MY ATTACKS! STAY THERE AND GET HIT! GIGA IMPACT!!!" Lickitung's body becomes surrounded by orange energy and it bursts into a purple orb that becomes surrounded by swirling orange streaks. It would then slam into Mightyena.
