Torridus Blake [WIP]

Torridus has long black hair that always covers one of his coal black eyes. He's a bit non-descriptive, and if it weren't for his height, he wouldn't stand out in a crowd. He's not one for physical activity, so he's very lean and only has a hint of his natural muscle in his body structure. He's very pale, and often keeps to the shadows because of how easily the sun irritates his skin, though he's by no means pure albino. His face lacks a lot of 'character', as through what little aging its done so far, he has rarely smiled, frowned, or showed much of any emotion, so the usual slight wrinkles and lines created from emotion aren't there. He has a small burn scar underneath his chin, but it's hard to notice unless you're looking up at him, which due to his height, may be likely.

Torridus may change the clothes underneath it on occasion, but he is always wearing a black duster over everything. No matter the weather, he will be wearing his duster, and he only takes it off if he must. He isn't quite picky about the shirt he wears underneath it, as people probably won't see it anyway, and he wears a pair of dark colored pants to go along with it. If anything happens to his duster, he'll go after it, as it would seem that it's the only item he holds some sentiment for, though the reason is unclear. If someone drags his duster into the pits of the Underworld, he will dive in after it. If someone destroys his duster, he will most likely destroy them without thought.

From his shady business in the past, Torridus has a slim suit on handy at his disposal. He almost will never wear it unless some sort of black-tie isn't optional. It's as deep a black as his eyes, and brings out his tallness and shady features well. While wearing it, he comes off as both intimidating and mysterious, the exact look that was in mind when he was given the suit. It brings the ever-present grim expression on his face out more than it would be with just his duster on. Well, either way, it is a bit scary.


Torridus is a diagnosed sociopath. From birth, he was always a quiet, detached kid. He doesn't form emotional connections, and thus, has never experienced something like love or even happiness. He cannot feel remorse or guilt for his actions, and speaks rather matter-of-factly about everything he's done, without any regret. Strangers mean nothing to him, and he doesn't fear what his actions may cause them, as he cannot fathom the crushing despair others may feel. He's just indifferent to any feelings around him. Though, even lacking most emotions formed by bonding and empathy, Torridus is by no means a mindless vessel. He can feel irritation, anger, and pain (physical, not emotional), just like anyone else. With all of his other emotions, he can wear a mask of many faces, and feign just what he thinks the people around him expect his emotion to be. He's very good at what he does, and with his fake facade of a  smile and laugh, can fool many indifferent people.

Torridus is much like a puddle of water: shaped by whatever is around it. He cannot create his own dreams and ambitions, and became more of a clay for a sculptor to mold in their favor. Because of this, though he's a manipulator himself, he too is easily manipulated and accepting of whatever opportunities present themselves, though these opportunities are never creations of his own ambitions. He is aware that he's just a puppet to others, or a shadow of someone else's footsteps, but he's not bothered by it. For someone who has never felt what it is like to achieve and feel the warmth of happiness because of it, he has little to care about where his life takes him.

Around Pokemon, Torridus is slightly more akin to them. Though by no means does he feel a connection with them, not even his own. He does find them much more useful than people. The loyalty of Pokemon is a constant fascination, though he can never share this undying loyalty and bond, nor can he feel any guilt or resentment toward himself for this fact.  He does know when enough is enough, and will stop something to save his Pokemon unnecessary pain, since it leads to later problems he'd rather not deal with.

The few emotions Torridus feels can become overwhelming to him: especially anger. He can usually keep himself in check and always carry an air of calm around him, but if things get too bad, he will lash out at whatever caused it or whatever is around him. Because he doesn't feel empathy, the only reason he can stop his outbreaks is the thought of the consequences they may cause him once he calms down. He will never apologize for injuring anyone, human or Pokemon, and will find it strange if they react negatively toward what he's done. His own Pokemon can even fall victim to these outbreaks of rage, but Ardeo will lash out just as fiercely at Torridus. Instead of spiking his trainer's anger, the Houndour's attacks in defense of his friends brings his master back into his calm and collect mind, reminding him that pain follows his anger if it gets bad enough.

As for likes and dislikes, Torridus doesn't find sentiment in many things. His duster is the only object he feels truly attached to, he doesn't care much for any of his other things. He does have a preference for the color black. He also prefers spicy foods to the others, but doesn't find pleasure in his preferred flavor like other people. He feels irritation when confronted with over enthusiastic people, or just some people in general. Because he's not social, he'd prefer to be alone with himself, and can become distant as a point of keeping others away from him. They are mere annoyances and interruptions, and he can't bond with them anyway. This is his mindset, though surely someone persistent may be able to change it. People, after all, may have a use to him that he doesn't quite realize yet.

• Sociopath- His disorder is both a blessing and a curse. He doesn't feel the usual bonds that may tie someone down or cause someone to re-think their goal. He can easily move on and do whatever necessary to meet his own plans.
  
• Master of Facades- He has many faces that make him appear more pleasant that he truly is. He can act out any necessary emotion around people who expect such a reaction. Because of this, he's very good at hiding true intentions and his true personality.
  
• Cunning- He is the exact definition of cold and calculating. Without emotion, he can execute any logical plan without worrying about factors like people or Pokemon getting hurt.
  

• Sociopath- The curse of being a sociopath is truly the inability to feel remorse or create emotional bonds. He won't ever feel guilty for actions, and will never love or feel the true power of love. Because of this, he is incredibility lonely, though he doesn't know that it is the feeling he is constantly feeling. He knows only pain, numbness, and most of all, loneliness.
  
• Guiltless- Without guilt for his actions, he never thinks of consequences because of them. One day, he may go too far without realizing what he's done, and will feel the dire consequences of the actions most likely from the law. He won't feel remorse, but will make enemies because of his actions.
  
• Untrustworthy- He will always put his own goals before those of others. He doesn't trust anyone, and doesn't ever regret any betrayal. When confronted with a moral dilemma, he's not afraid to do the wrong thing and break trust if it means achieving his own end. Because of this, he will never be a figure to put trust into, especially if it's for something that may cause him danger or harm.
  

Torridus is working toward defeating a Pokemon League and becoming Champion of a region. This was never his original goal, but because of the past events that lead him on this path, it has become his goal in life.

Deep in his mind, Torridus fears that one day, all that he knows will turn on him. He realizes that emotion exists, and that being numb to it will only cause the fringes of his accompaniment with others to fray. He believes that one day, his Pokemon will find that he's the cowardly monster that he is, and will never bring them true happiness. On that day, he believes they will turn on him, and end his sorry existence. Though he logically fears it, when the time comes, he will gladly embrace his demise if it means ending his life of involuntary loneliness.

Torridus has no regard for his Pokemon's safety, unless they become overly weakened. He would lose a useful tool if it can't fight, so that is the only time he will intervene in a battle: if it will lead to problems later. Still, he's strategic and plays on his Pokemons' strengths. He doesn't regard consequences as things that should slow him down, and will stop at near nothing to win. Only his Pokemon keep him in check, and though he may want to continue a battle, if his Pokemon refuse, he'll have no choice to comply. Ardeo uses this often, to keep Berry safe.

Personality: Fiercely loyal to Torridus, he has been taught to obey his master without thought. He likes to remain to himself, but unlike Torridus, will form connections and bonds with other people and Pokemon he grows fond of. He will protect Berry, and all of his future companions, with his life.

Personality: Berry is the opposite of Torridus in every way. She's outgoing and silly, and loves a good laugh. She'll do whatever she can to help any person and Pokemon in need, and will fiercely fight for what she believes in. Though, she'll turn very somber and mournful when she sees fire; it reminds her of her first partner and friend.
