Gavin vs. The Mighty Gym! (Completed)

Gavin was standing near the door of the Gym, with Eternia at his side. Before they arrived at the gym, Gavin made sure that Eternia knew how to use Water Gun. It was of utmost importance in order to defeat this gym. Eternia looked at his owner. "Are you getting hungry?" Gavin asked his Vaporeon as he dug into his backpack. He recalled when he put about 50 Pokepuffs into his bag before leaving. "Ah! Here you go, Eternia!" Gavin said as he placed the Pokepuff on the floor. Eternia joyfully wolfed it down, and was then satisfied with his meal. Gavin ate a few of his potato chips that he had before placing it in his bag. "Alright, let's go!" Gavin told Eternia as they both went into the Gym.

As they entered, it seemed like noone was there. "Hello? We are here to challenge the first Gym!" Gavin told the blank, empty space as he waited for a reply.

The Oreburgh Gym is a narrow building built of stone. Two paths exist, a raised path that avoids the two Trainers and a middle path that takes challengers straight through the Gym. Roark waits on a raised hill at the end of the paths at the lights turn on revealing that it's not as empty as it is.

An average boy wearing a cap and short pants approaches Gavin. "Hi! You have come here to challenge our Leader! However, you have two choices. That shortcut leads directly to our Leader. No sweat. Or, you can be a daredevil and take me on. And that other kid. Then, the Leader. What say you, challenger?"

"I'm sorry, but if I would've brought potions with me, I would've challenged you three. I just want to face the Gym Leader. Sorry about the disappointment." Gavin replied as he waited for a response.

"Kay... go ahead. Good luck, man."

Roark awaits his challenger.

"Roark, chalkenger says he'll come at you right away!" says the youngster.

"Come on here, Trainer! You're up for my badge." Roark shouts in a daring yet friendly voice.

"Let's do this, Roark. First, I shall introduce myself. I am Gavin Kazunari. I wish you good luck, Roark." Gavin replies as he flips out his pokedex, and taps a button. It pulls up Eternia's Moveset, Current HP, and Stats. With his other hand, he points a finger at Roark and exclaims, in an awesome way, "Go, now, Eternia! Show him the power of Eterna City!" The Vaporeon was excited about this enterence, and got ready to attack the pokemon that was to come out.

Roark smiled at the kid's spunk, it reminded him of himself back in his younger days, "Smart, coming at me with a water pokemon! Type advantages aren't the only thing in a pokemon battle though, I hope you know that!" He opened a small compartment in the wall, and a set of three pokeballs popped out. He chose the first one and clicked the button as he tossed it into the air, releasing a bright flash of white that formed into a Geodude. It hit the ground hard, cracking the ground underneath its weight, "Geo. Geodude." It gave a stern look at the Vaporeon in front of him, thinking it to be just another battle. Roark pointed a finger gun at the young challenger and fired an imaginary bullet, "You've got the first move, kid! Make it a good one, too!"

(Wait, I'm... modding this topic...)

"Heh. Just what I was about so say. Now, If I'm correct about this..." Gavin said, flipping through his pokedex. "Your Geodude would know Defense Curl! Alright then!" Gavin said, snapping his Pokedex shut. he pointed another finger at Geodude (Phoenix Wright Style) and called out: "Eternia, use Tail Whip!" Eternia responded by coming in, looking like an Aqua Tail, but attempting to miss at the last second to confuse Geodude, lowering his defenses.

(I'll ask Kare if that's allowed... There's no rule in mod switch but asking someone to mod you right away and not even a day has passed is a little too much I think... Until then, I'll take it from here....)
(Also, you ain't supposd to know Geodude's moveset. The data shouldn't be on your Pokedex unless you did have a Geodude of the same level before)

"Just because you have a Vaporeon doesn't mean I'll back down. Prepare to lose!" Geodude's defense has been lowered. "Nice. But you can't hit what you can't catch that you swear you've been double crossed. Rock Polish and raise your speed, Geodude!" Geodude slams its fists together and his entire body glows white making it move faster.

EDIT: (Kare said it's okay for us to mod. He left me to decide. We can switch sure. :))

(Sorry I just thought that he was a training Pokemon Professor and all, but I'll only do it this once. Btw he just assumed I guess)


Gavin looked at Eternia. "If they're going to use stat boosters, then I guess we will, too! Sand Attack, now!" Gavin told Eternia as the Vaporeon ran over to the other side of the Gym, grabbed some dirt, and attempted to blow it at the Geodude's face, therefore blinding him.

(I see. Let's see... Let's put a limit on you. Alright, how about this. He's a professor so that means he should know a lot about Pokemon but since he's still a trainee, I'll limit him to knowing the moveset of only the basic form of Pokemon. :3 How das that sound to ya?)

The sand covered Geodude's boulder body... or head... whichever it is and some got in his eye. Geodude's accuracy has been lowered by one stage. "Hmph! We'll just have to rely on speed. Alright, it's tme to attack. You made the wrong move of going too close to my Geodude! Tackle, now!"

"Geo Geodude!"

Geodude immediately attempts to ram towards Eternia the Vaporeon, tackling the Pokemon with his entire structure and doubled speed thanks to the two-stage speed enhancing Rock Polish.

"Dodge I-" Gavin attempted to say, and Eternia tried to move as fast as he could. However, he almost missed it, but was hit pretty hard due to the incredibly fast speed. "Agh! That speed is gonna hurt for a while..." Gavin said as he flipped open his Pokedex to bring up Eternia's Stats. "That's it! Alright, Eternia, use Quick Attack!" Gavin yelled as Eternia got back up slowly. He glared at his opponent, and went at impossibly fast speed to try and hit his opponent.

Geodude didn't even try to dodge and Roark didn't instruct him, too. What good would a Normal-type do to a Rock-type? Nothing. The rocky Pokemon took the attack but didn't get hurt; he did but only a very tiny bit. "Okay, that's it," Roark said in a taunting tone. "Very well, Rock Throw!"

Geodude punches the ground, making rocks fly at the close opponent.

"Counter with a Water Gun!" Gavin replied as Eternia shot a jet of water at the rocks, attempting to hit the Geodude.

Geodude was hit. A super effective one. He wiped the wet leftovers from his rocky face with his rocky palm. "We're not just going to give up, show him how painful your body is! Tackle!"

With that said, Geodude attempts to charge with his entire body.

Eternia is hit decently hard as he is thrown into the ground. The Vaporeon lifts himself up, and looks towards his trainer, waiting for the next move. "...Okay. Wish Time!" Gavin thought. "Alright, Use Wish, then dodge the rest of his attacks to the best of your ability!" Gavin told Eternia as his head bowed down. A Flash of Light soared into the air.

Vaporeon's wish has been granted. Her health has been restored back to full. "Hmph, impressive. Tackle," Roark ordered. Again, the Geodude tackled with his body. Not like their Rock moves will do any good.

"Let him hit you and use a Water Gun!" Gavin said as Eternia ran at the Geodude, getting tackled in the process. In midair, Eternia charges up a Water Gun and attempts to fire it at the Geodude's face.

That was unpredictable. The surprise attack was enough to knock Geodude down. Eternia leveled up!

"No way! Not yet! Not giving up," he shouted and withdrew the fainted Geodude back to its Poké Ball. "Onix, come out!"

He throws a Poké Ball and out comes a rocky serpentine Pokémon. A level 14 male Onix.

"Prepare the Vaporeon for Cranidos! Screech," Roark commands. Onix lets out an earsplitting screech which should harshly reduce the target's Defense stat.

Eternia went to the ground in pain. "It's okay, Eternia! Let's go, Water Gun again!" Eternia Nodded as it shot a jet of water targeted at the Onix.

Onix simply waved its body away as the spiral beam of water hit nothing but the rocky wall. "Thanks for cleaning. I really appreciate it," Roark joked. "Anyway, Screech again, Onix."

Eternia the Vaporeon [Def: -1/6]

(Wait, what? Water is 4x Super effective against Onix..)

"Don't get arrogant on me, Roark. Now, Wish!" The Vaporeon bowed his head.

Vaporeon's health was back to perfect health. However, the lowered defense stat still lingers.


"Onix, use another Screech! If I'm right, it's possible to reduce a foe's stat by six times. If we manage to reduce it to the minimum then, Cranidos should not have a hard time," Roark commanded. His tone seemed to have changed. The tone people use when their bubble has been bursted.

Onix opens his mouth and the inside of it glows white. It then releases a light blue cylinder beam from its mouth at the opponent, blowing the opponent back the louder it roars. If it hits.

OOC: Yeah, the defense stat superbly lowered. I forgot Screech lowers the defense by two stages and not by one. Anyway, just for my esteem purposes both personally and as a trial mod, what can you say about the way I mod? Please do not be shy to speak even the negative things if there are.
