Chapter 1: The Drunken Mienfoo

Craig walked into Santalune city, a huge smile on his face. "I'm all fired up!" He yelled at the top of his voice, making sure that everyone in the surrounding area knew. He bolted towards the gym, running at full pelt. He wanted to make it to the gym and have a fight as fast as he could.

Craig's run was interrupted by a Venonat bouncing along the road. It stopped to eye the trainer.


Level 11

"When someone blocks you on the way to a grading, you fight them!" Yelled Craig, enthusiastic to fight this pokemon. He had only battled a few people, despite his Mienfoo being a drunken fist master. "Mienfoo! Use your drunken fist style!" He yelled, clicking the button on the pokeball to let out his pokemon. The Mienfoo stood slightly swaying, looking off balance and loose. "In reality, it was balancing very well, however to those watching, it looked quite simply drunk. It knew from training what was the first move in a battle to be used normally, and lurched towards the Venonat, hitting it with a pound attack, strengthening its muscles on the point of impact.

Venonat managed a small click of confusion before getting struck and skidding back. It came to a stop, ruffled itself and emitted some high-pitched sounds which should hamper with Mienfoo's ears and confuse it. Supersonic.

Mienfoo had all of it's attention on keeping it's balance, and took no notice of the supersonic attacks. "Mienfoo, raise your attack by meditating!" Said Craig. Mienfoo, still swaying, closed it's eyes, and it started to glow a blue colour.

Venonat looked cross as it dashed forward at an attempt at Tackling Mienfoo.

Mienfoo seemingly coincidentally stumbled out of the way of the tackle, then staggered towards the venonat. While it seemed completely coincidental, this was in fact the way the drunken fist style was executed. "Use your pound attack to try to juggle the opponent!" Yelled Craig. Mienfoo lurched towards the venonat and used pound to try to knock it into the air. If it succeeded, it would continue using pound to juggle the venonat.

Venonat clicked indignantly as the Pound launched it high. It made it's indignance known by unleashing a Confusion.

(Sorry for not replying for such a long time, I went camping and forgot to inform everyone.)
Unable to dodge this attack, Mienfoo was hit by the confusion, and cringed from the damage. In that second of fault, the Mienfoo missed it's chance to hit the Venonat. "You may not be able to dodge every attack Mienfoo, but always hit back!" Yelled Craig. "Use detect to protect yourself from its follow-up, then use a pound attack!" Commanded Craig.

(Ah, it's okay. Hope you had a good time. :3)

Venonat was just going to use another Pound, but Mienfoo had managed to Detect it. The Pound struck and it squeaked. It was now seriously starting to hurt. It's antennae drooped as it mustered the courage and strength to use another Confusion.

As he saw the Venonat's antennae droop, he knew that now would be the right time to catch it. He didn't know anything about the pokemon, but it looked as though it was some kind of bug. He was eager to catch it, and wanted to teach it ninjutsu. Taking a deep breath, he threw a pokeball towards the pokemon for the first time.

The pokeball struck Venonat between the eyes. It toppled over as it lost it's balance in shock and confusion. What? What just happened? Bewildered, the pokemon was pulled in. The pokeball shook violently twice as Venonat sought for freedom. The third roll was significantly weaker. Finally it stopped altogether.

Congratulations! You caught a Venonat! Would you like to give it a nickname?

"Woohoo! We have a new trainee! I'll get to teaching him his style right after the grading! But I should first patch up Mienfoo!" Yelled Craig. He pelted towards the Pokemon Center, burst through the doors and said to the nurse "Could you please heal these little black belts for me?" Craig handed over the pokeballs.
(Also no nickname)

"Of course." She bowed and collected the pokeballs. She headed back in and was out in a minute or two, placing the devices on the table. "Your pokemon are fully healed. Thank you for waiting, we hope to see you again." She sank into a deep bow and complied with a sweet smile.

"Thankyou Nurse Joy." Said Craihg, as he bowed deeply. He then ran out of the Pokemon Centre, and pelted towards the gym once again. "Nothing will get in my way this time!" Yelled Craig. He intended on taking the gym leader down with full force.

The gym loomed up ahead, a large building. The sign out side read 'Viola, "The camerawoman who never lets a single smile escape her focus."
