Keiko begins in New Bark!

Unbeknownst to anyone, the father was hearing it all along and thought he'd watch sneakily. He's hiding behind a big tree from a distance. A tree so big able to hide his wings and entire body. The mama Charmeleon maintains her distance.

Charmander watched carefully as Cyndaquil jumped towards him. He was able to sidestep. While he was watching that attack a while ago, his right fist was glowing white. When he sidestepped, he would swing that glowing fist. A Focus Punch.

As Charmander sidestepped, Cynaquil noticed the Focus Punch, but a moment too late. The fist collided with Cyndaquil and sent him flying back. He crashed to the ground, but quickly got back up. He attempted another Tackle.

Charmander sidestepped again. It looked like a scene of a matador fighting a bull. Charmander would take a quick step towards Cyndaquil for another Focus Punch.

On the other side, not bad for a Charmander who claims to have never fought before. Maybe he's actually skilled in battle and just don't realize it?

Again Cyndaquil was sent crashing to the ground. He needed a better approach. This time, he glared at Charmander to try and lower his defense, using Leer.

Wild Level 5 male Charmander: Defense -1/6

The endearing Leer successfully lowered Charmander's defense. Since the battlers are face-to-face close to each other, Charmander would use Scratch.

Cyndaquil was hit by the Scratch, and at close-range he charged forward, trying another Tackle.

Charmander felt the Cyndaquil's weight slamming at him and he fell down slamming his back hard on the soil. The mother Charmeleon has a blank look on her face, trying not to let out any emotion that might have a psychological affect on anyone; obviously being neutral to both battlers. Charmander quickly got back to his feet and would try another Scratch.

Cydaquil jumped back in time, his feet skidding back, creating a little dust cloud for a moment. Then he jumped forwards with another Tackle.

Again Cyndaquil dodged, this time to the side of Charmander. Charging back in, hopefully for the last hit, he tried another Tackle.

Cyndaquil said a friendly farewell as the pair left. "Great job, Cyndaquil!" Keiko cheered. His first battle, and he already won! It would probably be helpful to try and catch another Pokemon before she moved on to Cherrygrove, she thought. Looking around, Keiko checked to see if any of the other Pokemon were still hanging around.
