First badge? No problem for Ash! (open, companion /mod needed)

Roark's facial expression showed his frustration. All it needed was one last hit and his Geodude could've defeated that penguin.

"I see. Well then, Stealth Rock," commanded Roark. A little bit too late of a choice. He should've done that earlier.

Geodude's body becomes surrounded in several silver glitters that grow larger and fire around the battlefield. The energy then grows larger and forms into pointed gray rocks that sit on the ground. Should Silver send out another Pokémon, the rocks around it rise into the air, glow white, and crush the opponent.

"No switching back now," said Roark.

"I wasn't planning to switch them out anymore, Silver was getting impatient and wanted a turn to bash some faces."Ash said with a smirk, his eyes reflecting his sudden and unusual smugness. Silver smirked as well as he stared at Geodude. "Icy wind then Ice shard!" He commanded. Silver took a large amount of air in before blowing it out across the battle field as an icy gust of light blue tinted wind.

"Ice shard on the incoming tail, make sure not to get hit!" Ash countered. Silver released an ice shard at Onix's tail, showing no mercy as he did so.

The attack hit, Silver giving a small cry of pain before glaring at the Onix, panting slightly. "Use Faint attack, followed up with Icy wind!" Ash said with narrowed eyes, his smug smirk turning into a small yet serious frown. Silver's body was outlined in dark type energy as he charged forward as fast as he could and reappeared behind Onix, swiping one of his arms at the rock snake before releasing ice cold breath across the battlefield.

Silver winced as both atracks hit before snarling at his opponent. "Shadow ball then Ice Shard, full power." Ash requested, wanting to end the battle quickly. Silver smirked, his eyes showed malcontent as a black sphere of dark type energy formed in between his clawed paws. He threw-or shot-the sphere at Roark's Craniados then sent a powerful Ice Shard his way.

Both attacks hit easily. Such a quick battle this was. It's Silver's type advantage that did the tricks. Roark watched as his Cranidos fell to its side and fainted. "W-what? That can't be! My buffed-up Pokémon!"

With a frustrated look, he withdrew the Cranidos. "This is embarrassing... I went and lost to a Trainer who didn't have a single Gym Badge... But that's tough. You were strong and I was weak. That's all there is. According to Pokémon League rules, I have to give you our Gym Badge since you've beaten me, the Leader. Here's your official Pokémon League Coal Badge. In this region of Sinnoh, there are seven other Gym Leaders. I should warn you — they're a lot tougher than I am," he would say as he walk towards Ash to hand the Coal Badge. It is shaped like a boulder and a Poké Ball combined. It also resembles Roark's hard hat, or possibly a treasure chest.

Trainer app has been updated:
*Silver grew up to Level 17 with 8 EXP remaining!
*Ash won $1,680 as prize money.
*Ash received the Coal Badge!

Ash coughed a little into his fist at Roark calling Craniados "buffed-up", hiding his little laugh. Ash then accepted the items offered to him and thanked Roark before leaving the gym and headed to the Pokemon center to heal his currently small team.

Ash walked up to the desk and smiled at nurse Joy and said, "Hello, could you heal these two for me?" while holding up both Piplup and Silver's pokeballs. He had noticed that there weren't many trainers in the Pokecenter at the time. He then wondered where Gavin was- they had never gotten the chance to battle and he was curious how strong the other's Pokemon was now.

(Ash and Gavin met on their way to Orburgh and were supposed to have a battle, but they didn't. :3)

Ash thanked nurse Joy before leaving the Pokemon center, deciding that he needed another Pokemon or two in his team. He soon found an area of grass and began to search there, letting Piplup and Silver out of their pokeballs to help him search.

Silver smirked at his find before walking over towards the Gible and asking it for a battle. Ash rose an eyebrow as he examined the Rosrrade. Seriously, when was it everyday you find a Roserade in the wilderness?

Piplup kicked a pebble, slightly jealous that her two friends were able to find unusal and rare Pokemon. She walked over to Ash, willing to test her skills against a strong opponent with a type advantage.

"We wanna know if ya wanna join us! But, if not then let's battle!" Piplup replied in her own language happily. Silver smirked and fired a weak Icy Wind at the Gible, he wanted to see how easy this battle would be...

Piplup sighed and hung her head in defeat.Well, you win some you lose some. Ash squatted and patted Piplup's head. "How about a snack once Silver's done, hm?" he said with a small smile as he tried to cheer Piplup up. Then, an idea came to her. She suddenly perked up and yelled over to the Roserade as she continued to walk away: "Would you join if I told you that he does contests?!" she was obviously getting her hopes up, but at the moment she REALLY wanted another female companion.

Silver squinted, not being able to see to well. He was outlined in dark type energy before disappearing and reappearing behind the Gible and slashed at him. Faint Attack.

Piplup inwardly smirked. "I'll show an appeal he even came up with that we haven't really tried yet...." she said boldly as she walked over to a nearby boulder and stood on top of it. She winked, pink hearts surrounding her and with great concentration she was able to make the hearts spiral into the air then cluster into a group. Ash instantly knew what Piplup was trying to do and took over. "Piplup, spin and use Bubble Beam."

She spun, much like she did back in Roark's gym, and used Bubble beam. The bubbles didn't pop, but merely absorbed the hearts and incased them. "Now, use Pound while still spinning." he said. Piplup jumped and continued to spin, using her arms to pop the cluster of heart filled bubbles then landed, pink and blue glittker falling like snow around her.

Silver winced as the attack hit. He used Faint attack again, but when he swiped at Gible he swiped at him twice. Furry Swipes.

Piplup asked if the Roserade would like to join them. Then she mentioned that Ash was a very nice trainer that made snacks better then his mom.

Silver grunted as the attack hit but jumped out of the rocks way. He charged up a shadow ball then shot it at Gible. He knew he had a type advantage but wanted a bit of a challenge with his opponent.
