Leaving Home

Emalia woke up early with a smile on her face. This was it, departure day! After she got dressed and ate breakfast, she pulled a black messenger bag from her closet. She opened a drawer on her desk, pulling out the 5 pokeballs her dad gave her and putting them in the bag. Se then grabbed a basic pokeball from her nightstand and went outside.

Once outside she tossed the ball, letting out a Vulpix. "Alright Burst, are you going to cooperate or should I put you back in the ball?" She asked, looking at the pokemon with a smile. Burst simply yawned, standing up and walking in a circle once. "Alright then! Let's go." Ema said, heading for the path out of town.

Drake sighed as he stepped off of the small boat that had brought him to this new region. He looked around at the city he was in. It was nice and a much appreciated change in scenery. Drake began to walk around to get a better view.About three days ago he had left home with his pokemon in search of adventure. Drake planned on becoming the greatest pokemon master and wasn't going to let anything stop him from doing so.

As Drake looked around this new city he began to try and find a good place to train his pokemon. After a couple of minutes of searching he gave up and decided to set up camp on his way to the first gym in this new region. He began walking along a path that led out of the city.

Emalia noticed someone else leaving the city. "Oh. He seems to be going the same direction as us. Maybe we should see where he's going. It would make travel easier to move in a group, right?" She asked Burst, who simply curled up at her feet. "Oh come on. You don't listen so going alone is dangerous." She said, reaching down to pick up the Vulpix. As soon as Burst was touched it squirmed and bit Ema's hand. "Ow! That wasn't nice! Get back in your ball..." She said, returning the Vulpix to it's pokeball. This wasn't a great start to her adventure...

Drake had noticed the girl but didn't bother to speak. He didn't see the need to until the pokemon had bit her. He jogged over."Are you all right?" Drake asked as he came to a halt.
