Pignite's first gym! [Invite only]

Since Ryuji's going to stay in Striaton for a while longer, he decided he might as well take on the gym before he leaves. "Pignite, today we'll get our first badge!" Ryuji says to pignite.

They entered the gym, and took their place on the battlefield. "Pignite!" Pignite says with pride as he stands ready for the battle to begin as he's about to fight _____, one of the three brothers leading this gym.

A beautiful brunette dressed in a yellow-themed maid outfit approached the young man who was eager for his gym battle. He wasn't surprised to hear that he was going to battle against the great water-type user, cress. But it seemed the young woman wanted a battle before Ryuji could take on the gym leader, he wasn't here yet so why not? "Sigh.. We might as well since cress isn't here yet. What do you say pignite? Shall we fight this waitress as a warm up?" Ryuji said and asked pignite. Ryuji always includes pignite in his decisions, pignite is a huge part of Ryuji's life and he doesn't want pignite to fight someone without him wanting to do it as well.

"Pignite!" Pignite said with excitement as he shook his head up and down. Ryuji expected pignite to say yes, pignite has always looked forward to a challenge no matter what challenge it was, even if it's just a waitress dressed in a kind of corny maid outfit. "Ok then, let's do this. But first, what's your name? I'm Ryuji. When do you think cress will be here?" Ryuji asked the brunette waitress. Ryuji remembered about his new pokemon, budew, this would be a great experience for budew to watch pignite battle so it could learn a thing or two, so he removed its pokeball from his pocket. He held the red and white ball in his hand and pressed the small button on the center of the ball. It grew in size and he quickly threw it in the air. "Come on out budew!" he said. The green pokemon stood in front of Ryuji, "Budew, you should watch carefully, pignite is gonna show you a thing or two about battling now. I hope you learn something today, and now you get to see how we battle for the first time!" Ryuji said with clear excitement in his tone.

Pignite stood ready as the patrat was released from her pokeball, it quickly charged at pignite wanting to use bite on him, but this meal had something else in mind. "Oh no you don't! Pignite serve them up with a red hot chilly flame charge!" Ryuji said jokingly to pignite as he tried to make a pun, it was lame but he had the flame to back it up. Pignite stomped on the ground quickly creating a big dust cloud, which patrat blindingly charged into. Following the dust cloud was pignite charging at patrat with a huge flame charge. If pignite connected to patrat, he would surely do a great deal of damage to the level 10 patrat as this was a strong move of pignite and pignite was indeed a higher level pokemon, being level 21

"Budew!" the budew said as it jumped in the air from excitement as pignite cooked the patrat into fainting. "Guess your patrat couldn't handle the heat of the frying pan that is pignite, eh Tia?" The orange/red-ish haired boy said to the brunette in the sexy maid outfit, adding another pun as to try and get the crowd to cheer him on more. It wasn't long before her next pokemon was revealed, the devious purrloin. Cute, but sly. "Pignite, serve them up with an arm thrust!" Ryuji gave his command to the fire pig pokemon. He quickly charged at the purple cat-like pokemon with his arm at his side, leaving small dust clouds behind him as he charges. Pignite will definitely win this fight, but the question is.. Will he do it without even getting hit? Who knows, the purrloin is fast and might be able to dodge the attack and sneak in its own attack, afterall it is a sly pokemon

The purrloin was indeed fast, having dodged pignite's attack as it moved to the side. Pignite's stats took a dive from two stat effecting moves, sand attack and growl. The purrloin showed great speed as it got in both the moves without pignite getting an order from Ryuji, though that was about to change. "Counter with arm thrust!" Ryuji quickly said to his pignite. Pignite lifted his arm and attempted to slam it right into purrloin's face as it tried to use bite on pignite. If it connected, the sly purrloin would surely take great damage. "Let's hope this works.." Ryuji thought to himself, while budew stood there watching and learning more about Ryuji and pignite's teamwork

This waitress was indeed smart, Ryuji wouldn't have thought she'd come up with a plan like that as the purrloin growled and started scratching pignite as it latched its teeth on pignie's skin. Ryuji had to think quickly as pignite started taking more and more damage, so he gave the order. "Use flame charge then smog!" Pignite's body quickly took flame, which would damage the purrloin, followed by a smog attack, filling the area with a black cloud of poisonous smoke. "Good job pignite!" Ryuji would say as he waits to see if the purrloin has fainted as soon as the smog clears

"Pignite! Budew!" The two pokemon said as they saw the purrloin was defeated. "Your purrloin is quite fast, Tia. It's no wonder why you work in the gym, but you should try and work on its strength more. Thank for an entertaining battle, and the money." Ryuji says to the brunette. Tilting his head somewhat, he saw the tall man with a lillipup at his feet standing about three meters behind Tia. "I take it you're my next opponent? I'm Ryuji, and you are?" Ryuji says to the man, being a bit more serious and less respectful, bringing out his usual "I'm the best" attitude. "I guess we'll fight you then I'll take pignite to the pokecenter to get healed up for his match with Cress." He said again with a straight face, expecting to win the match of course.

"I'm Maxwell. And yes, you might need your Pokemon healing up after this one." He could be as arrogant as he liked. As gym trainers, they had seen it all by now, it was nothing new for them. Lillipup yipped and barked before going forward, tail wagging excitedly. This Pokemon was obviously a fast and energetic thing, too. The level eleven male gave Pignite its best baby-doll eyes, lowering the attack stat with the move, which always had priority. "Now, odour sleuth, then bite!"

Ryuji wasn't impressed with Maxwell's confidence, maybe a bit insulted but definitely not impressed. "Let's see if you can back your words up, eh?" He would say to the butler. After the opponent used leer and odor sleuth, Ryuji had to get in a move quickly, as soon as the lillipup had charged for its bite he gave the order. "Use flame charge pignite!" Quickly pignite stomped on the ground creating a dust cloud again, soon pignite came charging out of the dust cloud and headed straight for lillipup with his flame covered body. Ryuji wasn't going to fall for the same trick again by using arm thrust against bite, so he adapted his counter for the move this time

"Try to dodge!" Maxwell shouted, but it was too late for the Lillipup to turn tail or hope to sidestep. The flame charge sent him flying backwards with a squeal, hitting the rocky arena hard. He wasn't quite knocked out yet, but it was incredibly close, and the dog leered angrily at his enemy. Pignite was just too strong, "Just hold on, there, little dog. We can do this..."

(OOC: I forgot about flame charge's thing where it increases Pignite's speed every time it's used lol.)
The lillupup was down as it got hit with flame charge, it tried to get up but struggled and leered angrily at pignite. Ryuji's ego was boosted as he showed this butler who was indeed the strongest. "See I told you, I'm gonna be the victor here and you don't stand a chance. Finish it with a tackle, pignite." Ryuji would say so nonchalant to the butler. Pignite took charge at the lillipup with great speed, its speed being increased from all those flame charges it used before. It was indeed fast, leaving dust clouds behind him as he charged quickly at the lillipup and tried to tackle it to put it out of its misery. "You see Budew, we show them who's the best, and that's us. One day you'll be in the center of the battlefield in a gym battle, just like pignite." Ryuji said to his budew

There was no avoiding the pig, which raced towards Lillipup and sent him flying so high and so far, the patrons who were watching were appaled. The Pokemon let out a pained howl, and the butler had raced after his steady before the battle was even officially over, risking his classy appearance to catch the Pokemon which had left the confines of the rocky arena beyond the cafe. Ryuji had seemed entertaining before, but now, he'd probably just come off as merciless.

"It's okay, buddy, it's okay. We'll go and meet Tia and you can get patched up with your friends." It was his only Pokemon, so the battle was over, and he left a black leather bill wallet filled with notes amounting to $440 in prize money. "Take it and go and face Cress. You'll probably beat him down, too." He remarked sourly, getting up as he cradled his partner in gentle arms. Pignite received eleven experience points!

It was no surprise that pignite would win this battle, it was clear they had no intention of having anyone stand in their way. "Of course I'm gonna win against cress. Pignite isn't just any pokemon, we train everyday to insure our victory, do you really think we'd allow you to stand in the way of our destiny? We intend to win every gym battle in Unova." Ryuji would say with a clear serious tone in his voice as he picked up the wallet and removed the money. "You see Budew, this is who we are and you'll soon be too." He remarked. "Buderw..." the pokemon seemed a bit scared, but knew he would become one of the strongest pokemon if he stays with these two, afterall pignite seemed to demolish the two trainers without hassle. "Let's get you healed up so we can get this over with." The three quickly went to the pokecenter and got Pignite healed up after a few minutes. Ryuji was cocky, but no idiot. He had to insure they'd win so getting Pignite healed up was the smart thing to do, he could have easily shown more of his cockiness and go ahead to fight cress without healing Pignite, but that would be idiotic.

They returned to the restaurant, also known as the Striaton gym, and took their place on the arena. Ryuji stood on the edge with Budew next to him, while Pignite to center stage and awaited Cress' arrival for their battle and the final battle of the gym for the trio badge.

Little did anyone know on the second floor of the building stood a hooded figure dressed in black, lurking in the shadows . He stood there the whole time and watched as Ryuji battled the two previous trainers, and the moment has come where he would see Pignite's true battling skill against the gym leader. This hooded figure was indeed part of the secret organization looking for Ryuji and Pignite, but the question remained. Was he just going to observe their skill, or was he here to take care of the "problem"... Only time will tell as the battle was soon to begin

The well dressed waiter slash gym leader had arrived, seeming quite nice. But Ryuji wasn't here for games, he was here to win, and win he will. "I'm Ryuji, now let's begin shall we." He said. It seemed as if it was a theme for this gym to use Lillipup, which was starting to get old really. Oh well, it'll just end up like the rest of the Lillipup, in the pokecenter. The merciless Ryuji thought to himself. "Now, let's begin Pignite. Flame Charge combined with Arm Thrust!" Ryuji made the first move. Ryuji only tried combination attacks in the battle arena before, but it seemed fitting to use a powerful attack in a gym battle. The speed combined with the strength of arm thrust would prove to be overpowering for the Lillipup if it connected. Pignite's body took flame as he stomped on the ground and started charging at Lillipup, his flame covered arm in the air ready for the arm thrust.

Ryuji realized he had to kick up the level of Pignite's attacks if he wanted to win this battle after his stats took a dive from those moves Lillipup used. "Use sunny day and ember." Ryuji commanded. Pignite complied as he used sunny day which was soon followed by ember being blasted at Lillipup. "Let's see how you handle the oven now." Ryuji said with another quick pun

Ember was a success as it nearly ended the Lillipup, despite its best attempts to try and avoid the scorching flames. Cress seemed reckless as he sent his Lillipup at Pignite with an attack which required physical contact. Pignite would obviously end the poor pup pokemon easily if it neared the fire pig pokemon, and that's what was going to happen. "Pignite, take it." Ryuji said with a smirk on his face, his confidence was high and with good reason. This wasn't just to show that Pignite could handle the bite, no, there was a plan behind this decision. Lillipup jumped into the air towards Pignite to use bite, and as soon as it left the ground the order was given. "Flame Charge!" Ryuji knew the enhanced flame covering Pignite's body would cause Lillipup to faint, so as soon as Lillipup's bite connected, Pignite would use Flame Charge. His body engulfed in flame, with Lillipup latching on to Pignite with bite. As soon as the smoke cleared the results of their plan would be revealed, did Lillipup have some sort of escape route to this plan?
