Xero: Chapter 1: The journey for the badges begins here![open]

Xero walked into Oreburgh, remembering the times he had randomly walked through it. "Well, I guess we're back here for a bit of a real challenge this time."

The sole of Xero's foot starts to feel warm and warmer every second. If he were to look at it, a tail of a Pokémon that looks like the same to those of a wild Monferno would be seen sticking out a bush.

Lv. 24/Male

"Looks like we've got a challenge, everyone. You're up first Y. Try a Megahorn to start."

Sadly, Bug-types are not that effective against Fire-types. Surprised, the Monferno got shoved on the ground as he jumped out of the bush to see the Trainer with his Heracross, Y. Knowing the foe is Bug-type and that he has the level and type advantage, he tops it up with Ember.

"I've got 3, you know." As Xero said this, X began to charge and the Monferno, while beginning to charge an Aura Sphere. X tried to throw it at the Ember, hoping to break through and damage the Monferno.

[[Next time, please make sure to state that you have sent Pokemon out from their Balls. I meant Poke Balls, you pervert.]]

Since X is more powerful, it worked doing a grin-deserving amount of damage to the foe. The Monferno fought with another Ember.

X this time tried using Focus Blast, followed by Y and Z usng Aerial Ace. "Alrightguys, show this thing how it's done! Just don't finish it yet, I've got plans."

[[...It can't survive without fainting but... I'll let you go this time. Don't do this again. Don't tell anyone. LOL, corruption at its best.]]

Monferno magically survives because Shadow is awesome.

"Now then..." Xero threw a Pokeball at the Monferno.

Monferno was captured.

Xero walked over and piked up the Pokeball. "Your cover name is now A. Hope you like it." Xero sent of A and they walked to the Pokemon center and healed up, then approached the gym. "I guess we're going in then."

[[Captureds are healed already. That's the magic of PWRPG. :P]]

The Gym Leader is standing in front of you, he was about to go out. "Eh, w'up? Was gonna go get some food. Eh, a fight?" jhe asked.

"You're the Gym Leader here, right?"

"Sure, I am. Come on in. If it's to be done, let's do it quickly." The Leader walks inside and towards the arena. He stops and stands on the space next to the partition where Trainers should be standing so as not to interrupt and hurt themselves while their Pokémon fights.

Xero prepared for the battle. X, Y, Z, and A were all waiting on the side for the battle to begin. "Alright, I'm ready when you are."

"Well then, Geodude," he whispered and tapped a Pokeball on his belt.

Geodude | Male | 12 | HP: 6/6

"Let's have some fun...Alright, A, you're up first." Xero motioned for A to battle.

A moved into the arena, prepared to fight. He quicklyopened the battle with Flame Wheel.

"Heh...Better than my idea I guess."

Fire-type doesn’t go well against Rock-type but thanks to the level advantage, the attack did a considerable amount of damage. Having lower stats is a serious disadvantage for the Gym Leader. Roark decided to use speed as a weapon. "Rock Polish," he said. Geodude did as told. Speed rose.

"Speed on a rock type, huh? Guess this is about to get fun. A, use Mach Punch, and if it messes up, throw another Flame Wheel down."

Looks like the increase in speed worked perfectly as Geodude was able to dodge a fist. But he didn't expect A the Monferno to follow up with a Flame Wheel. The fires collided with his head-body. "Doesn't matter. Defense Curl and then Rock Throw."

Geodude curled itself up into a buffing manner as his defense rose. Then he went to the corner of the arena to pick up a boulder. Then, he would toss it to A.

"Time for some fun...Alright A, dodge and get back." A dodged and was sucked into its Pokeball. "Now then...Z, give it all you've got." Z nodded and went into the arena.

"You know Bug-types are weak against Rocks right," the Gym Leader pointed out. "Very well, let's smash her. Rock Throw," Geodude, still in the same place where there are boulders, grabbed another one and tossed it towards Z the female Heracross.

Z dodged, preparing to get close and use Brick Break. "Hera!"

Xero watched carefully for a perfect opening. 'It seems like when it throws a rock it provides just long enough ofan opeing to get in close and attack...' "Alright Z, wait for it to 'charge' then go in close and use Brick Break!"

Heracross' hand met Geodude's head which is also his body. It was super effective. It gave him a small crack as he fell to the ground fainted. "Impressive. But it's not over yet," said Roark. He took Geodude's Poké Ball and withdrew him. "I still have two Pokémon left. Come on out, Onix." He took another Poké Ball and out comes the Rock Snake Pokémon, Onix.

“You’re not getting your badge as easy like that. Harden and then use Rock Throw,” he commanded. Onix’s body flashes white and shines, making his defense stat go up. Taking advantage of the partition between him and Z the Heracross, Onix yells out and rocks fell from the ceiling; only the area where Z is and would possibly be.

Pokémon info:

"Let's try a new strategy we've been working on!(OOC moment: Yes, technically out of the crap I do with him, Z DOES know rock throw, so I'm not USING the move, but just catching the rock, k?)"

Z watched the rock carefully. "HERA!" Z jumped forward and caught the rock, placing it down beside her, readying to use it as cover.

"Alright, great job, Z!"
