We'll Embark From New Bark

Jason and Pre-Cal marched from New Bark Town, off to Cherry Grove City.
"Will we have to do any more of that ridiculous training, Jason?" Pre-Cal asked, telepathically.
"Yes, and lots of it, but not right now. Right now, if you haven't noticed, we're moving on to Cherrygrove and maybe we'll find some wild pokemon on the way to join us." Jason answered.
"I suppose that's a jolly good idea. So, thinking of any particulars for the team? Pre-Cal asked.
"I'm hoping we find an electric type. That'l give us an edge against the first gym. Or maybe one of those Pokemon Elm keeps around his lab- Y'know, Totodile, Cydnaquill, or Chickorita. Based on what I've read, those things evolve into some pretty powerful pokemon."
Pre-Cal contorted his face in what appered to be a frown, and replied "Is it always evolution with you? What if I never evolve? Will I not be of use?"
Jason sighed, and said out loud, "No Pre-Cal, you'll always be of use. You're my best buddy, and you know it. Now c'mon, let's find some wild pokemon!"

Close to Jason's path, a timid looking Spearow stood, pecking at the ground in search of food. She looked small compared to most other Spearow in the area, but size didn't always show strength.

Spearow, Female, Level 13

"Oh, dear, a flying type. Do we have to fight that? Because, I don't want to get knocked out, horrifically." Pre-Cal said telepathically.
"No, we don't. We're here to catch some pokemon, not fight them. We can't get any flying types til' we get a partner who's not weak to flying." Replied Jason.
"Amen to that." Said Pre-Cal."Let's run, shall we?
Jason nodded. "We shall."
And with that, the two ran like the dickens into a different area of the route, and continued their search for wild pokemon.

Peeking out at Jason from a near-by bush was a Wooper, who lazily smiled up at the trainer without any hostility. He seemed curious, but content enough to allow Jason the first approach if he wanted.

Wooper, Male, Level 9

"Oh, hey, a Wooper, that's ground type. Maybe we can fight that, I'm super effective to it!" Pre-Cal said.
"No! We won't fight it, unless it fights us, or if we need to, or, something!" Jason cried.
He walked up to the little Wooper and knelled down to it's level.
"Hi, little fella." Jason said. "Would you like to go on an adventure?"
"Personally, if I heard that from a random trainer, I would run like the dickens. Riolu joked telepathically.

Wooper looked up at Jason, seemingly to not be able to be more laid back. "Wooper," he said with a tired voice, not accepting nor denying the trainer's offer. Instead, he sprung up and onto Jason's shoulder before starting to doze off. He seemed to want to hitch a ride with him before seeing if he would accept or not.

"What did it say, Pre-Cal?" Jason asked telepathically, mildly bewildered by the Wooper's behavior.
"Basically, it wants to go for a ride before it joins you in you half-brained schemes." Pre-Cal replied with a snicker.
"Funny. Anyways, while this thing takes a nap, let's find some more pokemon!" Jason said, as he and Pre-Cal walked even further into the route.

Further up ahead was an odd sight for Jhoto. Sitting and eating a nearby plant was the tiny figure of a Joltik, no bigger than a finger on Jason's hand. It was happily eating its meal and didn't seem to regard or notice the trainer and two Pokemon.

Joltik, Female, Level 13

"Look! A wild Joltik! We can fight that! Pre-Cal, hit it hard with a quick attack!
Jason said telepathically.
"Yes, Mr.Dictator." Pre-Cal joked as it darted at the wild Joltik with a quick attack.

Joltik was taken by surprise, and was almost crushed by Cal's Quick Attack. Luckily, despite her size, she seemed to hold her own well, and could use her tinniness to her advantage. She dove into the bush, and disappeared into the dark foliage. Suddenly, a stinger shot out from the bush and sped right at Cal, a Leech Life.

"Qucik! Cross chop!" Jason ordered mentally.
Pre-Cal did so, and the little stinger shattered into many pieces.
"Use cross chop again on that bush!" Jason said, out loud this time.
"Aye aye, cap'n." Pre-Cal replied as it slashed through the bush with it's powerful arms.

The bush was mutilated, with broken and snapped branches now scattering across the ground and leaves now scattered across the ground covering most of the damage. Joltik herself still wasn't seen, but was hiding under the rubble. She had taken damage from the mighty chop, but wasn't about to show the trainer how weak she had become. This time, another stinger launched at Calc, then another, then another. She was putting her effort into multiple Leech Lifes in hopes that she would have a better hance at hitting her foe. Also, the more that hit, the more she would be able to recover.

"Quick, use counter!"
Jason shouted. That Joltik was probably about to be in a world of pain.
Pre-Cal threw up it's counter attack, and shrugged off all the damage.It then slammed it's first down at the Joltik, doubling the force of the attack that had just been dealt.

The Counter did do massive damage, and Joltik shuddered before falling to the ground and fainting. She was such a tiny Pokemon facing such a large foe, she didnt stand much of a chance, the poor thing.

Pre-Cal gained 13 Exp!

"Darn it." Jason said. He was hoping to catch that.
"You were planning to catch that, too? At this rate we'll have thirty team mebers before Cherrygrove." Pre-Cal said.
Jason shrugged, and began poking about through the grass once more.

This time, a kind looking Sentret poked her head out of the grass. She had a small pile of Oran Berries in her arms, and looked at Jason a bit wearily. She cautiously walked up and picked one of the berries up carefully in her mouth, offering it to the trainer. She seemed generous, and didn't want any trouble.

Sentret, Female, Level 13

"It wants no trouble." Pre-Cal advised Jason, in case he had the bright idea to fight it.
"Don't worry buddy, we're not fighting this little fella." Jasson said, as he got down on a knee and gratefully accepted the berry, and patted the pokemon on the head.
He stood up, and tossed the berry to Pre-Cal. He then looked down to the Sentret. "You intersted in going on a journey, buddy?" He asked.

"Tret?" the Sentret said quizzically, glancing at Pre-Cal and Jason with wide eyes. She didn't seem to know her answer. She hefted up her arms and dumped the remaining berries next to Jason's feet and jumped onto his shoulder, holding one berry delicately in her mouth. It seemed she wouldn't mind traveling with Jason.

"One day, from the sheer volume of pokemon you carry on your shoulders, your shoulders will break. I will laugh. Then I will drag you to the hospital." Pre-Cal joked.
"Right." Jason chuckled.
He poked the Wooper that had been with them thus far.
"So, you have your answer fella?"

(Maybe it's his hair, it must smell good XD)

"Per," Wooper replied with a nod. He would join Jason as well.

Wooper and Senteret would like to join Jason!

"Right then!" Jason smiled.
He pulled out two pokeballs, and extended them from ping-pong ball sized to that of roughly a baseball, and tapped both pokemon on the head with it.

Both Pokemon were brought into the balls in a strange light, and after a few moments, the shaking of the Pokeballs halted, both Pokemon were caught!

Wooper and Sentret were caught! Would you like to nickname them?

Jason pondered for a moment what to name them.
"Thing one and thing two!" Pre-Cal had suggested, which had earned him a telling-off.
"Hmm.... I think I'll nickname Wooper.. Forty-Two!"
"Why Forty-Two?" Pre-Cal asked.
"It's apparently the answer to life, the universe, and everything. I read it somewhere..." Jason said. "And as for the Sentret, I'll name it Trillian!"
"Trillian?" Pre-Cal questioned.
"From the same book." Jason replied.
"C'mon, let's get a move on!"

Just as Jason started off, a trainer ran right into his path, oblivious to Jason. That is, until he walked right into him. Surprised, the trainer stepped back. "Sorry about that," he chuckled, "I was just looking for someone to battle..." he took a glance at Pre-Cal, "and I may have just found them. What say you? D'ya want to battle?"

"Sure, a battle sounds good." Jason said wit a broad smile.
"Pre-Cal, you're up. Hit fast and hard good buddy." He said to his pokemon partner telepathically.
Pre-Cal stepped in front of Jason and tensed for a fight.
