The Begining

Serena sprang from the trail that was leading into the Pinwheel Forest and looked around. She then felt a shift around the area of her bag. Her partner peeked around her shoulder and then jumped up and glided to the nearest tree. As it did this she looked a little distressed because she did not want her partner to get lost. "Gligar if you get lost in this forest we will be in big trouble." She said to the female Gligar. Gligar shuddered at the thought and promptly flew back to her bag on her back. "Don't forget we are here to train and maybe even catch new friend." Serena told her. At that moment a tree started to rustle and shake. 'Oh my I wonder...' She let the thought hang. The tree shook even more violently and a small cry became decernable.

The source of the cry was keen to hide itself, but didn't seem to do a fully good job. The shaking had caused a swinging purple tail to emerge from the leaves, revealing the Purrloin hiding from within. Luckily for Serena, the Pokemon didn't seem to have noticed her, and was open to a surprise tactic.

Purrloin, Female, Level 8

Serena smiled now was her chance. "Now Gligar lets set the show with a lovely Cross Poison." She said looking determined. She smirked as Gligar glided with great spead getting ready for an attack, The tips of her claws became a deep sinister looking purple and begat tolight up slightly as she crossed her claws to bring the attack to full execution. If this attack hit it would deal a faire amount of damage to the Purrloin.

Purrloin ears twitched to find the source of the sound behind her, but as she turned around, it was already too late. The claws violently swiped across her, and she let out a yowl of both surprise and pain. The hair atop her back slowly rose as her back curled into an intimidating arch, and she hissed at Gligar while still managing to keep ahold of the branch she was on. Her own claws extended from her paws, and she lashed out at Gligar with a Scratch attack as her own rebuttal.

Serena watched as her Gligar landed the attack that she had sent her to do. 'Perfect, it hit right on her target.' She thought to herself. She was about to do a dance of victory when she seen the Purrloin's back arch. That couldn't be good, she watched as the the Purrloin extended her claws and she called out, "Gligar dodg...". She was too late, she had to stand by as her pokemon was hit squarely with the attack.

"Alright shake it off. Lets set the field once more. Now Poison Sting." She shouted to her pokemon. Gligar immediately headed into action and flew around the tree. She took a chance to get behind the Purrloin and attempted to latch on to deliver her Poison Sting attack. 'Thats two Poison type moves in a row. If I am lucky the Purrloin will begin to feel the affects of the poison.' She mused growing slightly more confident at the moment.

Purrloin swung her head back and forth in confusion. Gligar's suprising speed had made he easily dance around Purrloin's line of sight and into the opportunity of anothe surprise attack. As Gligar latched onto her, and effectively launched her attack. Purrloin herself leapt into action, literally. Before Gligar had a chance to unlatch herself, Purrloin leapt from her branch, and angled her fall so that Gligar would both be slammed into the ground rather hard from the speed and weight of the impact while also breaking Purrloin's own fall. There was a small glisten of sweat at her brow and worried expression. She didn't want to show her foe it, but the poison had indeed taken effect.
